Really well laid out and wonderful for BBQing near the water. Many reviews on here have peoples minds blown away by the fact that the park is fully funded by the residents of the city of St. Clair Shores and therefore is only open to their own residents. Many reviewers state that if they let everyone in they would get a "higher rating" when in FACT they would get more trash to clean up, have parking issues, and their costs would sky rocket! Then they would have to charge at the gate which would be a punishment to the citizens of St. Clair Shores who already pay insanely high property taxes due too having parks like this and being near the water. This has my mind blown as the Grosse Pointes (each one) near by have done this for well over a hundred years with no such complaints. If you dont pay for something why do YOU "think" YOU have a right to it? I did not pay for your car so I cant just get in it. Weird how people think or in this case dont think.

I moved here from Wisconsin and live right down the street on the border of St. Clair Shores and Clinton Township. I went to the park with my 2 & 5yr old and a rude older man working the gate told me I couldnt let my kids play because Im not a resident of St. Clair Shores. I was so embarrassed how this guy treated me while he was sitting in his gold cart asking me questions. No kids were at the park either? So I had to walk away with two small kids that were sad they couldnt play. Im not familiar with the park system here in MI because in WI they dont discriminate against kids playing in their parks who arent in their tax bracket. Even if Im not a resident I would be willing to pay $100 plus for a park pass because it does look like a very nice park and the closest to my house.

This park is available just to St Clair Shores residents, and the annual park pass is worth every penny. I believe it is around 10.00 for family passes. It is a great place for the kids to play on the splash pad and playground. It is good for family gatherings with plenty of picnic tables and pavilions. They have music in the park concerts during the week. The only negative is the water is really gross at the beach and I would not go swimming here. That is no fault of the park though.

Gorgeous park that is a 7 minute stroll from my home, however since Im a resident of Clinton twp, not SCS, I cannot enter. Its a real disappointed. I know residents are able to purchase a pass at $10 and I would be willing to purchase one for an extra cost $50-75 to keep it neat and to make up for the tax costs. The older gatekeeper is also very rude. If I go in with a neighbor, hes visibly judgemental. Such a pity:(

Guy at the gate was a rude old man, wouldnt allow us in b/c were not from st. Clair Shores....you guys can go ahead and keep your park its not special enough to be so rude to people who dont live there...just b/c people want to visit there from other cities doesnt make them any less of a human being or the term "hood rats" that people use to describe other people

Am a tourist from out of town. Wanted to see the lake. Apparently this park is for residents only. Ive been coast to coast in this country and have never heard of a private park funded by tax dollars. Especially a veterans memorial, have some respect for families of our service members.

Can only visit if your a saint Clair shores resident? Really? Why is that? If someones not from the stuck up city then just charge a few dollars for admission. This seems like a smarter decision since that could go towards maintaining the grounds and cost of any future maintenance.

Excellent family-friendly park. The splash pad is a definite highlight of this park along with a large play area for kids and a long walking path for walkers. Its sad that the water in this area is so polluted with raw sewage; otherwise it would have a very nice beach as well.

Great place to take your kids and family good concerts on Wednesdays they needed not to charge residents for activities that are there I can understand that residents but residents pay taxes plus we have to pay for a pass is also I dont think thats fair to our community

The park was amazing. The free converts every Wednesday are great for familys and kids. The Carpet Guys were there giving away free bubbles for the kids and bags of chips and hot dogs for everyone else. The music was great. I love this place.

Love Memorial Park . The art fair in late summer is always a treat. The camps for kids are a SCS parks staple. The old trees towering over the lush grass. The sound of the waves against the rocks. This is what it is all about. Lovey park .

This park looks lovely! Just sad that i cant take my family there or even buy a day pass because i am not a resident. By all means my family and myself are far from TRASH! As other have stated to keep the trash out!

Beautiful park in St Clair shores. Lake view is amazing... 3 out of 5 stars is because its a resident only park. Even if you are willing to pay a million $, you cant get in unless you are a resident. Horrible!

Great park! Wonderful views of the lake and excellent playground and splash pad for the kids. Check out the concert in the park on Wednesday, bring your dinner and a cooler and makes for a great evening out.

We go here every year for their firework display. Always great. Disappointed they didnt have the food stand open. Only had food trucks come in. Improved since the prior year there were dead fish on the beach.

Very fun playground for the kids with lots of open space to run. They loved flying their kites in the breeze that blows off of the lake. Beautiful, big, old hardwoods surround the playground to keep it shady.

Enjoyed Opening night for Music in the Park w/ The Groove Council and it was flag day also so they had beautiful tribute to our military and a 21 gun salute. Great place, for young and old!!

I visited here last summer when I first moved to Saint Clair Shores. My daughter likes it here. My only issue is the cigarette butts in the picnic area... thats not very appealing.

This is probably a lovely park if you are a resident and have bought your park pass ahead of time. If you are a visitor to the area, you cannot buy a day pass. :-(
