Whats not to love about Phantom Ales? By far this is one of my favorite breweries in Orange County. I have been here a few times and each time I received the same quality service. This brewery focuses on traditional English and American ales, so if youre looking for the popular sours, look elsewhere. However, try their ciders, mm mm good! Phantom Ales is a little hidden but love the location. The past few times, I went it wasnt too busy so parking wasnt a problem. The atmosphere is different from other breweries, more of a modern classy feel to it. I personally enjoy it more than other breweries. This place is definitely full service, offering craft beer, fine wine, and delicious food. The pints range from $7-9, a little more on the pricey side but they are good. One of my favorite drinks is the Peach Cider. Crispy refreshing tangy taste! I prefer wine, so I cant wait to come back and have a couple wine flights. The food is exceptional. The sliders are always a good safe choice, but the dish I enjoyed the most was the Hot & Bothered Burger served with crispy house-kettle chips. It was so tender, juicy and full of flavor. Most breweries will not offer a full kitchen as an option, but so glad this isnt the case for Phantom. My friends have also recommended the Bacon Nachos and Tacos. Phantom Ales is a great place to enjoy a bite to eat or some fine drinks. Cant wait till my next visit!

Ive always heard about Phantom Ales but didnt snatch up the chance to go. The past week when the opportunity presented itself again, I went. Phantom Ales is tucked away I this little industrial area in Placentia. I thought I knew what I was getting into, but it was apparent that I didnt. Looking at the beer board I said the typical ales, ( because after all it is called Phantom Ales) but something else caught my eye. Mead. That was a first. Ive never seen Mead on a menu at any other Brewery I had been too. Most of the Meads were on the higher alcohol content as well; 11-14%. So I decided to try one of them. It was interesting to say the least. A sweet type of beer, somewhat like a mixture of cider and beer made with honey, fruit, yeast and water with a higher alcohol content. The first one went down smooth. By the time the second came one around I was already in a good place. Apparently Mead is the original nectar of the gods. In a booming Craft beer scenes with literally, breweries popping up everywhere, I think Phantom Ales has found a little niche for themselves. Check out the food here too the kitchen is great!

I came for a short but sweet visit to Southern California and stumbled upon this micro brewery thanks to an Uber driver (shot out - thanks Isaac)! Just like one of the other reviews mentioned- this place is a hidden gem! When my friend and I pulled up to the outside we werent sure to expect since its inside an office plaza. We almost thought we had the wrong place. Once we were in however we were greeted by a warm atmosphere and found it to be really down to earth and fun. There are big tables and even board games in the back that you can play while sipping on some great beer. We were helped by Jes (Jessica) and she was awesome! Im from South Florida and good service, down to earth personalities, and a true want to help the customer/guest is so rare. Jessica let us try different beers and had a very fun and engaging personality that added a great flare to the place! Please thank her! I cant wait to come back the next time Im in the OC area :-)

This place is easy to miss. It is surrounds by warehouses so be on the look out. I really like the vibe of this place. It is a brewery but also serves food and drinks. We were lucky to have gotten to happy hour and I believe it was a dollar off drinks and appetizer. You should check what it is now. Anyways the bartender was quick to get us our drinks and food. The food wasnt too bad, it was very delicious and had a lot of flavor. The selection of alcohol is diversed so you will find something you will like, they have anything from dark beers to light beers to ciders. They do have some interesting flavors of ciders, I had the hibiscus and it had an interesting taste that was smooth and definitely enjoyed it. If you want to watch sports they do have tvs so dont be worries. If you want to play some games they also have some. Great place to decompress and have a beer.

Like many breweries, this location is out of the way. You would never stumble upon it and decide on a whim to drink there. Im not sure if that is a great way to get new customers, but it is kinda cool for it to be by word of mouth, and if you go there on a Monday night like I did, be the only people there. I like the set up of this brewery compared to many others in the area. Its cozier. There are tvs that were playing the Angels game, and my bro and I played dominos for awhile. One of these days Im going to start a brewery of my own and have only giant sofas for sitting. It would be so comfortable no one would want to leave. I got a dark belgian ale which was fantastic. My bro got a stout that was really good, but very rich. It would be hard to drink more than one of those. Ill definitely be back.

Its what you want in a low pressure brewery. There were enough chairs to seat very large party, and they had various selection which at least everyone could enjoy. Among my favorites were the caramel coffee Imperial Stout and the darth czar. Food is also available at this location which is nice. However they did not offer any suggestions of the pairings on the menu I like this place because even though you are inside of a industrial complex with the brewery it isnt cold or drafty. They also have a varying selection of boardgames to keep you entertained as you drink your beer. Mega fun.

Great ambiance and atmosphere! Phantom Ales has a down-to-earth feel - when we visited, the brew master was casually walking about and chatting with a few of the locals. We learned what type of hops they put in their mead as well as the scotch ale they were brewing up for the day. Not necessarily baby/toddler-friendly (there are no high chairs and the seating is all high-tops with stools), but you can certainly bring a high chair traveler. Also, for the older kids, they have a ton of board games to keep everyone entertained.

The staff is very friendly and they do serve food, which is something the other breweries in the area do not offer. They always brew in small quantities, so they try lots of different styles and have a good selection of beers and ciders. Unfortunately, they do run out of some of their beers and it may be a while before they serve that beer again. For home brewers, they also have a brewing supply shop with a good selection of malt, hops, yeast, and equipment.

Love the beer! Employees are friendly and knowledgeable about beer. The food is good and (NOT OVER PRICED). Great atmosphere and the wife likes going. I like the fact the location is tucked off of the beaten path and close to my house! The brew supplies is a big bonus for me because I dont have to drive far to get my supplies or order them online. Keep up the good work Phantom!
