One word to describe this place: Underwhelming. For the amount of money I spent I was expecting a lot more. If youre in your 70s and you want to revisit a place from your 20s this will be perfect for you. I didnt see anyone in the place until I checked out. Somehow in the booking process they booked me in the wrong room, and no one was there to talk to about it to fix it. Their booking process was also horribly vague so I couldnt even catch the error until I got my keys and checked in. I could hear people overnight walking around from the hardwood floors creaking straight out of a bad horror movie. This place is advertised as a romantic getaway destination, and is also why I booked here. After booking my room, I received an email detailing exactly how much fun and romance I wouldnt be having. You know what says romantic? NO candles, NO incense, NO massage oils, NO food or drinks in the room! However if you want to pay the additional cash, they will pamper you with a massage from their staff. No thanks.. The biggest reason I booked there was the heart shaped hot-tub, which due to said booking error I didnt get to use. Hot tub in your room? Cant use it past 10PM. Awesome. Nothing says fun, and relaxing like going through rule after rule after rule about what you can and can not do for a simple bed and breakfast. I felt more like I was back at my parents house trying to keep quiet as not to wake Mom and Dad with my date. Worst experience ever. I wouldnt ever go back there. I would have had more fun dropping 50 bucks and staying at a chain hotel, instead of the 300 I blew for one night. Awesome way to spend my honeymoon.

We just couldnt wait to go back...and so we did!! We took a short detour from our six day Route 66 road trip so that we could stay at the Beall Mansion Bed and Breakfast. When I mentioned wed be spending the night at a B&B that was also a mansion, my wife got excited. When I told her they have a 24/7 gourmet chocolate buffet, she nearly fainted. When she asked if wed miss Dancing with the Stars, I said "No, they have flat screen tvs.", well she nearly cried. When, upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by the butler, we both got flush and felt like royalty. (Jim, the co-owner along with his lovely wife Sandy, plays the role of the butler quite well and seems to relish it) The home has been lovingly restored by Jim & Sandy and the antiques, decor and atmosphere within it are worth the price of admission alone. We stayed in the Servants Quarters room (Who knew servants had it so good?) & chose the continental breakfast and enjoyed it, but next time well have to try the gourmet breakfast in bed! After our short stay we hated to leave but the Mother Road beckoned. Well, it took us all of three days, but we just couldnt wait to go back...and so we did. This time we stayed in the spacious and lovely Veranda room and perused the wonderful jacuzzi after a long day of Mother Roading (not to mention fighting rush hour traffic in St. Louis!) Later, we got some fresh air on our own private veranda. Weve stayed at some nice B&Bs, including a handful in the UK, but THIS is living. Ah, but alas, ol man time once again asked us to return to our real world back home in Indiana. But (ler), we shall return!!!

My beautiful bride and I choose to have an intimate wedding, actually to elope. Our search for locations brought us to the Beall Mansion. The mansion is absolutely beautiful and from a time when craftsmanship and artistry were a part of every detail. Throughout the mansion are fine marble and antique furnishings which set the tone for an elegant stay. Jim and Sandy are the most amazing hosts you could ever hope for, attending to every need and detail. When you arrive it is obvious that these are caring and very professional “innkeepers”. Organic chocolates and teas are just a small sample of what the Beall Mansion provides for their guests. If I had to describe the Beall mansion in one word that word would be “real”. You can find mass produced blah and uniformity elsewhere, this place is all about being special and genuine. In addition to being such a wonderful place to stay the staff did an excellent job of facilitating our wedding. They provided our wonderful minister, witnesses and even put us in contact with an excellent photographer. Whether you are looking for a quiet and beautiful place to stay or you want to be married in a location that provides classic appeal and romance the Beall Mansion is where you want to stay. The Mansion is like coming into your own home, albeit the decor may be very different. I liked that there wasnt a welcoming staff when we arrived, although I imagine there normal is. Jim had called to welcome us and to say he and Sandy were shopping. My friend and I appreciated the quiet and ease of our arrival. We were able to take a look around, unpack and get acclimated at our on pace. There were instructions on how to reach the managers should we need them, but it felt more like coming home than arriving at a hotel. The home is beautifully kept filled with exquisite antiques. Jim will give a very informative tour and history of the mansion upon request. It is spotlessly clean and welcoming - with lights on in the public rooms at all times of day or night. The butlers pantry was open for snacks or coffee at all times as well. And the bar with assorted chocolates available 24 hours a day was an added surprise. The continental breakfast was great as was the jacuzzi bathtub with bath salts to maximize relaxation. They provided a list of local restaurants, their addresses and phone numbers to gel us get around with ease. Jim and Sandy are excellent hosts - friendly, unassuming and always ready to make your stay more enjoyable. I will definitely come back - It is a peaceful haven I will never forget.

This place is awesome. My fiance and I could not have been happier with the service. I have been to a few five star hotels and they could not hold a candle to the grandeur and artistry of this place. The architecture and the antiques inside of this victorian mansion are reason enough to visit. We got a great deal on groupon and it paid off. Rose pedals on the beds, heart shaped hot tub, chocolate buffet, free bath salts, complimentary champagne, a smooth brandy for a night cap, what more should be said. This place will sweep any woman off of her feet. This is not a party house or a playhouse mind you but if you want to please that special someone you can not go wrong with this choice. The two owners made sure everything was to our liking and always made sure we were satisfied. We would definitely recommend the Beall Mansion to anyone looking for a romantic stay.

A wonderful time! I took my wife to the Beall Mansion for her birthday and she loved it. Jim and Sandy made us feel very welcome. They have done a wonderful job restoring this beautiful home. The decorating and all the antiques fit the home perfectly. Their attention to detail is refreshing. The online reservations were very easy and they confirmed quickly and asked questions about us and our occasion so they could meet all our needs. The room was spacious and comfy, complete with fireplace and a very comfortable bed. The chocolate buffet and complimentary beverages are a very nice touch. The breakfast and service were outstanding. If you are looking for a relaxing or romantic getaway you will be very happy with this lovely B&B.
