After havingsome disappointing dining experiences in this area while on vacation, i hunkered down on the reviews to find a good restaurant to take my young family. Enter Zoes. We got there around 5:15 right after they opened, so there werent many people there (which is good when you bring your 2 year old). Our service (Kate) was stellar and attentive, the atmosphere is very nice in the restaurant, which was warm and modern. The food portions are smaller (no leftovers) but that didnt bother me because it was delicious! We split the bluecrab mac for an appetizer, very tasty. I had the grouper, which was substituted for flounder but prepared the same way. My wife had the filet mignon. The kids choices were basically the same as everywhere except they came with an appetizer (raw vegetables and peanut butter/ranch) and dessert (icecream) excellent touch! She mostly liked the peanut butter and dessert (typical 2 year old) Other than the prices being a bit tall (just under 110 pretip), which I knew going in, everything was just as most all of the reviews have rated. I would definitely go there again for a special treat next time I am vacationing in VA Beach. This restaurant gets it right for fine dining, so if that is what you are looking for, go to Zoes.

Used to have a praised and delicious crab mac&cheese. Actually had a write up about it in the virginia pilot newspaper years ago. Well that was years ago, im a lifetime oceanfront resident of VB and ordered 2 servings to go of the once "infamous" crabmeat mac&cheese. What i got was roughly 4 tablespoons of undercooked pasta giant shells with sprinkled on parm and not a suttle hint of real crabmeat. Literally little to none at all. Bland, tasteless pasta w/nothing but a hint of backfin crabmeat and parm sprinkled on it for $30. Disappointing and a complete ripoff. Id rather have made a 1.99 box of velveeta shells. Do yourself a favor folks, im in no way affiliated with them but ive lived here all my life and know where to go. Tautogs on 23rd between atlantic and pacific. $10.99 crabmeat nachos w/heaps of crabmeat and can feed 2-3 people easy. Dont normally mess with reviews but felt ripped off so here it is. Go see for yourself and im sure youll agree 100%...sorry Zoes, dont know what you were thinkin with that mess..juust sayin

We went there on a Thursday night right as they were opening at 17:00 hours. We looked at the menu and thought , we could not spend that much. I then found the 5:00 pm to the 5:59pm menu. I ordered the Angus steak and an appetizer for local shrimp. Matt was our waiter, who was perfect. He was on top of his game. We never had to ask for a drink, he went far beyond what any waiter could do. After the meal, Matt offered dessert and I had coffee. My lips were smacking me silly, it was so GOOD. We had ice cream and all the fixings. The meal was $140.82, yes, the price was expensive, but why complain. Matts tip was $29.00, he was worth every dime. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy an excellent meal. The bathrooms, were clean, stocked and even a black toilet. The environment was quiet and romantic. People complain, and people have opinions. Yeah, so what.

Well I must say that to go to such a awesome restaurant was unbelievable from the time we got there to when we left it was an unforgettable experience. The food was well amazing.....I am not a big fish person but my hat is off to the chef.... the salad was unlike anyone I have ever had in the past, we started it all off with a shrimp dish that was delicious....To the staff Thank you for making my wonderful womans birthday so nice. To the chef Thank you for such an amazing and delicious meal unlike any I have eaten in my life...........I cant wait to try you other choices on the menu. Until next time THANKS TO ALL AT ZOES!! Worth the 1hr drive and the money!! Others said it is expensive....I think it is worth every penny Thanks again!

yeeeeaaah, its ok. high price with ok food, i spent 50 for one meal without the drink and I was still hungry when I left. 100 for 2. you have to be really drunk to like the food, taste just like tgi fridays if youre sober. parking is horrible, you pay all that money for food and they make you park across the street illegaly w/ the risk of getting towed. I had better experience and service at olive garden. I could be wrong maybe it was just that night when I went there. but I heard they had better management and service years ago, and they served more food and the portions were bigger. if you make 90,000 a year? you would like this place, but if you make a third of that a year, like me? prepare to leave your car as a payment = (

WOW! My fiancée and I had the most AMAZING experience this past Thursday for our date night at Zoes while on vacation. Needless to say this is our new favorite restaurant. Where to start? The valet was very courteous and opened my fiancées door. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and they were giving roses⚘ (red & white) to all the ladies that were dining. They even color-coordinated our cloth napkins (light/dark) to our attire. Candle light at every table and rose as well. The ambiance was truly fantastic and you could tell the effort that the establishment takes to raise the standards of fine dining. Now to the food: From start to finish..EXCELLENT!

First off my wife and I arrived early for our reservation and was told it was ok and were seated, we were promptly served water by a very courteous young man and were then waited on by Jennifer who had a clear and very polite ,well spoken way about her and a very helpful manner....the crab bisque is to die for along with the mac and cheese with crab..we ordered the steak and let me tell you, it was hands down the best steak Ive ever eaten, the cook/owner was amazing and approached our table with an amazing personality and we told him how wonderful the restaurant was, we live in Va.Beach but if your visiting you have to try this place, EXCELLENT!

I work in the fine dining industry.............Hands down, one of the best places Ive ate in the state of VA. The staff and the kitchen is top notch. This is not just a "tourist trap" this is a place for people who can appreciate real food. Every single person you meet from the time you pull into the parking lot until you leave is fantastic. Im taking home a few of their techniques with me and cannot wait to sit at the Chefs Table again. Special thank you to Chef Wykel for truly taking the time to connect with his GUEST and making us feel like more than a $ sign. The sky is the limit for each and every person working here.

This restaurant was terrific, if not a bit pricey. The food was delicious, and even though my wifes steak had to be returned to the grill twice to get it at the right temperature, the manager, herself made sure it was perfect. There was a very large birthday party going on in the back and that did cause our waiters service to be a bit lacking, but the manager made up for it, and then some! I will say, however, that the ambiance is not what my wife and I considered to be "family-friendly" so be aware of that and set expectations accordingly. Overall, Zoes is an excellent little place in Virginia Beach!!
