The worst restaurant experience ever. Too bad you dont have a negative star rating. Ok, I get it. This place is busy, but after we waited 30 minutes to be seated, we waited 45 minutes more to be told that the kitchen was backed up and our order had been messed up. Despite being assured wed be "taken care of", we watched as several tables that were seated at least 45-60 minutes after us got food before us. During the long torturous wait our waitress came by all of about twice. I had to go get more water on my own. Finally, after and hour and a half with 3 people "checking our order" we were told by the manager that at this point, its realistically going to be 20 more minutes to get 2 burgers and a chicken sandwich! Ive spent a lot of time in the restaurant industry and heres some advice- waitress: start with an apology while bringing out some free appetizers, bread, chips, and own it! I get it, restaurants run out of stuff, but just tell me that the damn chicken got away while they were plucking it- offer something else instead of driving to Denver to get a new one. Manager: face it, its been 1-1/2 hours(we told you this, so you know it). Free food aint free if it never arrives, and lets face it, the food just isnt that special here. I know this because Ive been here before. At least you could have offered us a gift card to lure us back. So sad, because weve always thought this was such a cool place in our neighborhood. You can bet we wont be back ever again.

The Principals Office is located in the IVYWILD School building, I love how the former school has been re-purposed into a brewery, pub, and eating establishment. The Principals Office had a variety of drinks to choose from as well as some snack items. I was able to try the Mule 44 and a taste of the Catholic School Girl. Both drinks were excellent and didnt taste watered down, so at least youre getting your moneys worth since the drinks arent exactly inexpensive. Watching the bar tenders mix your drinks can even be a show on its own. Theyre all pretty friendly and knowledgeable on various libations. There is outdoor seating when the weather is nice as well as indoor seating. They get busy so you might find yourself wiping down your own table if the staff hasnt gotten to it yet. Its a roomy area and great for groups. When you get a chance visit the Bristol Brewery and pub as well. They have a great selection of their concoctions on tap. The IVYWILD School is definitely a cool hangout and one reasons to want to go to school.

From my first to my hundredth visit, I still find new things to love. Pulling up outside is like the excitement of days gone by with the school house charm of the exterior. Some garden lots and a bike shop add to the splendor. Then up the beautiful stairs and a hard left to short cut straight to the coffee bar! The best coffee options around: pour over- must try the Ethiopian blend, tea- astounding flavored, cocoa, and of course my sweet flavored cups too. Backed up to the bar is a breakfast/bakery counter. You will not find any better pastries in town(oh yes of course my niece is now the pastry chef and it is even better). The food is absolutely scrumptious. Then you get to seat yourself and enjoy the ambiance. Open and exposed beams and brick. Art displayed on all the walls. The bathroom walls are a display of all our childhood memories of the fun of learning! So hard to leave the peaceful and relaxing mornings spent here

This review is slightly bittersweet because for once the five start rating proves insufficient to readily convey my feelings about this place. For one, I do feel like this is a great innovative spot to visit in Colorado Springs. However the food was overpriced and just good at most. The bartenders were slightly occupied with orders which translated into cold impersonal service, almost verging on rude and aloof. Their beer selection is something to try for yourself, in my personal criteria their award winning selection wasnt as impressive as I was led to believe. Their clientele is quite eclectic and definitely a noisy bunch. The chedder soup is best avoided and the burgers best ordered plain. Other than that give it a whirl and try for yourself.

Im sure there is a separate name for the cafe at this location but I cant remember it. So this review is only for at the cafe. Nicely appointed slightly hipster-ish ambience with thoughtfully prepared food and drink. Very different from what I saw in the rest of Colorado Springs. Coffee drinks were well prepared, on par with drinks Ive had from third wave cafes around San Francisco. Food was good and reasonably priced for the quality though probably more expensive than average for the area. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating as well as WiFi. All in a former schoolhouse setting. Worth driving out of your way if youre on the other side of town or passing through Colorado Springs.

I was wanting this place to be sooo cool! Really its just a confusing hodgepodge of stuff in an old school house. Part of it is more of a bar setting, the other is more cafe style. Im not sure which side of the school offers what? Servers seem to run food back and forth between the sides. All four of us were a little disappointed with our meal; really stringy fatty meats. A few of us boxed up our meals to-go, but didnt bother eating them at home. The parking is awful. Bring your compact car so you can park in front. Parking in back requires you to walk around the entire school. I think well give it another try, maybe for more of a drinks and supper kind of place.

The Principals Office has the best coffee in Colorado Springs, hands down, and the bar is fantastic. The Meat Locker and the Old School Bakery are outstanding, on par with their European cousins. Everyone is friendly, genuine, and efficient, as well as being experts in their work. The Ivywild School is an example of how perfectly a beautiful old building can be brought back to life. It really is a hub of excellence in a part of town that once was lacking. (Footnote: Im baffled by the person who complained about parking at the back... there is a highly visible entrance from that carpark with stairs and and ramp. There is good parking out front as well.)

I cant believe someone felt walking from the back parking lot to the front was difficult to do. Pro hint: There is a back door. Also, so sorry this hodgepodge of stuff was confusing. Its how you fill up an old school with tenants to pay for the real estate. I personally love it. So much so, I think I have been dozens of times and am about to head out right now to meet friends. This is a great location for you to have impromptu gatherings, as you can collect tables easily. The outside patios on both sides are very nice, too. The weirdness of no drinks between the bars is a booze ordinance, so talk to your city council about that one folks!

The kitchen is filled with Potheads and constantly drinking on the job. Came here recently with a friend and they asked if I could pay for the food in advanced and when I got it, the burger had a hair in it and I refused to eat it. I wanted a refund for my money and never got it. The Manager came out to talk to me and it was this preteen looking 19 year old who barely had any hair on his chin who reeked of marijuana, then he says they "couldnt run the card more then one time a day". Which was most likely a lie and he offered me a beer. NOT HAPPY.
