This has to be one of my favorite parks. There are plenty of nature trails, board walks, and benches. Not to mention there is a fairly large playset for the kids. There is a boat ramp and a few places to dock. Dont forget to take a photo in the oversized Adirondack chair or by the lighthouse! Parking can be a tough near the park, but there are public parking lots and even a free parking garage a quick walk away. The effort to find parking will be well worth it if youre looking for a great place to explore or go for a walk. Saturdays appear to be especially busy, so take heed

People who smoke have no respect for people who dont or childrens health at Gilbert Park, someone is usually sitting right by the Smoking Prohibited on Grounds sign, right by the playground equipment, doing just that or walking around in the playground area filling the entire area with cigarette smoke. When I mentioned to the people smoking in the playground by the No Smoking sign, they told me that I was bothering them, until a Deputy showed up and they left... The Nature area is beautiful, love the little river and waterfall and the boardwalk.

I really enjoy taking my girls here. It is a nice bday party location, a morning, before nap get your booty tired location, they have a lighthouse to walk down by the lake to, bring bread and feed the ducks and birds. If you have a boat or jetskis- this is a nice place to dock from. Has planty of benches to sit at, plenty of shade, grills to bar b que and restrooms. (the bathroom facilities arent the cleanest, but its not that big of a deal) I totally recommend.

I rated this a five star because this is a beautiful Park. You can see a lot of thought went into the parks lay out! the area itself is extremely beautiful and historical! there are lots of things to do with the family!!! Make sure to walk over to the pier to check out the lighthouse and gaze at the beautiful Lake!

By the nice older fashion but good town friendly people and some good places to eat. The fishing is okay some small gators. The play land is nice and picnic tables our great. The whole area is a gem at night well worth to see during the day even more so at night.

Perfect for all ages and the best park I have seen in a long time. Walk to downtown historic mount Dora. Walk the lake front. Eat some good food and get your kids ice cream. Very family friendly and safe.

Fun for kids and family activites. You have the park and close by theres a lake with a nature trail. Nice for outings. This is also where they let off fireworks every year for the 4th of July.

Very nice, big playground. Perfect for birthdays or just a weekend with the family. Lots of room to run and play, pavilions to keep out of the sun/rain. Easy parking. Loved it.

Is old, but still fun. Most of the playground is under the shade of the oak trees. There is also a neat nature trail across the street by the lake.
