**UPDATE** After trying to reach out to Mystic Aquarium via Facebook and their messenger service Ive yet to hear a response back in regards to my past visit. Their lack of response shows their stand on customer service. Im writing you about my experience that i received at your facility yesterday. My wife and I purchased two full price admission tickets along with 4D passes and spent most of the day enjoying our time there before heading to our destination a little ways away. Before heading out we decided to make use of our 4D passes and see the show after standing in line for roughly 25 minutes we finally got our 2 "blue" passes and were told that our showing would start around 4pm. We waited around and didnt go far from the area because we had already spent most of the day walking around your facility and enjoying the attractions. At 3:40 we were brought into the room before the actual show and waiting another 10-15 minutes before being let into the actual room... This is where it gets good. Some how someone over looked the amount of passes that were given out or didnt accurately count the number of people they let into the room because myself and 2 other people didnt have seats. After some scrambling and multiple personnel coming in and out of the theater they kept asking if everyone had blue passes and children under 2 needed to be on the lap but still it didnt free up seats. Mind you my wife had already gotten a seat and was looking on with disbelief that something like this happened. The two other adults walked out of the theater and I was left standing by the exit doors.... Your staff seen that I was there and quite frankly didnt care that I didnt have a seat. The woman came in didnt apologize just said that the show would start please everyone be seated.... I cant believe I was just left standing there. What happened yesterday at the end of the day at your facility ruined our complete experience at your facility, how petty it seems impacted my wife and I as your customers. I hope you can learn and grow from this poor customer service experience.

The most horrible aquarium that ive been to. The bathrooms all stink. The workers are rude. I was standing near the kids area to watch over my little sister touch the stingrays but then the one of the worker yelled out loud "hey....get out of here! You are too tall to be here!!. You shouldnt be here. Just do us a favor and get out". When i first heard this i thought it was a joke. I cant stand near my little baby sister while she touches stingrays? I cant watch over her because im tall? Nice. Not only that but the aquarium is very small in general. Only 1 shark in a huge tank. Funny because they named the exibit "world of sharks". I never knew "world of sharks" is only one shark. The waters also very dirty. Not clear. Extremely foggy. Moreover when i was dying in thirst i went to the gift shop. I went to get a cold water...sadly the cooler doesnt work. They said it broke down. I mean well okay fine. Ill just get water but then i looked at the price. Not 2 dollars...not 2.50. BUT 3.50 DOLLARS!!!. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WATER FOR THAT MUCH?...please everyone dont come here. Dont waste your money on such a small exibit, foggy fish tanks, smelly and dirty restrooms, expensive drinks, and rude workers. Please go somewhere else. It is not worth the money. Horrible experience overall. I mean it is great that the tickets last for 2 days but there is honestly nothing to do in the 2 day spand. Not enough fish to see, no dolphins, bad service, dirty restrooms, and overall horrible place. I like to go with the saying quality over quantity. This for sure doesnt fit the saying.

The aquarium was nice but I was really disappointed after paying almost $100 to get in plus the hotel to stay overnight and the only touch tank open was the discovery lab which had a few shells (and 1 crab which might have well been a shells since I didnt see it move the whole time we were there). I couldve easily scheduled us to come down another time to visit but there was no information about the status of the tanks on the website. Even the staff seemed unaware of what was going on since we were told that the touch tanks were open when I asked where they were. Even the guy at the shark tank told us how to touch the sharks and then right before we reached in suddenly said on no you cant touch them right now! I then asked someone if the sting rays would be open at all that day and she informed me they had to clean the tank and they always do that kind of maintenance in the spring, like I shouldve known better. I am very understanding that they need to clean the tanks and that the animals need to get used to a new display, but this wasnt made clear before we got there. I also feel the aquarium couldve done a better job at scheduling so that at least the shark tank or the sting ray tank was open while the other one was closed. I would not call this a "HANDS ON" aquarium. I felt like they were happy to take my money but no one addressed that we had less of an experience than what was promised. My two kids that are very easy going were so disappointed they didnt even care to get a souvenir when we left.

An excellent family attraction - and a must stop for tourists! As a local whos visited the Mystic Aquarium many times over the past 10 or so years, I can say this is always a fun place to stop. I highly suggest if you live in CT, MA or RI to get a library card and bring it with you as if you present that card you will receive a discount on admission. That said, the aquarium showcases a wide range of sea life in a beautifully themed and well maintained campus. The various tanks and areas that feature larger sea life and mammals are a major stopping point for most of the visitors as well as the included Foxwoods sponsored sea lion show. The show is quite a spectacle that is worth seeing at least once - the show has changed at least from the past few times Ive visited years prior, I believe they may do different routines at different times/dates. The penguin cafe is a well kept restaurant but I personally have never eaten here as the pricing is rather high even for a restaurant within an aquarium. The gift shop is pricey but the items are quite good quality and it may be worth grabbing one item as a souvenir for some. Absolutely make sure you remember to validate your tickets BEFORE you leave the aquarium! If you do this you will receive free re-admission for the next two days.

Probably the worst designed aquarium I have been to. Went in to see the Sea Lion show. It was okay but not worth the hassle of getting out of the place. The auditorium was packed and they only allowed people to exit from one door. Took forever to get out. And I was thinking it was a good thing that the fire marshal was not there. There was no control over traffic flow for the inside exhibits so it was very difficult to see the displays. My grandchildren couldnt see anything. The viewing area for the outside displays was poor too. Too many people allowed in for the size of the place. A total waste of money for my grandchildren. They kept getting frustrated because they couldnt see. We finally gave up and left before we even saw half the exhibits. If you want to see an aquarium on the east coast, go to Baltimore. It gets really crowded but at least they control it. Even trying to buy a ticket was difficult. We must have waited in line for an hour, not good when you have children. It took forever for each transaction. I have only been here twice...once about 30 years ago and then again this weekend. Both times I had the same complaint so I wont be going again.
