I have visited this Roscoes several times. The food is pretty good, but I have issues with the customer service here. Every time we go, the restaurant is fairy dead - which is great for us. We are seated immediately, but it takes a very long time for our waiter to come and help us out. Usually, ALL of them congregate at the kitchen area, and do not walk their area to check on drinks or other requests. During all of our visits, we have 3 encounters. Taking the order, delivering the food, and dropping the check. Its very poor. Usually the employee is uninspired and appears as if anything is better than working there. There are a few exceptions. The food is good, although this is just chicken. Its nothing fancy. However, the gravy with onions goes great when poured over the top. My friend enjoys ordering the omelet with chicken, and loves it. Unfortunately, I will never go to this Roscoes again. Reason #1 - Its REALLY expensive for what you get. Say you order something small and want an extra waffle. (Very thin waffles). I believe its $4.50 more. That is an absolute nightmare. Reason #2 - During my visits here, there is a manager named "Elmo" who goes table to table, talking to customers and delivering food. He appears very angry and unhappy when we go, never says anything pleasant, or anything at all for that matter. However, when we go, he tends to look at us as if were foreigners, and passes by our table without saying a word, just to continue on and start at the next one. Im not sure what it is. Reason #3 - When we go up to pay by the front door, the employee on several occasions has forgotten how to swipe a credit card. I mean, come on. Your sole job here is to accept payment, and youre swipping my credit card upside down and backwards? The magnetic stripe goes down, inside the machine, not under your thumb. Either way, Ive had enough. While good, its not great. And with customer service like this, Im not sure why anybody comes back.

I like the Long Beach location better than the Hollywood one. The Hollywood location is very dark inside, parking is a issue and seems small. Long Beach on the other hand has lots of windows was huge and tons of free parking. What can I say, the chicken was terrific, waffles were great, and the syrup was good too. I have always been a fan of the sweet and savory. Growing up I would put honey on fried chicken, so this is right up my alley. The chicken breast was HUGE, I was not expecting it to be that much food, and we ran out of waffles before we did chicken. Price looks a little high at first, $16 for half a chicken and 2 waffles, but the waffles are like 8" and the giant chickens make it worth the price. Other reviewers that come up with go to KFC and toast of eggos are on crack. The chicken is better than anything KFC, Popeyes or any of take out chicken place. And the waffles are nothing like one could find in the frozen food aisle. Even the syrup is made exclusively for Roscoe. It may sound a little odd at first, but add Roscoes to your bucket list, it is worth a try.

The chicken here is nice and crispy and delicious! The waffles could be a little thicker and crisper. Theyre kind of soggy. Im not sure if its just me, but I like there to be a little crunch on the outside and a spongey soft inside. The mac n cheese is good. I want to try their potato salad, so Ill be going back to have some of that and Ive also heard their rice with gravy is good. This place is definitely a place to splurge, dont expect to keep a diet here. Its all salt, gravy, and syrup there. Its a homey vibe and expect anything to go down. Its in a busy part of Long Beach with interesting characters. Theres a bar connected to it... Last time I was there, it was 1:30am and some drunk ladies had a bit of a tiff outside. Theres security so I dont expect anything too crazy to go down there, but then again it was late and they ordered drinks with their meal. Parking is across the street. If you have a large party, they wont seat you until your whole party is there, just FYI.

This is probably my favorite Roscoes location that Ive been to. Usually you can go on a weekend (day) and only have to wait a short 10mins or so for a big party. They have a fairly large waiting area with a few seats, but also is akin to a full bar in the same building so you can get your drink on while you wait for your gluten! I ALWAYS order the #1 Scoe Special that has 2 waffles and 2 pieces of chicken. I put hot sauce on the chicken and syrup/butter on my waffles...because doing it any other way would be stupid. I also order a side of grits (add sugar and butter) and smothered potatoes. OMG! This is my last dinner request for sure. Im not going on death row anytime soon, but I feel good in knowing that if I do, Ill know what I wanna eat. You also got to get the Sunrise (orange juice and lemonade)! The servers/waitresses are always nice + they have plenty of parking across the street in a lot and also street parking.

My review is based on 4 factors Price, Product, Location and Atmosphere. Roscoes Chicken and Waffles is a local experience that should not be missed. Prices are fair for the food that you get and the food is good. Certainly not 5-Star quality but thats not their goal. Providing good food at a fair price with no frills is what they cater to. Chicken and Waffles is a southern thing and if you like them both you will enjoy their food. The franchise has been visited by President Obama and he has his own item on the menu. The atmosphere is modest and the location is decent with parking across the street. The only downside to location is that it sits at the intersection of a 1 way street, but thats no reason not to drive around the block. This location has become our breakfast stop after our weekend run in Long Beach.

Awesome chicken, macaroni and cheese, and gravy covered rice can be discovered here....but it is not cheap, whatsoever. This place can break your bank with ease, very unexpectedly. They also always have numerous bouncers or something loitering around the front door. Maybe this place is more dangerous and unsafe than I had thought. Actually, I really hadnt thought about any security measures, especially when it came to a chicken eatery. However, maybe the bouncer over-population is due to the undisputed fact that the majority of the patrons/visitors to this place are black people.....and apparently, they have a tendency to "wild out". Oh well, the food was still good, but again, the prices are steep. Maybe the regulars should stop "wilding out", and the prices might decline........Maybe..

I am at Roscoes chicken and waffles in Long Beach. the service and cleanliness of the building is very fast and uptight. I am into smiley faces I only see one worker smiling.I am having the chicken burger all white meat with lettuce and tomatoes and french fries I added cheese to the French fries into the sandwich. After waiting 10 minutes my order came out nice hot.I do not like how it looks on the play it just looks sloppy.I thought because I ate a long the server with interact with me more but she didnt been said it made the dining experienceA turn off Roscoes house of chicken and waffles itself was not dislikeable but if it tidy up a little bit it will be a great place to dine out in eat for the next 10 or 15 years.
