Great old theater. The building is well maintained and has good AC for the summer. The seating is nice, (but the legroom left my 65" frame pretty sore). A great place downtown for local theater, been around for decades. Definitely worth checking out a show if you are in the area, they typically (though not always) will have seats available for walk-ins.

Bartell is a well located small theater and is a fun place to see community productions. Strollers theater company put on a surprisingly good performance of Amadeus.

Great theatre with two stages. They have an inexpensive bar and snacks and friendly employees. Between broom Street and here its local Madison theatre at its best!

The Bartell serves an important function in Madison, as it is the home for several theatre troupes and LGBT theatre. I cant imagine Madison without it!
