I moved to Ojai 3 years ago and wanted to take my family to the Castas Water park in the summer. This weekend for the second time in a month I tried to enter the water park. The first time I invited my family from out of town to come play at the water park, they drove the 4 hours to come to find we had to purchase tickets ahead of time. Disappointing but my fault that I didnt research more. So this past weekend I invited my grandson to come again and go to the water park. My daughter went on line and ordered three spaces for us and got her reservation confirmation. Cool, we go to the park, we are told tickets are sold out, she tells them she has her reservation, pay the $15 dollars to park, I proceed to stand in line with my grandson while my daughter tries to find where she has to show her reservation receipt. No one around, no open windows in any of the buildings around. Other people in line were confused and wondering where they needed to go. 5 minutes before the gate opens a girl instructs the crowd quickly then disappears,so when we get to the front of the line after waiting over 30 minutes with a VERY excited happy 3 year old, we are told we had to get out of line and go to the office behind the event gate which had just opened. So my grandson and I go to the back of the line while my daughter goes to the office. There she is told that tickets are sold out and the $7.50 reservation fee cannot be refunded. She stated she had paid for the tickets online and got the reservation receipt. They said no sorry you need to have your tickets so she said well then I will pay for the tickets again and cancel the online order, the girl told her no we are sold out and you cannot buy tickets. My daughter said what about my reservation receipt? The girl was rude and unrelenting and my daughter came out extremely distraught. As we walked back to the car my grandson is confused and pointing to the park crying please please please, I want to go inside, he was so distressed we couldnt even get him in the car. So 20+ dollars, a very upset daughter and a crushed grandson we leave. I was livid and said lets take them a crying 3yr old and they can explain to him why he cant go play at the park YET AGAIN because the parks system sucks and the employees are rude and uncaring. I am so so upset over this, it broke my heart YET AGAIN that my family drove 4 hours to play at this water park and were treated badly and my grandson was woefully affected. Boo to the water park, o points, no stars and two thumbs down...

Small, clean, organized, well-staffed, no outside food allowed to bring in bees, limited ticket sales to reduce crazy crowds. Some kids were too rough in the water around other kids and from the design of the park parents cant watch them every minute, I watched one kid hold another kids head underwater, but the general amusement park yuck factor was missing. Best thing to do - 1) buy tickets online as they sold out the day before 2) reserve online for the shaded spots as otherwise you will cook in the sun, you have to buy 10+ tickets to be able to rent a shaded spot but go with a group 3) get there early as the reservation system isnt perfect 4) rent a locker and leave your food in the car - only bring water and your towels in and lock your keys in the locker, walk out to eat when you get hungry 5) go down the river as many times as you can! So fun. My daughter loved it! Some of the kids were rough and I told some to back off when they were shoving my 21 month old out of the way as well as others not to splash us in the face, so for little littles it could be tough but my daughter loved it! We will be back this summer.

As far as water parks go, this is as basic as it gets. There are essentially two main sections... a giant splash pad/pool area with amazing water fountains and a few slides for kids and a lazy river. Unfortunately, the slides are for kids only, which leaves the lazy river as the only things for adults to do. The water in the kids section is VERY cold. Im giving this 4 stars because compared to a water park its cheap (though it still felt pricey for what it is) and my son had a great time. Kids will have an amazing time. We went on a day that wasnt very crowded at all, so if it were nuts, Id probably bump my rating down. Still, the bathrooms were decent, there are plenty of shaded places to put your stuff. The lazy river was awesome!!! Wish it was a bit less money for the whole family.

I took my GS troop to this water park this last week (July 2014) and we loved it! I wasnt sure if it would seem to young for my 11 and 12 year old girls, but they absolutely loved it! It wasnt over crowded, like I feared. Even though they only have the one play structure and a lazy river, it was very spacious and kept our group entertained all day long! The bummer was that no food/drinks are allowed inside the park. But the picnic tables outside were great to make our sandwiches and be together! Although I live 2 1/2 hours away, my daughter has begged me to take her back again, so Im sure well be back!

I really like this water park. Very low key and laid back. Its not a high-thrill place, but great for relaxing in the lazy river, or for kids to splash around on the water playground, and good for the $ value. They do limit the # of entries, so that it doesnt get overly crowded, so you HAVE to order tickets online about a week in advance. If you dont do that, the water park always seems to be sold-out the day of your visit, so plan ahead!

Perfect little place to relax while the kids go have fun in the water. I must say I enjoyed it better than ranging waters and soak city its not overcrowded. Nice little picnic area very clean. Staff is friendly it was worth the 3 hour drive. Definitely recommend this place. If you have toddlers they have a small kids swim area which is really convinent.
