Do not go here - way better deals everywhere else in southern MA. I have gone here twice now - first time I went I played a 2.5 hour round on a 2500 yard course. For those of you who play golf - you can understand how painful that is. I will also set the record straight that it is not a "links style" course - they have 1 shared green, and that is basically all they can claim from Scotland Links golf. And all for $28 bucks to boot! Second time I went, I showed up 15 minutes prior to a league going off, was told their earliest tee time was 1 hour hence, and didnt get a lot of flexibility from the pro-shop. When you have great courses like Norton, or even Wentworth who have twilight rates, why pay 28 to be hassled? Bungay is a nice course, but I dont understand how they can charge $28 for an adequate course, for only 9 holes when there are much nicer, perhaps better courses right around the corner. Supply and demand I suppose, they can count me out of the demand group though.

I agree with James!!! There isnt a course with better conditions (even Private) than Bungay Brook!!! Comparing Bungays professionally designed course to Heather Hill shows that "tkcool" (review on 11/13) may be cool but certainly not a golfer!!! Bungay’s friendly family owners and staff go out of their way to make all of us golfers feel like “it is our private course” (without the membership fees)! Another funny thing…I played all spring and summer and they had Twilight Rates the entire time (Craig)! When I show up at Bungay, I know they will be open (Wentworth opens and closes all the time). Bungay never has standing water – they open up after storms before any of the area courses – even after Hurricane Irene and the Nor’easter! The only thing I can say is “Play Bungay, fantastic conditions, a championship 9-hole course with a great bar!!!

How can anyone compare Bungay Brook to Maplegate in regards to layout and difficulty? That just totally discredits a review if your comparing a nine hole course thats essentially a giant field with a championship layout which obtains all the immenities of Bungay. People come on here to get legitimate reviews, telling them a nine hole course occupying an empty lot compares to a halfway decent real course isnt helping anyone. People are delusional if you think theres truly a clear cut superior course in such a dense area, and how is Bungay professionally designed? ITS IN A GIANT FEILD??? So Bungay is better than the Hale Irwin designed New England Country Club? I guess all the pros prefer to golf the same nine holes twice when they wanna do 18.......

Bungay is better than Sean and Craig say it is, but not as great as James and Addict say it is. Here is my take: The Pros: Nice looking, open layout, hardly any trees to lose a ball in. Laid back atmosphere. Usually not crowded with people. Many fun, pretty holes (e.g: par 3 with a lengthy carry over a hazard; a dogleg around a pond). Driving range. The Cons: Because there are few trees, adjacent fairways are a bit too close for comfort (players frequently take second shots from adjacent fairways; Fore!). The price is too high. $66 dollars for 18 with a cart on a summer weekend. Neutral: 9-hole course. Usually dont like them, but the holes here are good enough to make the "back" nine enjoyable.

Good course. Close to home. In great shape given the drought were in. Best for novice - intermediate player. Fairways are wide open for the most part.

Bungay Bungay Bungay! Incredibly well-maintained and manicured 9 Hole with a wide open layout that still possesses many challenges.
