Michael Aldridge

This is one of the best university art museums I have ever visited. They have a broad ranging collection with pieces by important artists in all of their galleries. I have also found their rotating exhibits to well curated and executed. On top of their high quality collection and exhibits, UMMA hosts many high quality free public events. Most notable are their Fridays After 5, and UMMA After Hours series, where the museum remains open late to make their exhibits more accessible for people with restricted schedules.

Taylor Martinez

Great museum with a wonderful variety of artists, regions, styles, mediums and periods. May be a little boring for smaller children as there are no hands on or children geared exhibits, just a well designed gallery. Suggested donation for admission is currently $10 per person and is matched by a donor. The jewelry and artwork for sale in the gift shop are to die for. See more pictures on Traveling Martinezes.

A Private User

This art mueseum consisted of poorly excecuted themes in various rooms of the museum. The museum was very overpriced just to see these peices of amateur art. The little children that run in screaming, and no doubt messing up the otherwise mediocre art. Want real art? Go to the DIA.

This is a wonderful museum, which usually has interesting temporary shows, as well as a good permanent collection. We very much enjoyed the exhibit of Japanese wood block prints, and, as always, liked the Havemayer collection of Tiffany glass.

Quite big collection of art, from old Chinese art to modern "art". Admission is voluntary and you will spend there few hours, if you are interested in art or even history (some of the exhibits are quite old, Chinese, Korean, Japanese etc.)

One of my favourite places in central campus. Occasionally events are held there with food provided. Enjoy free food and drink in a room full of oil paintings. I saw Monets painting there and Tiffanys glass decorations.

Cute little gallery. I liked the different areas you could go to. You think its just one room until you really start walking around. They really do have a lot of galleries. Nice stuff!
