I live in Gainesville, Florida, but on Friday, July 20, 2012, I was in Tallahassee for the weekend. My mother died on July 12th, and I had a feeling I should go to synagogue to say Kaddish for her. Instead, I went to a grocery store to get something for dinner, where I saw a young man in a yarmulke and tallit. I asked him if there was a synagogue nearby, and he told me that we were very close to the Chabad Lubavitch center. I went there and was welcomed by the rabbi and his wife, charmed by their beautiful children, and enjoyed a lively Shabbat service and dinner. The congregation was energetic and engaged. Thank you for a lovely evening, and thank you Joshua, for leading me there.

Rabbi Oirechman not only offers classes and one on one sessions for all students and individuals of Tallahassee, but he also provides free shabbat services and meals every week. Chabad at FSU has a great atmosphere and is perfect for shabbat and all holidays. If you are passing through Tallahassee and need a place to observe any Jewish holiday, I highly recommend going to Chabad of the Panhandle.

Selfish, rude, culture-centric people quick to accuse others of being bigotted. Shifty, untrustworthy, greedy business people operating under the guise of religion. Also quick to threaten lawsuits. As always, DO NOT make the mistake of doing business without a SIGNED CONTRACT and detailed agreement. Research other options for Jewish worship before getting mixed up in this operation, PLEASE.
