One of my absolutely favorite places to visit and spend time to exercise, go for a walk, dance, meet with friends, or just be outdoors. This park is always well taken care of (well, unless vagrants trash it occasionally and it takes a few days to be cleaned up). The inner circle is getting new grass and should be perfect come spring time. The rest of the park is still just as usable, so no need to skip it. Pokemon-Go players had overrun this park starting in July, so there has been an influx of trash (not always in the trash-bins) and people who are not there to enjoy the park itself. The park is open early in the morning for runners as well as later in the evening (with lighting) for people just going for an after dinner stroll. The weekend brinks people out for picnics, rope walking, airial acrobatics, yoga, family outings, etc. It is usually mixed patrons reflecting the diversity of the Riverside community.

Memorial Park offers shade, seating a circular walk, river views and breezes, sports, games and meditation all neatly packed into a 6 acre site Many Architectural Historians consider this finest small urban park in the nation designed by the Olmsted Brothers. The park pretty much remains true to the original design vision. Often called the finest small Urban Park in North America, Memorial Park was designed by the renown Olmstead Brothers Firm Local sculptor Charles Adrian Pillars was commissioned to make the Beaux Arts style sculpture Life to honor Florida residents lost in World War 1. Mr Pillars works are prized in major cites around the US.

This park has always had a special place in my heart. Growing up in the area, you learn that this park has a reputation as a safe and simple place. There are often people fishing in the river along the walkway at the waters edge, right next to the signature fountain/statue combo that serves as the icon of the park. More recently, the Pokemon GO craze has breathed new life into the park and its honestly more packed now than when I was younger. It feels good to see the park being enjoyed by so many people, hopefully this has convinced you that its worth making a trip there yourself.

Love this place! Ive only been there twice, but I had such a great time on both occasions! Went today and saw a group of teenagers having fun and taking pictures for prom and I also witnessed a family playing soccer (and joined them lol)--so many wonderful and friendly people! Its just such a fantastic spot to either chill out and look out at the St.Johns river or play frisbee with your friends. After I left the park, I walked across the street for frozen yogurt so I also love how its adjacent to little restaurants

Definitely enjoy going out here. There are JSO officers that come check on the people walking around, some undercover and some are in uniform. I appreciate the fact they come out to make sure people who are playing Pokémon Go are being looked after. I do wish people would pick up their trash and throw it into the garage cans instead of leaving them on the benches!!

Great, clean park with special activities like projected movies at dusk in summer (for kids). Theres a dog park thats recently been added and opened with available water for the pets. Kinda unsavory at late night due to the nearby bars, but, this is Jacksonville afterall, NO parks are very nice after dark.

One of my favorite parks in Jacksonville. I love the 1/4 mile circle walk with the wide open grassy area in the center. Plenty of flowers and trees to gaze upon as you casually stroll or get in the work out you need. Plenty of seating along the river so you can stare out and watch the water.

I absolutely love it here. Its been far too long since I last visited. So today a friend and I did, and it was magical. Beautiful weather, beautiful atmosphere. To top it all off, everyone was exercising playing pokemon go, laughing and socializing. All around 10 stars eaisly!

Waterfront park with a nice breeze along the shore and a large open lawn for playing or picnicking. A large walkway is good for doing laps and regularly provided with benches. It also has four gyms and a bunch of pokestops if you play Pokemon Go.

Beautiful, clean and awesome scenery. Easy to find a parking spot, though I could see where it might have been difficult. Plenty of shops nearby for food or drink. Beautiful place to have a day outside or a picnic, in fact we saw plenty of both.

One of my favorite parks in the city. Plenty on room four the kids to run and play. Also lots of shade and its right on the river so you enjoy a little fishing if thats your thing. Plus there are great places to eat right across the street.

Historically significant, and beautiful park designed by the Olmsted Brothers (very successful). Great for picnicking, recreational sports, people watching, and just about everything else thats difficult or impossible to do in Jacksonville.

I like this park. I went there yesterday and there was an even going on. People were all around the park and some were taking a photo shot I believe they were students. Couple status like America eagle and the other one is a man.

The park is a great meeting location with benches and plenty of shade trees, a walking track for fitness, well maintained landscape and a beautiful view of the river. Located in historic 5 Points with many points of interest.

Its so peaceful here. You can fish, have a picnic, take a nap, get away to do homework, or just take a stroll. The views are beautiful, its part of what makes riverside a place you have to visit.

Clean and well kept park with a walking trail and a big lawn. Perfect for a picnic, yoga, or a jog. There is a view over looking the St. Johns river and a beautiful fountain and statue.

Beautiful park. My only complaint is that there isnt much to do or see. Theres the circle to walk and the river to overlook, but once you got there a couple times its not big deal.

Nice little park where locals sit to read or play frisbee with their dogs. Benches, great views of St. Johns and large trees for shade. No facility or trash receptacles.

Great park to ride your bike or walk into. Especially early morning to see the sun rise over the St Johns. Close to a bunch of shops, restaurants, and grocery stores.
