If i could give negative stars I would. Let me start by saying, oh my gosh. Oh. My. Gosh. So we pull up in a cab. The city is full of cabs, everyone knows this. He pulls over to the side of the street where the club is and sorta pulls on the curb a little, accidently. The bouncers immediately start talking to him, CRAZY. He is trying to respond and all he is sayinh is that he was trying to get out of the way and not hold up the flow of traffic. This is what they said. Verbatim: "listen dirt bag, next time dont pull up on the curb, or Ill be taking your green card". Sign number 1 that we should not have gone in. So we get in with promoters and everyone in there is foreign and racist. I mean, I was sober, and I was being shoved out of the way by people and then watching them take their time easing around girls of a different complexion. BUT, this is not what I went out for, and Ive had worse experiences in Miami. So I ignored it and forced myself to have a good time. At the end of the night, coat check had lost my friends coat. I was already outside the club waiting so I do not know what transpired between my friends and the employees inside. But I do know that they were practically pushed out of the club and all she was saying is I want my coat and it was not happening for us. An argument ensued between another friend and the bouncers and he said "Im glad i dont have to deal with your ass again". It is problematic for me because black men are already showing us little to no respect. These bouncers disrespected the heck out of us, in front of everyone. I wont be going back. And i think the BEST part about it, is that from the time we got there to the time we left, they played about 3/4 songs that werent by a black artist. We must be monkeys to them. Just there for entertainment but unworthy of basic respect. This review is being written for US. It isnt going to matter any other way. I saw the clientele they care about last night, and i know for sure they could give 2 f**ks about whether any of us show up there again.

My friend and I are in town for business and decided to have a great evening out for dancing and drinks and the "door boys" were the rudest! I have never in my life felt so disrespected by someone who makes only $10 an hour to pretend hes worth more. Keep in mind, my friend and I are very attractive sexy but classy professional young ladies.... This place was recommended for us to go. Why exactly did the door boy lie for no reason at all. Im not sure but one completely gave me the run around "you have to make reservations" so we asked ok how do we do that, and he tells us online. We made the reservation and went back to him and he says "someone will contact you shortly..." And my friend says, "ok when". And his responses was not tonight." In the mean time some half naked girls walk up and they let them in. By this time my friend goes around and tells him that we are on a list and he says "reservations are closed." I will never be able to get that pointless one minute of my life back.... EVER...!!! So I went to another side and finally got the whole truth from another door boy as I was trampolled over by completely wasted out of their mind girls who were going inside the club. Its a pick and choose game by rejects who have nothing better going on for themselfs in life.... No thanks. Ive been to 1Oak in Vegas perhaps I just need to stick to that location. No one should be subjected to the disgusting disrespect of 1Oak NYC especially when clearly we are not even in the same tax bracket. My advice, dont waste your precious time or uber/taxi money going here. These peons are all about disrespecting people as opposed to guarding the door and doing their job or perhaps its in the requisition for the position that they act that way.... Not sure and dont care bc I wont be back to the NYC location.

Dear Mr. Akiva , I read the Instagram post and I was saddened. As the proprietor and Im assuming relatively learned man, it doesnt even echo an apology . Off rip an "Im sorry, well look into it" wouldve gone a long way. Instead its a rant that deflects & dismisses the shared experiences of several different groups that share the same sentiment. If youre citing Black elite (models, actors, musicians, athletes ) as proof of inclusion and acceptance, you have a longggggg way to go. I have black friends is a played out and unacceptable catch phrase overused and outdated as racism itself. You have a problem with patrons that dont fit a certain socio-economic requirement ? Thats fine. POC will take their hard earned GREEN money elsewhere. Black people are well aware of colorism, know what it looks like , and were all groomed to deal with it differently . Everyone cant be lying. While you may not personally be on the front lines , the people you hire clearly have some inherent biases that need to be checked. If the overwhelming response from ALL THREE clubs look the same ...idk bro maybe YOU do have micro aggressions that need to be checked as well. Clearly , "something in the milk aint clean" cause the employees are a reflection of you as a boss. Now you know better , do better. Or close . Its on you.

Ok - short story about this so called fancy club: I took out my girlfriends from Paris the other night - Girls are very pretty and we all were dressed really nice in a quality clothes and accessories. It was 4 beautiful girls. We came up to 1ok, that had this stupid line of 5-7 boys and girls waiting to get in ( was a wednesday night - clubs are not that full to make these lines) - so they put me and my girls to the same line - in 10 minutes they asked us to leave the line moving us on a side - and said that we can`t come in... And one of this "low IQ" hostess said - that " I was ok - but my 3 girlfriends were TOO SHORT" and we can`t come in...Can you imagine?!! - that is actually a physical (hight) discrimination! Too short to party, dance, drink??!!! That`s ridiculous! Note - my girls were from 55 till 57 plus hight heels - I`m 510...I can see pretty easy the quality of people - 70% of men and women over there is so-so - cheap glamour looks and cheap attitude....and NOt as much fun. It was my 3rd try to understand if this club is worthy the money and time - No....To all hot looking girls and to all quality guys - believe me the attitude of this lousy place doesn`t cost your party night!!!....
