The music is always good, and there is usually a fun crowd out on the dance floor. I really want to love this place, and did for a while, but... The beer is $1 or more, than anywhere else near Frenchmen, which is a little annoying. The great food on the back patio is no longer there, I used to eat there every chance I got. The bartenders always are a bit slow as they are usually talking to somebody, which is nice if youre that somebody, but if youre not... The last time I went, I saw one of the bartenders get huffy when she had to list off the light beer she had to a tourist, which they have decent selection out back, but not too many light beers. Then after the customer started to walk away she yelled at him to come back and told him that when she serves a beer she expects a tip and that he should just leave and not come back. I turned and left, but I wish I had said something, which is probably why Im writing this review. I almost always leave a tip for beer, but I certainly dont feel obligated to tip for someone to grab a bottle and pop the top. And the times I wont tip is if I dont think they do their job well, like they are being a bit rude or made me wait for 5 minutes while they have a conversation. I may eventually go back again, over looking this incident and the other things for the music and the fun crowd, but I certainly wont feel as good about going or recommend the place like I did when I first started going there.

Went in on a Monday for drinks and some live music. First off the live music is the reason to check this place out. The bar service is poor the drinks were good but the bar tender was more interested in her phone or flirting with dudes at the bar. We only had a chance to get two drinks because both girls working downstairs were more interested in taking shots with drunk dudes. I want to give this place 1 star but the musicians dont deserve that. If the music was as good as the bar service I would have easily dropped 100 bucks and rated this place 5 stars.

My husband and I were in New Orleans on vacation and had gone to Frenchmans Street to visit the music clubs there. We were getting ready to head back to our hotel when we passed the BMC. We went in and the music was fabulous. The band Deep Soul(?) was playing and if we had stopped there first, its the only club we would have gone to. I wasnt ready to leave when we did but you have to call it a night sometime. If I make it back down there, it will definitely be at the top of my list of places to visit.

Bellissima esperienza finalmente un posto adatto a sfuggire al "circo" per turisti di Bourbon Street. Ottima musica cibo passabile buona selezione di birre e cocktail considerando che è un luogo dove si va per ascoltare buona musica dal vivo

Awesome live music. Tasty bar food. I especially like the pizza rolls. They are big and flavorful. Good bar selection. There is a patio bar where you will have a nice time, with a drink of your choice. While listening to live music. Make sure to order an appetizer. The bartenders are very nice and friendly. I especially enjoyed chatting with Brady. Ask for her, she offers drink specials. And she is just simply nice and friendly to begin with. The bar is very nice looking too.

First of all, this is a dive bar. Its not corporate, its not pretty, its not sparkling clean. Its dark, musty, and small. But for authentic live music in an unpretentious joint in the French Quarter this is the place to be. No cover charge. Drinks are on the expensive side and seating is limited. But with music this good, who wants to sit? The older people who still enjoy a great band did sit and they looked like they were having a great time.

Went to NOLA for my birthday in 2014. We had some time to kill and passed by this corner gem on the way. Stopped in for a during and stayed for four of them! The band was amazing I even bought there cd! Beers were cold bartender was friendly. The only bar left with a old fashion cigarette matching that still works! Going back to NOLA in October for my 30th birthday. This will definitely be on my top list of places to revisit!

LOVE THIS BAR! We just happened to stop in on a Sunday evening, while visiting New Orleans, because it was the first bar we heard that had live music. The first band, Snake and The Charmers, were so much fun and played great music! The venue is cool, the drinks are cheap and the music is even better. I cant wait to go back the next time we visit!

On a Friday night, Im not sure how the back bar stays in business. It takes literally forever to get a drink at this place. I just dont ever remember waiting this long at any other establishment. We left, got drinks next door, finished them and then came back. (We were at a going away party).

Very inviting. One of the easier places to get into for good live music on a crowded night. They have no strict coverage charge policy. In fact, its almost an honor system. Youll respect this and wind up spending more money here than you thought you would. A brilliant business model!

I was visiting NOLA & walked by this place. I like blues & jazz music so I stopped as there was a live band, it was great. Wasnt super crowded which I think is nice both Friday & Saturday I was there (went twice), close to other places so you can hop. No cover.

Every band that plays here are great. The food is yummy as are some of their signature drinks. Best of all the customer service of the staff. Highly recommend getting of Bourbon to check out BMC, and ask for Actress Michelle Torres to serve u!

BMC usually has great music for free. The newest set up with the bar and stage switching places seems to work better than the old one. Bathrooms are decent for the French Quarter/Frenchmen, and theres a chill courtyard in the back for resting.

Great atmosphere with a relaxed crowd and friendly bar staff. Came in the early evening was not overcrowded but started to get busy quickly, would recommend coming early if you would like a table! Great music on the evening we came as well.

Wonderful club with generous drinks, good food, and last, but not certainly not least, FANTASTIC live music acts. Even if you dont like bars or to drink much, seriously, come here for the music. You will not be disappointed.

3 stars because the music was good. Otherwise its a pretty grungy place with very little beer selection. Decent sized stage and if they have a good act might be worth sticking around for a bit.

OUTSTANDING MUSIC. Daper Dandies is wonderful. Atmosphere is great, music great, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting old school New Orleans. No Cover charge.
