This place makes a lot more sense than parking in the metered lots. New to the area, and found this by chance/accident one weekend when they had the main beach parking lot closed down and the smaller lots and street parking were absolutely nuts as a result. It was 6 bucks to enter and you can leave your car there all day. It has direct beach access (theres even a tunnel under the road, so you dont have to cross) and is far enough away from the major parking lots that the stretch of beach is relatively uncrowded, but not so far away that you cant head down there to eat at the restaurants or drink a margarita from a glass big enough to put your whole head in. Its about a mile and a half walk to those places, but there are other restaurants much closer along the way. We parked here for a second time by design for Fathers day weekend and walked a short trail in the park before heading to the beach, and it was interesting. Felt very secluded despite being just yards from the road at times. We plan to come again and devote more time to the park itself before heading across to the beach. Bottom line: If youre going to spend a day at the beach, parking here will save you money, even if you dont want to explore the park at all.

This is my favorite park for skating. The road is smooth. You do have to share it with passing cars, however, which can sometimes be inconvenient (Ive crashed or lost balance a few times looking behind me to make sure cars werent going to hit me, when I should have been looking at the road and tripped on a branch) and sometimes cars dont know how to handle a skater or biker in the street. But this park is nice, very well kept, families are always BBQing or fishing on the intracoastal wall side of the park. You can park here and use the gate to the beach across A1A. And entry is pretty cheap. (Or, if you plan on coming here a lot, buy the season pass for $65, totally worth it). Yes, the park is pet friendly if your pet is on a leash (PLEASE keep them on a leash, non-leashed pets freak out the exercisers!)

Only $2 per person to enter and you can get a free tour from a really lovely guy in a golf car. You can drive there too, entrance is charged per car (I think $8). He knew a lot about the history of the state park and the wildlife. We rented a tandem kayak for an hour for $25 (+$10 for every hour after) but there were also single kayaks, peddal boats, paddle boards and canoes for cheaper. Water wasnt deep (varied from 1-3feet deep) So great for kids and anyone afraid of water. No alligators in the park, just fish, tortoises and beautiful birds. Backs onto fort lauderdale beach with an underpass too.

Access to the ocean and to the intracoastal with picnic benches along the intracoastal waterway. Lots of parking ,amazing nature preserve, hiking trails, café, volleyball and soccer areas.A tunnel under A1A to Fort Lauderdales North Beach. Bicycle rental, Segway rental.this park has it all, instead of worrying about metered parking hang one flat fee to come in and park and forget it for the rest of the day is worth it all by itself. By the way theres access to, amazing water taxi service along the intracoastal.

Very beautiful spot. Kayak and Segway rentals available from here. Some nice trails, fields, and gazebos for picnics and fun. For all day parking (until sundown) it costs $6 per vehicle (2+ passengers). This is of note for a few reasons: you can access the beach easily and still enjoy the park; you can catch the Water Taxi ($15 for all day rides) and go up or down the inter coastal waterway system. Its a perfect place to enjoy some of Floridas natural habitat, just watch out for banana spiders :P

We have lived in Fort Lauderdale for 7 years and didnt visit Birch Park until relatives from Kansas came to visit. We had such a good time! We took the walking tour with Ranger Brian Pressler. He was funny and so knowledgeable. Then we continued to go kayaking in the Atlantic Ocean which is accessible from the park. I cant believe all of this is available right in Fort Lauderdale. Thanks to all of the staff and vendors for making our visit a terrific adventure. We will be going back.

Toller park.

Wonderful park, has many activities such as jet ski, paddle boat and kayaking. They have an underground tunnel that crosses A1A to the beach. This makes it safe to cross the street especially If you have kids. Once you pay admission, you can go in and out of the park as long as you show your receipt. The park staff was really friendly and helpful. The beach it self was really clean quiet and it was guarded. Be sure to bring your snorkel gear, you can see many fish near the shore.

Nice walk if you want a change of pace from the beach. Good place to catch the water taxi too. The Banyan tree was very interesting! I wouldnt recommend going though unless you douse yourself with bug spray before entering the park. None of the rangers warned us as we entered and I was eaten alive...I quit counting at 40 bites. That sort of put a damper on the rest of the vacation and, for that reason, I doubt I will return when visiting Ft. Lauderdale in the future.

My favorite park in Browad County. From hanging out with a few freinds to a full on event or party, this park caters to everything. But, if u want a pavilion make sure you book in advanced. Theirs usually a waiting list. But if your willing to rough it without the pavilion, theirs plenty of park to explore. Walking trails, running, biking, fishing, playgrounds, access to fresh water, beach side,& intercoastal...

Schöner kleiner Park mit vielen Möglichkeiten für ein nettes BBQ. Man kann auf kleinen Pfaden abseits der Straße, die als Rundweg durch den Park führt, durch die bewaldeten Bereiche spazieren.

I was just strolling down the beach and noticed the sign; there wasnt much for employees. I wasnt even sure where they were. But its a park; no assistance was needed. There was a lot of wildlife; saw a couple interesting birds and lizards. Being from the desert the plants and trees seemed almost rain forest for a dry climate guy like me. Definitely recommend it for an easy stroll in the shade.

A much needed break from the noisy beach and traffic in the area. You can drive, but I highly recommend going for a stroll in the shade of the vegetation. See raccoons, turtles and big iguanas in their natural environment. Staff are friendly and helpful and the beachfront restaurant has nice food and beer. Bring food and charcoal, and have a waterfront meal at the intercoastal waterway!

A beautiful place to go for some peace and solitude without having to drive for hours. You can walk or bike through the trees and next to the water among the magnificent trees and plant life. While I get that this is a nature area, the mosquitoes were horrific. Byt the time we were there for an hour, we had dozens of bites. And watch out for the big, low hanging, garden spiders.
