I went here with a bunch of people for my cousins birthday. It was a Saturday night and it was CROWDED. The atmosphere was pretty cool with the fire places going full scale and the DJ spinning records like crazy. It was a decent crowd and honestly, we were probably the most obnoxious drunk people at the bar. The drinks were pretty expensive but thats the price you pay when you want to go to an upscale night club where you dont feel like your in the basement of a frat house. It seemed like the place was open to any kind of behavioral party innovation without security or patron interruption. As an example some crazy dude and his friends cleared an area forming a circle only letting people in to dance. When this happened the place went nuts. Anyone who walked through the circle and didnt dance got booed. I definitely recommend this place for a night out where you want to dress a little nicer than usual and pick up cute wine drinking Asian girls, otherwise Bus Stop on Union St is where its at .

I have such mixed and conflicted feelings about this place. It has a really gorgeous fire place. I am not sure why they have dressing rooms in the back. It could be such a classy joint, but who wants to wait 45 minutes for a drink while hearing guys complain, "Damn, I got shot down." Shot? by what? The drinks are not at all that stiff and they are over priced. This place does shine on rainy days early in the week like a Monday or a Tuesday where true friends can sit by a fireplace and talk about the simple and pleasant things about life. Avoid on weekends. Do go here on a dark and stormy night.

Matrix Fillmore is one of the anchor bars of the Blue Triangle nightlife area of SF. Matrix usually gets packed with a line of people who are ready to drink and party till 2am. On a good night it can be fun. But it can get so crowded that you end up sweating like crazy because Matrix has a gas powered fire place. The drinks are so so and the bar tenders can be rude. As for hooking up, its up to you and your "game".

We came from Chicago and this is definitely not the same night life. This is supposedly considered one of the best night clubs out here. Did not enjoy the people or the atmosphere. Drinks were generously poured. Music was decent. But no lights inside! We wanted to leave right away but decided to stay because we had to pay a $10 entrance fee

Cool atmosphere and nice dance music. What I liked the most in this bar was the central fireplace, where the fire was actually coming out of a pile of rocks. It has niches for sitting as a group while having a drink, as well as dancing space in between. When we came out, around 1am, the line was huge, so dont be late.

Small venue that is more upscale looking. It has a pretty good lounge space and one long bar. The drinks are, ok. Accidentally left my credit card there and one of the staff took it and decided to treat himself. Lame! It definitely gave me the wrong vibe and I wouldnt go back if I had a choice.

I love the music at matrix on the weekends. They definitely do a good job on selecting good djs with excellent talents. EDM is super big there as well. People dress classy and the best part of the night....you can simply walk over to piza orgasmica for a drunk munchie

I went there on a random Sunday night with some friends and surprisingly had a great time. I loved the music, was a great diverse crowed, great atmosphere. A cool spot to go hange out and minlge and dance the night away. Ill definitely be coming back soon

When I wanted to go in, I was told I was not able to unless I bring two girls with me. "There are already some guys inside, and too many of them is just not sexy", I was told. It looked boring inside anyways, but please tell me how sexism is not real.

Its a bar not a club. I get confused in USA as some places that are just bars with a small dance floors are called clubs??? If you are familiar with normal clubs then dont set your expectations high

Located at the famous "herpes triangle " in the Marina. The service can be a bit slow at times. if you like that marina crowd,that might be the spot for you. Not for me

Loved this space! Great drinks, decent dj playing all the top 40 drops, and plenty of comfy couches. Went on a Sat night and the guy/girl ratio was highly acceptable

The bathrooms were HORRIBLE!!!! Out of three stalls two were out of order. The third and only working toilet had a busted door. Other than that, the club was fun.
