A true "resort course" feel that reminded me of playing in Brainerd. If every hole looked like #7 "The Pines" this course would be absolutely top-tier in the midwest. As it is, it is a great hidden gem with many fun and challenging holes, but also a couple hokey ones thrown in that dont reward good shots. You really would need to play this course several times to get a good sense how to play it. I played it from the tips and found myself constantly questioning between driver or hybrid off the tee because of the numerous sharp doglegs and elevation changes. At 7,180 yards, hitting hybrids off many tees left very long approach shots. The biggest area of improvement would be raking the bunkers daily as they almost all looked like the beaches of Normandy. Im accustomed to playing good golf courses, and this one did not disappoint. If you are looking for a fun round, a challenge and to perhaps raise your handicap a couple of strokes, I suggest playing at White Eagle a couple of times.

This course makes me think Im up north at one of the expensive ones. Today was my 3rd round here, and once again I was amazed at every aspect. Course maintenance and conditions including greens - perfect again. I mean it - there may have been 2 holes with grass in the rough about 1/2" too tall - but thats because I was in the rough, next to water. The layout overall is phenomenal. The design of each hole is well thought out - including some very interesting holes with EXTREME elevation changes. They have the best carts - the quiet electric ones with the big GPS map with yardages to waypoints, to the group in front of you, and easy ordering of food at the 9 turn. Even the food is awesome. Lastly, the value. I cant believe they do not charge much more. If you are within a couple hours and are looking for a new favorite course, go here. We will continue to make the 1 hour each way trek from where we are, without thinking twice. Go.

This is my second favorite course in the twin cities, next to Troy Burne. Price is far less here, so I tend to play this quite a bit more. The course is always in spectacular condition, the layout can get somewhat gimmicky on a couple holes, but for the most part offers a fair challenge. Staff is extremely friendly and the beverage cart is always around before you finish your beer. Golf carts come with the most sophisticated GPS Ive seen built in. They show golf carts around you, so if you have a blind shot, you can just look at the GPS to see if you can play. Overall, this place is a gem thats just far enough from the cities and just expensive enough that you dont get new players slowing things down. One of the best golf experiences you can possibly get.

Id rate it 4.5 stars. Beautiful course. Super difficult from back tees. Accurate gps carts (Id check what the cart said vs my laser and was always with in 2 yards of what cart said.) Hole 6 and 16 are not great designs though. Hence the 4.5 rating. Great value for the money. They have all day rates as well. Very scenic through the woods. Great greens and very well maintained/manicured.

You cannot beat this course for value, challenge, and scenery. A championship course without homes every 300. The greens are speeding up with new maintenance team in 2014 and they are constantly improving the overall experience. Keep this on your must play list

One of the most scenic golf courses near Saint Paul. The carts are fairly limited by GPS mainly to keep the course in good condition. If you like to hit the long ball check this course out!

This is a top course, just a notch under nearby Stoneridge. But the value and the effort the team is putting together is 5 stars. Layout and care are very good.
