I have been playing at lane creek golf course for over 15 years now and I went to play a round of 18 holes on Saturday June 10th there. I had the most unpleasant experience I have ever even witnessed from a professional business. I teed off with a group of four players at 3:30PM which was actually scheduled for 2:45PM, due to poor scheduling on the golf course managers behalf. During the first nine holes of the course we were asked to speed up our pace a total of four times. In my opinion that is absolutely ridiculous, I may have been asked a total of two times in my 15 years of golf to speed up my playing pace. I think the remark is very disrespectful for a paying customer. The altercation between me and the course manager ended up with him accusing me of never playing golf before and him asking us to leave after the end of the first nine holes and to never come back again. I will give the golf manager the benefit of the doubt because he was kind enough to refund us the money for the second 9 holes we did not get to play. To put things in prospective at this time we were on hole number seven and it was 5:00PM, this was one hour and thirty minutes after we had teed off. The golf manager himself told us that a round of 18 holes should take an average of four hours to finish, according to his statement we were right on time. A lot of this mangers attitude more than likely was caused because of the stress from the busy day and the fact that I am only 20 years old writing this along with the others I was playing with. I have always treated the game of golf with respect and my elders as well, I think that young people are not respected in todays society which I understand. At 20 years old I own my own house, work as a parts salesmen at Athens BMW and have plans of serving our country in the U.S. Coast Guard next year, if that isnt respectable Im not sure what is. I am writing this review to make sure the readers will not waste their time or money to play golf at lane creeks golf course. I am not one to ever use my spare time to talk bad about someone elses business but I really have enjoyed playing this course and think something should be done about this course manager. I can honestly say I will follow his instructions and not come back to play on the course as long as he is still there.

Lane Creek is a fun challenging golf course. I am by no means a professional golfer, I just simply enjoy the game. I generally shoot well at this course. It feels the most open of any I have played.

This is the best value in the area. Very well maintained and can play difficult from the blue tees. Greens are in great shape!! Professional staff and always accommodating. A fun place to play!!

If you are a golfer, whats not to like. Course is always in great shape. Excellent staff. Well organized and well run for tournaments, etc. Top notch practice area too.

Poor tee time management. Watch out for local people cutting in front of you. Many people walks and slows down the pace. Not worth 50min drive to play there.
