The facility is not what is wrong with this place. The management running it are the problem. If you are new to the community or are proficient in your sport you will be treated like garbage. You will be asked to make concession after concession to every lard butt who has the motivation to get to the gym and stand in your way. ***Allert notice folks! Going to the gym will not help you take off pounds in and of itself! You will be required to move your body.*** Now, in reality, there is plenty of room at this facility to accomodate the recreational stander and serious athletes but this will require management of the resource; which is where management falls way short. Again, if you are a person who is trying to accomplish something by spending hours of your life at the gym then steer clear of the Lapeer Community Center. Also, if you are new to the community, well I guess you really screwed the pooch moving to Lapeer. Heres hoping youre in a short lease.

Okay so this place is great and all but i find that u can tell the place is used comunity wide because every time i go there there is bandaids in the water hair and other random things also the lockers are pointless i have learned this since i was a kid and my dad got 300 bucks stolen from him so unless you want to bring a padlock then you shouldnt bring anything that means very much to you. Also the managment there are pack quite a bit when it comes to being cool they watch over you like a hawk and treat you like 3 year olds. They also question you when working out like your not supposed to be their and then when it comes to other parts of the place notbody is even there in case something does happen. Also for the people who arent little kids and actually like to dive in the deep end you have to wait until they close the diving bored because they use the deep end for the diving bored section too so your either diving or swimming and it gets anoyying

Look, I admit I am used to college towns and used to getting exactly what I want. I cant stand the fact that this place Closes at 9 on weekdays and 6 on weekends. LOL. WTF! I like having kids around. They are well-behaved and it brings a different energy to the gym. But the management has their heads up their rear ends. The entire government of Lapeer ought to be fired and replaced with people fresh out of college. KEEP THE WEIGHTS AND MACHINES OPEN LONGER THAN THE FITNESS AND COURTS!! OR BETTER YET, STAY OPEN 24 HOURS!!

This facility is a good value and has a lot to offer. I have used the cardio equipment, weights, and track. The equipment is all in good shape, although the tv audio isnt reliable on some of the cardio equipment. This is a family facility, so there are often kids around. My only recommendation for management would be to extend the evening hours, especially on the weekend. The locker rooms could also be kept up a little better. But overall a nice environment and great value.

Lapeer Community Center offers many fitness options......an excellent pool,running track, free weights, and various weight machines. Also available are exercise bikes and cross country skiing variants. Volleyball, racquetball, and basketball round out many options for the young and the mature enthusiast. This place is an outstanding alternative fitness cooperative!

Its a nice gym for the casual workout as well as having nice facilities for swimming. Although I wish they didnt have open swim and lap lanes happening at the same time for the sake of space. The only other lane times are really early and I can never make it out the door.

Amazing swim area. Great beach area with fountain and a little slide for my little guy. Comfy seating for the on lookers, my pregnant wife. And a whirlpool and big slide for the older kids and us kids at heart. Really a great place to spend some time with the family

I became a member of the City of Lapeer Community Center about 2 months ago. The facility has so much to offer and the staff has been great. They have everything necessary for a great workout along with so many programs that my kids enjoy. Great place

Nice place, pool is usually very busy. Unfortunately the life-guards dont enforce any rules in the pool and children were constantly entering the lap lanes (dangerous.) I felt like I was going to flip turn off the wall and hurt a kid by accident.

Really great community center. Splash area for little kids is great and the slide is a blast. The workout equipment is nice and the gym is always busy.

I like the facility but my stuff was stolen out of my locker once, and my sons was broken into. Bring a good lock if you use the locker room.
