Sadly, the venue is now ten years old, built in 2006 for 37 million bucks, and it has been an absolute boondoggle for Bloomington, losing money each year. It has poor parking, tight seats, was not constructed property for flow of people, including the bathrooms, and its an absolute noose, fiscally, for the taxpayers. Its chosen location is "hidden in plain sight". Add to that an inept venue management company for the first decade and one could expect an unfilled schedule, poor attendance to lackluster acts, and not even close to the promised boost to the downtown city economy that is sorely needed. This is the quintessential example of a city trying to make money directly on what should be a private enterprise; the city has not the time, experience, or smarts to hire the right management, let alone operate it themselves. Better acts and facilities are, for example, right down the street at the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts, which has fewer seats, but better parking, better visibility, and a quite full schedule (and may still be owned by the city, but a different management company and agreement( As reported in The Pantagraph in early 2016, the current management company has thrown in the towel and chose to say goodbye to the albatross, as did US Cellular, the naming sponsor. Bloomington goes back to the well with their leaking ladle to draw on the foul waters of another corporate management company, Venuworks, this time with better terms, so they think. Lipstick on a pig.

This is not a bad review on the Coliseum itself, but more about the ICE race event we seen Jan 21, 2017. For the $80 it cost for 2 adults and 1 child, I felt it was overprices for the performance. Lot of filler racing with very amateur wannabes. Trying to start amateur heats was a mess and the start/finish gate almost fell over because someone ran into it before they even started. No one was prepared or looked like they new what was going on. Not much actual competitive racing. The Announcer was a joke. Screwing up names, pausing because he messed up or couldnt think of what to say next. The actual competitive racing was great and hats off to those racers for a good show, but for the money I expected a better organized event from the Coliseum. I can go to STL for same cost and see much better organized event that you get your moneys worth. I think this was about a $10 per person event.

I saw Chris Stapleton here with my wife. This place has poor acoustics and terrible parking. When we entered the event we were supposed to have VIP seating with an optional souvenir. Well the staff could not tell us where we needed to go to get our tickets or the souvenir. I was honestly really disappointed with this arena, but happy with the concert.

Boston and Jefferson Starship rocked! Both put on great shows and played all the old favorites. Nice smaller arena. Seemed like good seats all around. Much better than the new mega arenas where you can end up so far away. Convenient parking in surface lots close to arena, or there was a parking garage too.

The coliseum is a nice resource to have in town. Concerts, hockey, football and more. There can be a long wait at the concessions, but they are often staffed by volunteers, so give them some slack.

Saw A7X and Deftones here, best sound system Ive ever heard in my life. Highs are crisp and clean, you can feel the bass, it shakes the building.

The seats are wayyy too low to the ground and theres little to no leg room. Our whole row sat sideways to stretch our legs. Im only 55"
