Awful rules they wouldnt let my 3 year old wear arm bands into the pool because "they arent safe enough" yet feel its safer for her to wear nothing.. I suggested that "I should be informed of this policy upon arrival at the front desk prior to entering the pool" their response was "we dont have time for that"..... Then we go to leave, enter the family locker room which containned at least 50 people waiting for changing cabanas where the only toilets and showers are located. My 4 year old son had to "go potty" so we enter the filthy womens locker room when a staff member told us "no boys of any age are allowed yet at any time" its funny that they can have no toilet paper, hair balls all over the floor, trash on the sink counter, trash on the floor yet they are worried about a 4 year old boy with his mother and 3 year old sister. What a world we live in that grown men who "identify their selfs as a women" can use any bathroom or locker room of their choosing but my 4 year old is such a threat give me a break!!!!!! We will happily be taking our business elsewhere. This place is a filthy disgrace to the city its so sad all the high tax dollars I pay to live in this city and yet they have un hygienic business and uneducated staff ! Never again!!!!!

This place is a ripoff. I signed up for a membership that covered me and my wife and my 3 year old son. Today I go up there to go swimming with my son who just turned 4. The guy at the counter tells me I have to pay for him to get in. I ask why is that if I signed a 1 year contract that was supposed to cover him since he was 3 when I signed up. He said that was the rules. I ask for the manager. The manager comes up and starts being sarcastic and being extremely rude. I ask why would I continue to pay for a membership that does not let my son in. I said I should be able to cancel my membership without any fees. He smirks and says well thats between u and our collection agency. At this point I say I want to talk to his boss. He says nobody above him is there. I will be calling tomorrow to get this issue resolved. This place is extremely unprofessional, rude and shady!!!!

My family had a membership here for several years, and it has a fair amount of positives and negatives. From a family standpoint, there are plenty of activities that kids can do here in a safe environment -- many of which can be done independently while grown-ups work out. The fitness equipment is dated from what you would experience at a newer establishment, but if youre looking for a lap pool or a track to run around, there arent any other options in the area at competitive prices. The recreational pool is usually overcrowded and rowdy, despite the best efforts from the lifeguard staff to keep kids (and adults) under control. Our kids stopped having much fun when my wife and I went there for fitness, so we outgrew the membership and downsized to a local club that doesnt have a recreation pool but has newer equipment, less screaming kids, and is cheaper.

This is a really great facility. At times I feel that some of the employees arent very knowledgeable of policies and prices, but the great many things available at the facility completely make up for it. An indoor track, gymnasium, HUGE leisure pool with water slide, separate lap pool, sauna, hot tub, outdoor splash pad, indoor tree fort for kids, a huge selection of machines that are almost always available, gymnastics, outdoor roller hockey, indoor roller hockey, rock climbing wall, outdoor skate park, kids quarters for childcare-- and Im not even listing everything. I moved to Livonia from a bigger city and there was not a facility that even compares to this at these rates. Truly worth it! (If Ive ever had an issue that required more help its always been eventually handled very well by management)

Every year, they take dozens of extra people and cram them into the classes the current members have paid full price for, making it possible to enjoy the class, not enough equipment, etc. They lied in the past, stated this was not going to happen again, but it did. Scott, facility manager, states that it is going to happen every week during their nearly free fitness program, facility director says it was only for one day....who is lying? Children running around in adult exercises classes, gum and bandaids in pool areas, boys in the womens locker room, broken equipment, pool river inoperable for months, no two managers have the same story, managers are not familiar with their own programs, facility not too clean, etc.

Outrageous membership fees!! Non-resident membership (meaning not in Livonia) is $434.00 for a 23 year old. Who the hell can afford it? On top of it, I took my friend Dennis and he had to pay $15.50 for a day pass (non resident of Livonia) all there is a swimming pool and exercise area. Rock wall is extra, classes are extra, and the game room is a joke. I am so glad my previous membership is going to end soon. These fitness centers with swimming pools rip you off. I took my friend Dennis and he was missing one quarter, and they made such a big deal like they were missing money. Finally the clerk rolled her eyes and said "this cannot happen again." Like for real? A quarter? Damn... Greedy!

The center is nice. Been going there for three years. Before that, I was a member at LifeTime fitness. LifeTime has better equipment, and is open 24 hours. Also, classes are free, as opposed to the Rec, and it has racquetball. But, I dont do the classes, and LifeTime is a pain in the butt to get to during rush hour. And the Rec does have good equipment, just not as good as LifeTime. Oh, one more thing, the Rec is a heck of a lot cheaper than LifeTime....Not worth 55 buck a month in my book.

I used to go there a lot but its no longer a pleasant place to work out. It is filled with unruly kids if all ages who take over the equipment, hot tub and are loud. At times they are on the couches making out. Its turned into a hangout for kids. Including young kids whose parents let them run around while theyre in a class. Theres no supervision. The place has become over-crowded and expensive. Seven years ago I was so excited to go there to workout, now I dont bother going.

Very large and has a lot of options, air hockey, pool, table soccer, rock climbing wall, gym, track, basketball court, outdoor kiddy water park (eh not too great also small), lazy river, kiddy pool, water slide, whirlpool, 8 lane Olympic like pool, and so much more. Best rec center ever hands down. The membership is also cheap its either $800 upfront for 1 year or 80 a month for 1 year. Also very great and friendly environment

I go with a few friends. 2/3 of us have a membership and the other doesnt. We are all 13 years old. So my friend goes to get a day pass and the rude and unhelpful staff are saying us with a membership can go in but the one that is buying a day pass is told he has to be 14. What kind of a place is this. I cant wait till this year membership is up because I will never come here again
