Worst experience Ive ever had at a campsite!!! The employees at the office didnt even know what spots were available. They kept giving us spots that were taken. When they finally got around to giving us a spot, it was located in the middle of a grass field with zero privacy. Five minutes later, we went back to the office to get our money back and leave. We figured ANYWHERE would be better than the spot they gave us. They told us that they wouldnt give us our money back because they were closing. They said there was nothing they could do. They suggested that we sit by the office and wait for someone else to come and sell our spot to them. I was told that I could call a ranger in Sacramento or they could call their ranger friend and have him stop by to talk to us. Then they walked to their campsite at 97! Freaking ridiculous!! Were still waiting for the ranger...

I been coming to this campground since i was a kid . Never had any problems. The park rangers were always so kind . UNTIL this PAST WEEKEND . I have NEVER been treated with so much disrespect. Park rangers were the most rudest people i have ever met. If this was my first time coming here. I would never return . And tell others i wouldnt recommend this place to anybody . I hope north beach campground hires better park rangers by the time i return . Or ill just have to take my business somewhere else. Whitch would be a shame. My family made it a tradition to come here once a year since 1979

i have been here ever since i was 5 and i am 14 right now and i we are still going here with our entire family good restrooms and hot showers. also the beach is 5 minutes away and it is 20 minutes away from town and the splash cafe also there is bridge linking the campground to the butterfly grove. campsites have a good amount of space and you can ride your bikes, scooters, and skateboard and play in the street without having to worry about getting run over. also the sing and entrance is nice to give you an idea of how nice it is i have included a picture of the north beach campground sign.

We arrived here around 9pm without a reservation. We got to the entrance and the ranger gave us a list of about 4 or 5 sites that hadnt been taken. We picked one and started setting up camp in the pitch dark. Then some (almost sure didnt work there) old couple in a golf cart pull up and start hassling us that we took a handicap spot. I was unaware because the handicap logo was a 6"x6" sign on a post facing the other way plus it was pitch black AND we got an ok from the ranger on duty. Rest of stay was very pleasant though. Near monarch grove, beach and between Grover and Pismo Beach.

Campground itself is a 5. But people go camping here because of the beach too. The shore has lots of bird feathers and smells stinky. The weather in general in Pismo is not ideal for swimming without wet suits. The weather rarely gets above 80 and water stays cold year round. There were teens who threw a bottle of Gatorade at our tent site at night and were cursing at us and we could not see them. This prompted me to call 911. Camp host said they do get calls about pesky teens quite often. Not sure if they are local teens or are campers.

We stayed here for two nights. Its a beautiful spot with a gorgeous beach. Its quite crowded with retirees. The park peoples presence is more than I would prefer. They patrol the park over and over all day. Makes me wonder if there is a crime problem In the area. The bathrooms are fairly clean the showers are by tokens and the tokens are 2 for a dollar which gets you 4 minutes. It has clean water and a dump which is a bonus but no electricity. I would stay here again even though $25 isnt particularly cheap.

Got there at 1 to check in and was supposed to be back at 2. Didnt make it back from the beach until 6. My girlfriend and her parents were there getting hassled by the CAMP HOST! They kept insisting they were in the wrong camp ground and needed to leave! The following day they threatened to have the Camp Ranger write us a ticket for leaving late. Sibal and Anne (Camp Host) were not welcoming at all. Liked the campground but found the lack of respect irritating. Hope its a better experience for others.

The open campsites are nice but you have to be careful with larger RVS they have hitching posts and curbs lining everything and its not easy to navigate a larger rig though several of these sites with out having to drive over the curbs lining the spots. Easy walk to the beach. Close to the outlet stores and california fresh market, about a 10 minute bike ride. We were warned by several people to keep our items locked up and put away at nights due to theft, we did so. Great place.

This was basically a homeless village for the one night we stayed. Up to 7 tents in one site with no vehicles. Laundry hanging in all the tress. Our site was full of trash including someones pants. The woman at the gate was inflexible on the 2pm check in time. We showed up at 1:30 and were allowed to pay for a site but couldnt actually occupy it until 2. May as well find skid row and camp there instead of wasting $25/night

Nice clean sites. Bathrooms are clean and stocked. Showers are very clean. Both are cleaned through out the day. $1 gives you 2 shower tokens. Each token gives you 3 minutes. Shower temp is not adjustable, however, the temperature is just right. Camp hosts are very nice. There is a free RV dump and fill station at the entrance. Nice nature walk from camp. Pier is a short walk or bike ride away. We will be coming back.

We reserved a campsite with beach access. Its a mike or so walk alonf to beach to the downtown boardwalk area, and the views were amazing! Only downside was the broke bike sitting in our campsite when we arrived. It would seem the campgrounds proximity to downtown, also bring the occasional homeless run in at the restrooms. They seem harmless so no biggie!

I agree with one review saying it was basically a homeless camp. But in the swing of summer the homeless are removed. Security is good. In that area it has been a challenge in recent years keeping the homeless out. This campground does a good job keeping things clean. Bathrooms cleaned out daily and stocked. The grounds are very nice.

Its a great place to camp. Not the best place to sleep. Im busy weekends there are nut cases that keep you up all night long partying. And some people will show up in middle of night and not pay and just set up camp and have big giant fights and punch their old ladies in the mouth. When you wake up the morning song is gorgeous.

Stayed here at site 11 for one night recently. Im used to camping in the woods and this was no the case here (not that i expected it to be). I thought it was a nice campground. Site 11 was nice cause it was one of the closest to the path to the beach! It has nice flush toilets and water is available.
