WORST experience I have ever had in all of my Life!!!!! So heres the story we arrive in VIP and our party purchase 2 bottles of Hennessy at 275 dollars per bottle! My Spouse and I were assulted by a bouncer, then several other bouncers joined in on the assult. One bouncer put his hand way up my skirt and tried to pull my legs out from under me to knock my down the stairs while another was twisting my arm behind back; in my own defense I did fight back. The entire time that was happening to me 2 bouncers were taking turns, 1 choking my spouse and the other putting him in a head lock. This was more than excessive force!!! And honestly there was Absolutely no reason this should have ever happened my spouse nor I were violating any rules or regulation of the club. Nor were we offending or disrespecting the bouncer or any other guest!! Never the less we were escorted out in the worst way. The bouncers acted like they were doing us a favor for not arresting us when in reality they just dont want to go to court and show the video that proves their bouncer started the whole ordeal. And even once we were out side of the club they continued to instigate a fight out of my spouse. It was so bad I just left behind all of my belonging, which included a pair of Victoria secret high heels, Victoria secret purse and my camera

They over charged me by over $100 for one bottle service and claimed the same night they cleared the transaction and edited it even gave me a new receipt to sign, oddly enough they made me sign a customer copy. Never gave me a copy. My bank had to fight them for a month to get my funds back because my bank said the club never changed it or refunded the difference! Never going there again. Plus the bathroom is placed all the way on the other side of the building. No bathrooms near the VIP area. It was a pain to go up and down 3 flights of stair in 5 inch heels. This place is so ghetto and unprofessional!

As far as clubs go Detention is pretty cool, they are open 3 nights a week and have a pretty diverse crowd. The Bartenders and staff are extremely nice and professional, having worked in the nightclub business for many years... I have seen a lot! These guys know how to treat their customers and the overall vibe of the club is high energy but not over the top. The gogo dancers are hot, the djs are on point and the drinks are strong. Only thing I could say bad about this place is there are so many stairs to get to the bathrooms and it is located on the 2nd floor. Other than that... A+

I always get free entry from the text messages I signed up for and sometimes free drinks. Its Jersey Shore mixed with Fraternity row but its definitely a good place to just forget what happened that week and just do things you will regret the next day. The bouncers are kind of assholes about the no hats policy and will make you leave it on top of the stairs. I was worried somebody was going to jack my hat till I left with it. Also, I think I burned my way to a 200 dollar tab early before I told myself I needed to be cut off. Mixed drinks are expensive here.

Theyre racist here.. They only allow White people to wear shorts. I came with shorts as I am a visitor form another stater where it is ok to wear shorts to even the nicest clubs. I was told no shorts but I waited around and saw a White man walk in with shorts on no questions. Its sad we dont have these problems in Vegas. Went to a club next door and was told that shorts were ok.. So sad Chicago with all the racism.

I went to detention night club over the Labor Day weekend. Do not go to the bartender to the left side of the entrance and ask for receipt at all times, she overcharged my debit card by $33 on a $32 tab, clearing $65. Did she think she can actually get away with something like this? Ive started a dispute with my bank and will be contacting the merchant once they open.

Always packed always a great time I love working here 4 years strong, Ive DJed in many many places in my 21 years in this industry in and outta state and by far this has been 1 my favorite venues. Top notch staff, service, music and atmosphere plus really good deals on drinks, bottles, and VIP party packs definitely the place to be dress to impress. DJ TOON

One of my favorite places to DJ. Great vibe and always packed with fun people. When people ask me where they can fund a fun place to dance to good music Detention Nightclub is always at the top of my list. Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays. oh yea, and the bartenders are amazing. Just dress Appropriately, there IS a dress code.

This place is terrible cramped and the managers and staff have no clue what they are doing do not go here !!!!! Payed 700$ on NYE to sit at the smallest table I have ever seen . Had the reservation for 2 weeks and still had to wait in line this place is a joke. Do Not go here. Rude staff rude people terrible service .

This is one of my favorite venues to DJ at... GM is awesome along with the security team and the bartenders are fabulous!!. Always a good time when Im here and of course the vibes are great!!! Definitely a venue to visit and enjoy because you never know who might make an appearance. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Eh, bouncers are aggressive. Kicked me out even though I did nothing. Drinks take forever to get to you and the service is very rude. Good music on certain days hence the 2 star rating. Wouldnt recommend going here over the other amazing night clubs in chicago.

I will never visit this place again. Was invited by a promoter who happened to bring his girlfriend, His girlfriend was completely rude to us. Wasnt there for drama! Next time I suggest not inviting your girl to your job if shes going to cause drama!

Horrible service rude people at the door. I get its a club but you cant be rude to people spending money in your establishment. They wouldnt let people with tattoos in??? Usually they have good music but Idk I am definitely not going back.

In the recent months of this post Detention has really stepped up its game. Expect to experience great music, incredible lights, and fantastic go-go dancers. Usually free with a text or password, make sure to buy some drinks!

The bartenders are nice, the place is nice too but the crowd wasnt what I expected...Im 32 years old and there was more younger crowd like 21..men rarely asked girls to dance..they will just stand there looking like idiots.

Rude and inconsiderate staff which makes the experience unappealing. Been here multiple times and have always experienced the same rude staff and environment. Bar itself is fun but can get chaotic and very crowded.
