I have been involved in four JCCs in my lifetime, but the new JCC in Southwest Orlando is by far the most friendly, welcoming "home away from home" there can be! My 2 children attend the afterschool program there, called "JU" or J University, and they absolutely love it! I cannot tear them away at the end of the day when I go to pick them up. There is a supervised homework center, so that when I pick them up, their homework is complete and checked. The afterschool enrichment programs are extremely high quality - and all under one roof! My son plays in the basketball league; my daughter is into the Musical Theatre program run by Theatre South, a top-notch arts center housed at the JCC. Last year, they put on Journey to Oz - a combo of The Wizard of the Oz, Wicked and The Wiz - it was over the top fabulous....many parents cried tears of joy at how much their children accomplished and learned in that session. And Summer Camp - WOW - its the best camp ever, with art, music, dance, science, sports, archery, water zone; many specialty camp options too, such as basketball camp, theatre camps, pop squad (dance, cheer & gymnastics). My children graduated from another JCC Preschool (in S FL), but everything I see and hear shows me this Early Childhood Program is amazing. JCC Preschools are known to be the best - and at this JCC, the teachers are well-trained, educated and loving. I know that many of the preschool graduates from Southwest Orlando test as gifted when they move onto elementary school, which is a testament to the high quality learning taking place at the JCC. The fitness center and exercise classes are great too, and all included in your membership. Very personalized attention, not too crowded like those other fitness places. Great yoga classes and boot camp too. The Kid Zone is an awesome place to keep your kids entertained while you work out or take a class. The JCC is the place to be, and our family wouldnt be complete without the JCC in our lives. You should make this your home away from home!!

I have lived in South Orlando for 15 years and it wasnt until the JCC opened on Apopka-Vineland that I can honestly say my family has a place we feel is a true community. My seven year old daughter has been going to their after school program, J University, since the day it opened. As a working mom, it is so convenient that they pick her up from Sand Lake Elementary. And, I know she is well taken care of with a low teacher to student ratio. She has met new friends she would not meet because they go to other schools, she does all her homework, and has been learning great leadership skills. An added benefit is that she can do karate or dance or be in a play when she participates in their extra curricular activities. I cant be there to drive her to practices, but as long as she is at the J already, she can enjoy these things because they are all under the same roof. PLUS - all the days that school is out, she can go to the J and hang out with her friends all day and it is INCLUDED in the price. I recommend the JCC very highly. It does not matter what religious affiliation you are. That is not their focus. Their focus is fun, safety, learning and creating bonds that I am sure will last a lifetime. And, there is stuff for the adults too. My boyfriend plays basketball there and we both go to the fitness center. It is great to be in a smaller environment where you are never fighting for equiptment. And the equiptment is well taken care of because it feels like we own it vs. just a member like the other gyms we have belonged to. They do lots of cool events so we have met lots of people and have made some great new friendships of our own. Come check out the J (as we like to call it). We hope to see ya there!

Both of my children have attended the JCC since we moved to Orlando and they love it! First, let me say that we are not Jewish and we have always felt welcomed and included here. My children have made great friends there and never want to go home at the end of the day. The preschool is top-notch. After touring all the schools in the area, we decided on the JCC. It was the cleanest school and the most secure. There are many layers of security protecting the children. The preschool staff is warm and caring and we had a great experience all three years there. The after school program is great too! They pick the kids up, bring them back to the JCC to do homework, play and have a snack. There are planned activities everyday so the kids dont get bored. Summer camp was awesome too! The field trips the kids take are crazy! Each week- they go somewhere like Disney, Sea World, etc. The kids are definitely tired by the end of the day. The also offer Saturday Night Out programs so the parents can have some "adult time" while the kids play with their friends - cheaper than a babysitter too!

The new JCC South Campus on Apopka Vineland road is a jewel in the crown of the community it serves. The pre-school continues to be the recipient of numerous awards for its ability to deliver quality education to our children. The facility itself is beautiful from the gymnasium to state of the art classrooms and the special programs offered to seniors, adults, and our youth. My daughter is a graduate of the pre-school and has reaped the benefits of the quality early learning skills environment delivered at the "J" that has led her to be a quality student in Orange Countys elementary school system. She continues to benefit from theater camp and sports activities available at the JCC. Our family is involved in the "J" and supports the continued efforts of the exceptional staff whose focus has created a community center that is vibrant to the city of Orlando and its surrounding communities.

I have had both of my children at the JCC for the past few years. My older son has just started kindergarten and I was so upset to see him leave the JCC, so I signed him up for the after school program, which he loves just as much as his time at the early childhood learning center. I still have my younger son at the JCC full-time monday through friday (he is 3 years old) and absolutely loves it! The teachers are just so great, they really care about the children and the parents. They go out of their way everyday for the kids and go above and beyond in everything they do. I would never send my kids anywhere else. It was important to me to find people who loved my kids as much as I did and thats hard to find in a day care provider. I am so happy that I have found that with the JCC.

The classroom was just as we had envisioned...and we had HIGH hopes and expectations, all of which were met! We took our son here for a few "transition days" before beginning school and he didnt want to leave...thats usually a pretty good sign that the children enjoy where they are. We feel blessed to have finally found a well-rounded place for our most important member of the family in our absence. Theres tender care here, the curriculum is age appropriate and the children seem to enjoy going to school here! This school, the teachers and the staff all made our transition a true relief! We highly recommend this school!!!
