AWESOME! My husband and I discovered WLW several years ago while looking for a place to take some of our friends and family who were visiting us in Laurel BLoomery. Everyone weve taken there has absolutely loved the hospitality shown by the owners and staff. The wine tasting experience has been catered to all the different people. We now have a vacation rental cottage less than two miles from WLW and suggest to all of our guests they make a visit to the winery, eventhough they may not care for wine, the history of the "converted school building" and its "friendly ghost" is worth the visit! Wonderful afternoon! Great wines and a chance to try some I didnt know about. Love the award winning dessert wine....but Im going to use it on fruit for breakfast! Beautiful drive to the location - around Watauga Lake and through the mountains. Plan to spend the day in the area...but even better, come for one of their wine events and spend the night at a nearby bed and breakfast in Butler.

We love TN wineries and this is our new favorite. Ben gave us a tour of this repurposed school that is WAY off the beaten path. It was like stepping into an Italian winery. $5 tasting for 6 samples plus a souvenir glass. Closed Tues/Wed. So glad we took that "moonshine road". Ben even suggested as great ride around the lake that we would have missed. We will return!
