Its been several years since I had been here before New Years Eve 2016. We went for an Iowa womens basketball game (vs. Nebraska) since we had procured free tickets through our credit union. Parking was free, and seemingly plentiful (probably because of the timing and who was playing). I wish you could bring in your own (even empty) water bottle because I refuse to be ripped off by paying $4 for a bottle of water. We ended up getting a small cup to fill at the drinking fountain. We had great seats for the game, but Ive been to other games that the crowd was more pumped up. Lots of black & gold everywhere, of course, but lots of concrete as well. Bathrooms were clean enough, but can there ever be enough bathrooms at venues such as this? Nope! There was a long line after the game.

Ive travelled to Big 10 and Big 12 arenas all over the midwest and this arena was my least favorite. The parking is horrendous. Its right in the middle of the city so theres no free parking unless you walk miles in the cold. I had to settle for rip off college students charging $20 a spot in their yard. The seating is one giant bowl and youre pretty much sitting on top of the people around you. The building was extremely hot and the bathrooms were nasty which is saying a lot when were talking about a sporting venue. The fans didnt get very excited for the home team and it was all around a bad experience for me. The alumni seriously need to send this arena some money instead of sending it all into the football stadium.

Carver is great, really awesome what they did 2016 with new displays, very high quality. All parking is not far and plenty of restrooms and concessions. Parking abundant off of Hawkins... Also the busiest road leading to Carver so allow time. Finkbine Commuter always room and not a far walk. North Kinnick lot open as well. $5 parking not bad. Ive been to 8 home games the last two years and never an issue, traffic can be bad, but never an issue with Carver. #GoHawks

Great place to watching basketball or volleyball games. Also graduación ceremonies take place there. I go to watch some basketball games because my son is in Pep band. A few weeks ago we watched both teams and during the first game there was a wrong alarm and everybody had to evacuate which is hard to go all the way up the stairs, dont want to imagine the chaos of a real emergency when its crowded.

An Iowa City Landmark & place everyone should visit when theyre in the area. They recently made some additional changes/upgrades & theyre great. New electronic scoreboard, new marquee hanging over center court with LARGE digital screens for easier viewing. It really brightens up everything as well. Other than the ice cream lines being 50 people long at all times, I love this place!

Why do they make you stand in line for concessions for so long? Multiple concessions were not open for the Ladies Bball game vs. Indiana, why? Even Wally World treats their customers better than CHA.

What a great venue for the 2012 USA Olympic wrestling trials!!! I brought my boys up here from So Illinois and we had a blast all weekend at the arena and downtown in Iowa City.

Great place to watch a game. Yes parking is an issue, but Ive been to very few pro/NCAA venues where it is not. Almost not a bad seat in the house.

Cool arena, parking is confusing and limited. The people are generally indifferent to others, so the feeling you get isnt as spirited.
