while the course is local, its not the best around. Lauren, you mentioned the fairways. theyre horrible! there is no real definition between the rough and the fairways on any hole. they dont even use a fairway unit to mow them. in fact, they dont own a fairway unit. I was at Mystery Valley last week, a course that DeKalb county owns and operates, and it was awesome. fairways were stripped up and the greens were in better shape than double Oaks. now theyre "making it easier to find your golf ball" by cleaning up some of the areas between certain holes...bad move in my opinion. if you lose your ball then you lose it. make the course harder, more challenging, change the pin location!!! we played there the other day and the "fairways" were brown because all of the grass clippings were left...due to infrequent mowing. weve also played several times previously and neither the greens, "fairways", or tees were mowed. thats not a golf course when you do that, thats someones playground. what they could use, and benefit from, is a real golf course superintendent. now about the staff, they are a great bunch of guys and ladies. the teaching professional, Jeff, is great, especially with the junior golfers. my kid has taken lessons from him since she started playing golf. in general, the course is a great value. its location and price are what keeps us going there. simple changes could be made to the course that would attract a higher class of players....ones that dont play in jeans and a t-shirt. thats something Id expect to see at deer trial, or as we local people call it "beer trail". all it takes is a little effort and time. better "fairways" equals more money. the better the course the more money you can charge and I would gladly pay more to play a better looking course. all in all, like I said, the people there are great. just make some simple changes and I would rate this course higher and brag about it more. possibly even pay the membership fee. but for now, the staff, location, and price is what keeps me coming back to play.

Track is mediocre, but the service is terrible. My foursome was yelled at for taking too long at the turn (you have to microwave their hotdogs, so it was about six minutes total), allowing the group behind us to catch up. Rather than simply letting them play through, the owner berated and yelled at us. We made him give us half of our greens fee back and left the course. He was like Judge Elihu Smalls, but more of a jerk. Will never go back.

Seeing all the work that has been put into the course over the winter season really shows now that the summer has arrived. Play the course at least once a week and have noticed the little changes that the maintenance crew has made. Make me proud to have a course that takes the level of pride in making sure that the course look as wonderful as it does now.

Good golf course for the price, would advise to call before going to make sure a group is not ahead of you. Course is in good shape, putt before you start playing to get the speed. If you plan to hit balls before you play call and make sure someone is at driving range. The range is just before you get to the course.

Great People. The management goes out of their way to accomodate your requests. Greens are spectacular and fairways are really starting to grow in great. Track is player friendly yet still challenging. Very busy place due to large group member play. Call ahead advised.

Great for a unscheduled, no tee time round of golf! Beautifully maintained...but hole 7 is my arch nemesis! I always want to hook right, right into the forest. But thats all me, not the hole. 18 gorgeous holes, a cart and $28 = priceless

While not a potential US Open venue, a reasonbly-priced place to play a fun round of golf. This course will often forgive a bad shot as well as reward a good one. Always in good condition. Staff is friendly. No snack cart.

Good golf course. Nice pro shop. Well kept fairways and greens. Some of the tee boxes are a little rough. Overall great course for the price. Its just missing that "wow" factor like some other courses in the area.
