I came to this course in hopes of playing some Frisbee Golf on the supposed "only disc golf course in Orange County," according to the Huntington Beach Web Page but was surprised to find a poorly maintained course. That is, I didnt know where the first hole was and the signs that are supposed to label the next hole were both inconsistent and dirty. It was difficult to determine where the next hole was or if a hole existed at all. The park itself is beautiful for a run, a picnic, or anything else you want to do but the disc golf course is poorly maintained compared to the places Ive been across the country (Virginia, Nevada, Indiana). Furthermore, they require a fee to play on this course ($2 for weekdays and $3 for weekends/holidays). I have no idea where the money goes towards as the grounds are clearly worn down to dirt and I cannot stress how poor the signs are throughout the course. For the sake of honesty, I will also say that the Huntington Beach site needs to be updated for the fees associated with this course too. Again, the surroundings parks are beautiful, but just not for the Disc golf. Examples of poor maintenance includes: 1) At the start of each drive, the signs sometimes will tell you where the holes are and sometimes they wont. For a new person, this becomes a problem, if you dont have the course memorized. I will overlook the dirty signs since this is supposed to be a public park. 2) The trails are beaten down, especially at the first few holes. Where grass once stood, only dirt and mangled roots of trees remain. 3) I can understand an admissions fee, especially if its a well groomed course, but here its just shocking! I still dont understand why people would pay for mediocre service. After a bit more digging, I found that this is not the only course in Orange County with disc golf.

First came here in 1979 with the FVHS cross country team... we spent a lot of time running throughout the entire park. My kids have followed in my footsteps(literally!), so Ive spent even more time volunteering & watching cross country races. Great location, even though it has suffered a bit from the drought. Unfortunately the city thought it would be a good idea to turn a huge chunk of the land into a senior center. I wish they could have chosen another location that wasnt used so much by so many other people. I highly recommend this park if your looking for some open space with nice scenery. Theres also a small lake, a disc golf course, a restaurant, and, a dog park in the South West corner just off Edwards at the bottom of the hill.

The Park Bench Cafe in this area was a nice break from the mornings surfing trip to Dog Beach. The menu was amply diverse and reasonably priced. The service was fast, considering the busy state this place is in with families who enjoy sharing time with the family dogs. However, Id warn that asking for substitutions, optional sauces or changes on details be minimized. They seem to upcharge fro things like this and find that doing so will quell a persons desire to be served. They are wrong. People want what they want - serve it or dont. Otherwise the whole party agreed: this was a 5.

It the nature garden in.the middle of chaos. Huntington Beach has depleted in years since I got here in 1980. But this place has lots good memories of bringing my children. It lots area to walk and run. Or just to lay back take a nap in the sunshine and smell the aromas of nature. Cranes , ducks, butterflies to watch as well. ♥ Library big too. And it nice to love the poor who are homeless, it a blessing to meet up with any it gives me the time to share love in caring and compassion. If they need a place to rest may they find peace in doing so.

Took the wife and baby down to the park today for a nice long stroll. We had a wonderful time. Turns out, theres a lot of couples with young children doing the same. The cafe was excellent for breakfast. Highly recommended! Its nice to have a place for the kid to roll around in the grass. The birds were an added bonus! Very cool. Several types of ducks, geese, and some others I couldnt identify. We were interested in the Shipley Nature Center, but their hours are very inconcenient. 9-1 Mon-Sat. I might never make it. Oh well...

This is a gorgeous Park; two lakes, two lakeside restaurants, a senior center, a spectacular Library, acres of walking and biking trails, green lawns, areas for large and another for small dogs, three or more childrens play areas, beautiful trees, flowers, squirrels, ducks, geese and much, much more! You will love this Park!!!

I like this spot on the Edwards St entrance. If you walk the sidewalk in a circle its 2miles. Then theres some hidden stairs by the pond up to where they play Frisbee golf, I like to hit those a good 10x then call it a day. Its a pretty quiet park on that side unless theres a bday pary @ the benches but no bother.

Were so grateful to have this beautiful Park within reach. There are two restaurants in the park that are dog friendly. You like to have a meal at one of these two restaurants and then walk the dogs around the park. The park is on a migration flyway which makes for a wonderful bird watching year round

Love this park very big and spacious. Plenty of room to have your own space. You can LARP here without worrying about people being judgmental and calling the cops to kick you out since its a pretty regular occurrence here. Just love this park all sport activities and play styles are welcome here.

Great Big Beautiful park! Theres a restaurant in the parking area, Kathy Mays Lakeview Cafe thats open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The park is vast, comfortable, and my truck was well shaded by the large trees. Very clean, and well manicured.

I love this place. Its nice to just walk around to check out the secret garden and views of the lake. I come here to workout, the whole circle trail is a little over a mile with various workout stations placed along the way. I come here all the time
