Great educational displays including some indoor displays, an ecological exhibit, butterfly garden, turtle pond, and rescued animals. The highlight is a well maintained short trail walk through a Florida woodland area ending up at Moccasin Lake. Surprising to see such a nice refuge in such a heavily developed area. Worth the side trip to come and check this nice park out. Look for the peacocks that may wander in from their refuge next door.

I only recently found out about this place and was pleasantly surprised by all that it had to offer. A great place to bring kids who like to see snakes, frogs, toads, lizards, owls, hawks, etc. I took my two boys and walked the trail to Moccasin Lake where we saw a large alligator sunbathing and later saw a wild peacock and a gopher tortoise. All in all my kids loved the experience and it was all free. You cant ask for much more.

We went today for a beekeeping class and stayed for almost two hours looking at their fun and interesting exhibits and visiting their rescued birds. There were volunteers holding some of the birds and answering questions and Im just so impressed with their knowledge! I cant wait to go back and explore further. We werent able to check out the butterfly garden but Im sure its awesome!

Free parking Free admission Child stroller and wheel chair accessible No pets allowed (service dogs only) Bring sunscreen, water and snacks. Its a shaded area but the sun is still unmerciful threw out the year. The volunteers that work the park are friendly and knowledgeable about wildlife and plants. Donations accepted Easy to find via GPS

One of my favorite nature parks to go to in Pinellas County. Walking there is always such a treat. The area is beautiful. They also have wild life they are rehabilitating that you can see close up. Including owls and other birds of prey. Elvis the vulture is so cute and sweet. Its just a wonderful place and great to learn about our local wildlife.

Amazing park with a ton of wild animals and friendly volunteers. Pulled into the parking lot and saw a peacock, want even walking 10 minutes before I found a nesting female peacock, a woodpecker, a wild bullfrog, and a raccoon. Being some water and your hiking shoes, and of course a camera!

1) the park is not dog friendly and it doesnt clearly state it anywhere. 2) they need to update their Google maps. The entrance is not on Owen street and I had to ask the local residents on how to get there.
