A wonderful interactive museum that displays the history of Detroit history in an enjoyable way for all ages! They have recreated old streets and shops indoors that you can walk through to have a full immersive experience as if you have been taken back in time to witness what life was like in that era. There is a wide range of exhibits from trains, to the automobile assembly line, to Detroit Sports and much more. I would definitely recommend this as a must visit to everyone traveling to Detroit as well as residents and families of all ages.

The renovation of the museum a few years ago is fantastic and completely reinvigorated the place. Definitely worth a visit if you havent seen the museum since then. Theyve done a really nice job on new permanent exhibits. And to anyone new to the area (only because Detroiters typically know about this from childhood!), the Streets of Old Detroit walk-through exhibit in the basement is a must.

Its FREE. lol. And its full of great Detroit History. Furthermore, my kids have been there times and times and times before and they still love looking around that museum. The lower level is there favorite floor. If you visit, you would know why?(Donation Based Organization, so please leave a donation)

A great little gem. A lot of Detroit history on view and for FREE. Music, auto manufacturing and much more show how much of a big deal Detroit is in our countrys history. Great place to bring the kids, right next to the library and DIA. Make a day of hitting 3 of the best spots Downtown.

Free family fun! This museum is just awesome! The lower floor is my favorite! Employees are friendly and helpful! Parking is decent unless the lot is full then youll need a credit or debit card to pay for street parking or youll be walking a long way for free parking!

The Detroit 67 perspective exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum is spectacular! It really captures the essence of the experience, as well as tell the story of who Detroiters are as a proud people and a community. I love the Detroit Historical Museum!

Really neat museum covering the history and culture of the Detroit area. Excellent exhibits. The Streets of Detroit (a full size exhibit of what Detroit looked like in the past) on the lower level alone makes this museum worth checking out

Must visit. Classic exhibits and updates as well. Start with the old streets of Detroit in the basement. Grandpa had some corrections to make to the automotive drafting display from the early 1970s.

A wealth of information and artifacts. So much to see and the displays are incredible. I think it deserves a good solid few hours, maybe more to absorb it all in. Will return for sure.

The 67 perspective exhibit truly makes you think. I hope we can learn from this exhibit and not make the same mistakes. The jury is still out on that.

Great museum on the history of Detroit from 1900 to present. It mainly focuses on the industrialization process and very little of the early years.
