Came in town for the IHSA 3A/4A Boys State Basketball Championship at The Civic Center and boosted the local economy between sessions. On Friday, we hit Crusens (near our hotel) to watch some NCAA games and get food. I ordered the Fish Sandwich Special, and it was one of the all-time worst values Ive ever experienced and it cost $12 (including drink of lemonade), after tax and tip! Well, The Food Gods took notice and Saturday afternoon, between sessions, we were seemingly guided by an invisible hand to The Rhythm Kitchen. Furnished like a diner, and the tables were authentic in that half of them were stabilized by some type of folded napkin or paper wedged between the table footing and floor. Didnt get to hear The Brazillionaires (they were setting up during our meal), but the story here were "The Specials" written on a white board hanging on the wall. Though Gumbo and Jambalaya were available, I chose the Shrimp Creole with brown rice and sweet biscuit and it was superb! The seasoning and spices were A+ Cajun cooking. Simply put The Rhythm Kitchens Shrimp Creole is the reason why we pay someone to cook. By the way, I was charged $10.95 for the dish. Took only 24 hours, but The Food Gods sure did make things right!!!

Went there last night on a date. Arrived before the live music started. No more small tables, so we sat at a larger one. Mind you, there were only 4 tables in the whole place that were 2 or 4 tops. The plan was to get dinner and listen to the band. We were approached by an employee that told us we had to sit at the bar unless we had a bigger party. We obliged, as to not make a big deal about it. The bar tender was pleasant and helpful. The beer selection is well rounded as well as the wine list. I ordered the tilapia and my date had the veggie wrap. The fish was dry. The wrap was mostly lettuce and not too flavorful. My opinion is that the food should have been higher quality for the price. We didnt have appetizers, but the ones being served to other patrons looked better than the main courses we had. I would only recommend this establishment for larger parties that want appetizers and drinks.

Absolutely loved everything about this place! Very unique in every way. We sat at the bar and had prompt service from a super friendly bartender, unfortunately I forgot to ask her name but she was awesome! The drinks were delicious and the food was to die for! I ordered the pesto caprese chicken sandwich with red beans and rice. I could honestly eat it every day of my life! I was stuffed full after eating half of the sandwich but it was so delicious I couldnt stop eating. I left there completely satisfied and happy. It is just a feel good place all around! Definitely my new favorite place to go in Peoria!!!

My boyfriend and I ordered at the bar to-go, paid after we ordered, and waited for an hour and a half for two orders. People were taking tables without talking to the hostess and were somehow getting served before us. We found out that our food was ready awhile ago and an employee just set the to-go boxes down without telling anyone where to deliver them to. The bartender finally got our food 2 hours later and gave it to us. By the time we returned home, the food was cold and unappetizing. We will not be returning. Completely disorganized & overpriced for such horrible service & uneatable food.

My husband and I went out for date night and got seated right away and no waiter EVER came to our table. The waiter made eye contact and looked at us several times. After 20 minutes we left. The people next to us said it took an hour to get water and an appetizer. We walked out and went to The Blue Duck across the street and they wanted our business.

We love this place. Great food (jerk chicken, tuna, and red beans and rice are among our favorites) and desserts. We typically eat here on Friday or Saturday nights to listen to the live bands. No cover plus they dont mind if you come in, eat and stay for the music. While you are listening to the music munch on the cheese/fruit plate.

Seriously, a quaint venue, with several things you would not expect. 1. cajun food that is really good. 2. Music every Friday and Saturday, which varies, but you can hear some real gems here. Sarah is the bartender on Friday and Saturday, and I prefer to sit at the bar for that reason!

I went to Rhythm Kitchen for the first time last month and was more than happy. The atmosphere is fun and energetic. The staff is incredibly friendly and positive. Food is made quickly and is super delicious. I recommend the Salmon Salad but everything we ordered was amazing.

The atmosphere was awesome, food was super and the price was unbeatable. They had a live band that was out of this world. We had a great time. I highly recommend this place for casual dinner and or drinks. You will be impressed with every aspect of their business.

We gave them a 5-10 minute heads up that my bachelorette party will be coming to their restaurant. They had the table set up and were very attentive to my party! The food and vibe was AMAZING! When I am back in Illinois I will be returning!

Came with a party of seven and just beat the evening rush. They had live music and even before the music it was tough to hear others in the party. The food was really good though and, if youre into it, the music was good too.

Stayed at the Embassy Suites and then took a walk to the Rhythm Kitchen. It was totally worth the walk! The entire staff was hospitable, the food was delicious, and they had a fun atmosphere with a live band.

Quality menu options (try the bacon cheeseburger with ghost pepper cheese!), a very unique decor, and great taste in live and recorded music. In a good spot, near other bars and restaurants by the river.

We had lunch and the food was good service as well. At night we came late for drinks and the bar tender almost brought the check before giving us the drinks. Very unprofessional way to treat tourists.

Great service, our waitress knows the brand of beer that I like better than I do. The food is home cooked and has been good for years too.
