I really wanted to like this place. I went here after moving back to Gwinnett and was looking for a new spot my friends and I could visit regularly. Unfortunately, the visit ended up being my worst experience at a restaurant ever. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. It took just a little over 40 minutes to get my food but it was busy so I was understanding but when it arrived it was actually cold. I was trying to ask the waitress to see if it was possible to heat it up but she left in a hurry and didnt hear me. When I got down to the last piece of my quesadilla I found a long curly black hair in it. I was so disgusted it nearly made me gag. I couldnt even look at my plate. I told the waitress and she said she couldnt do anything because I had already ate most of the quesadilla. I work in a customer service related field and this job was certainly not for her. She was very combative and had a really bad attitude. I felt like it wasnt me personally and like she really just hated her job. It was really tense talking to her. Her name was princess or precious I cant remember. They were playing overplayed radio rap music so loud that it made it difficult to have a conversation while waiting 40 minutes for the food. She also didnt give me any change until I reminded her to do so and than only brought a dollar back and left quickly after throwing it on the table. I could tell she was having a bad night but at this point so was I. I totally regret the experience. The establishment is very low class. If you are a mature professional person who occasionally likes a drink, meal, and good service than please do not waste your time or hard earned money here. Im also going to write a yelp review posting the picture of the hair I found in my quesadilla.

Im rating this one star not because of the place itself, but because of the piss poor service I received from the bartender. I have gone out to lots of places & I tip VERY well. I do have to say after the NASTY service I received from my bartender(lightskined, chest tattoo) last week Saturday, I will NOT be returning. She only paid attention to her male customers, ATTEMPTING to flaunt her assets. Which were very poorly surgically enhanced, may I add. She didnt even say hi. She just asked me what I wanted. I asked her to give me a minute to look over the menu & she danced right over to the gentelmen she was serving & took her time coming back to me. Anytime I needed her she was nowhere to be found. At one point I even saw her dancing in the VIP. I watched another bartender (facing the dancefloor) gracefully pick up her slack and she did a very good job handling a sudden rush of customers by herself as her partner was too busy having fun. Maybe take her off of the bar until she is retrained & can learn to properly greet the people who pay her bills & keep a roof over her head. She needs to be retrained, simple as that. I could say much more but I think Ive made my point. ALL IN ALL, DO GIVE BARNACLES A TRY. JUST DONT SIT WITH THE LIGHTSKIN BARTENDER WITH THE FAKE BUTT & GHETTO BRAIDS & BEWARE OF THE $50 CC RULE. Waitress will look for you in restroom to pay her.When i attempted to pay, noone was at bar to make payment. Waitress approached me on dance floor with a nasty attitude. I refused to give her my card and requested management. Security officer handled the situation with respect and asked another waitress to take my payment. This waitress lied on security, she tried to rushed me from my table.I entered this place between 830pm and 9pm to have dinner and drinks... There was not a steady flow of people coming in at 11pm so why would she rushed me away? I sat there and continued to drink. I understand waitresses work for tips but when you come to work with ATTITUDE, You will not get TIPS!!! I TIPPED THE LADY IN WOMENS RESTROOM! !!!!!!!She was Nicer to me than the waitress! ! Hire the right waitresses and bartenders at your NEW ROSWELL LOCATION !! CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT!!!! I will call management Monday!

I used to work here 6/7 years ago. It has since undergone new management and gone downhill. The food is not as good as it used to be. It seems like they are more interested in money then ensuring their customers are satisfied. I know one of the new owners and even after complaining to him about the food which were crab legs that were over priced and still dry. He did nothing to ensure I would get a fresh bucket or give me a discount. The only thing I was offered was to re steam them which dried them out more. So then I received my bill after tipping the server, $20 which she did not deserve only to find out she took gratuity off of my bill. There were only two people at my table and gratuity came to $13 so, her tip was $33 my bill was $96. Go figure, I counted my loss but that will never happen again.

Ordered a drink and did not match the ingredients listed. I am allergic to coconut. Nowhere does the drink say there is coconut in it and I informed the waitress. Manager refused to come to my table to address the matter. Instead, she called security on me. She told the waitress she would be responsible for the tab if I did not pay for it. If you are allergic to coconut, dont order the Jamaican Ziggy off of the new menu. Apparently, Barnacles is doing real bad nowadays because we had to switch tables since they cant replace thelight bulbs. We had to switch tables because no one could change the light bulbs at not one but 2 of the booths. The management really needs to do better. If THEY are providing poor service I would hate to see what the staff will do in the future.

If I could leave an review without giving a star I would!!!!This is by far the absolute WORST establishment I have ever attended. I love my black people but we have to we need to grasp an understanding of customer service before we invest into to the service industry. We waited in line to get in for atleast an hour for tables we paid for in advance. The food was subpar and took a lifetime to come out. The ac and fans were running on high giving most of us colds. We finally got the fans cut off after the club ran out of pitchers to serve others and we were able to negotiate with them lol. Then they turned the ac on super blast lmao.... Do not waste your time or money. This establishment may last for 6 months... #shutdown

I can honestly say this place has improved 1000%. last night was a very busy night and my friends and I received our meals less than 15mins. I can honestly say things has changed since opening up. I think everyone should give this place a chance since its been 10 years since it was last on the east side. Its just like first day of school, nothing goes right and you have to wait all day before you get settle in at a school so I think we need to treat this place the same. Everyone please be patient! Just give this place another try! Food is great and drinks even better!
