I have been playing the Rookery every year for 10 years when we vacation in Deleware. This course has been our "go-to" value option to play a couple of times during our weeks vacation. The course is VERY FORGIVING...you may find yourself in a parallel fairway with a better setup than if you had been playing the actual holes fairway. There are few trees...fairway bunkers rarely come into play, and the few dog-legs are easy to manage. Service while getting your cart, in the Pro Shop, and out on the course is more indicative of a higher priced course. The recent heat and lack of rain has dried out many of the fairways and the rough. The rough was at least 3"+ in some areas, making it very difficult to get out at times. Overall, the Rookery isnt in the BEST shape that I have seen it, but the service is easily as good if not better than I have ever experienced there. Enjoy you day at the Rookery, but bring a hat...there isnt a lot of shade!

This Golf Course continues to grow and fill in. Once referred to as a links type course it is now developing its own identity. As the trees continue to grow and fill in the course the links tag will slowly disappear as it will no longer be easy to recover from an errant shot as it once was. The Pro Shop, club house, restaurant and the facilities are very nice. Service in the pro shop is exceptional and very professional. Food and beverage in the restaurant are above average and the service is like no other. You can enjoy a full course meal or grab a hot dog or sandwich and a beverage at the turn, which ever is your pleasure.

Played here quite a few times but not recently. Had guest from out of town with me today and the course was in horrible shape. The greens were completely scorched and fairways were badly burned as well. It is a shame to see this once beautiful course in such horrible shape. Hopefully something happens to turn it around. Until then, I will not be returning.

Very good golf course. The course is well maintained and user friendly. The only problem is the wind..it seems to only bow in your face, but that what makes the location more challenging. Club house is small and limited.

I played the front 9 and it was great. Some challenging holes. I am looking forward to a full round of 18, but since I am from the area... wondering what the mosquitos will be like this year.
