As the father of three boys who love to roller skate, I am a regular customer here. Among weekly admission fees and a recent birthday party for my twin boys, I have spent over $800 here in the past five months. This place has the potential to be great, but the incredibly rude customer service and the constant attempts at nickel and diming customers makes it very difficult to be a happy customer. I encountered a perfect example of their horrendous attitude toward customers on New Years Eve day. I called ahead to ask for the skating session hours. The woman who answered the phone told me the daytime skate session ran from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and that the night time session began at 8 p.m. and ran until 1 a.m. She didnt bother to tell me that there were two special policies in place for the day -- an admission fee increased to $10.00 per person and much more importantly that there would be no free admission for parents who chose not to skate. On every other day we have ever been here...and we have been here dozens of times, parents who dont skate are not charged an admission fee. Since by boys are all under 12, I genereally prefer to stay and watch them skate. When we arrived at around 1 p.m., we were greeted by a rude, overweight woman we have never met before. She nastily told us that we would have to pay the $10.00 admission fee to watch our kids skate. I nicely told her that we were regular customers and really would have appeciated being told about this special New Years Eve policy when we called ahead. She dismissed this comment by asking what my inquiry on the phone had been. I told her I had asked for the skate session hours. She arrogantly said, "if they answered your question and gave you the hours, then they did their job." I responded that it seemed silly that I should have to have interrogated the woman on the phone to get important information that most guests would want. I said, "I am not, in the slightest, arguing your choice to implement a special policy....what is upsetting is that you didnt think it was worth telling callers that there would be a special policy in place for the day." She said, "Im sorry you;re unhappy, but theres nothing I can do." I then mentioned that smart management, in my view, would make an exception for a regular and loyal customer. This large, unpleasant woman then identified hereself as Karen Bolinski, general manager and threw her business card at me. I paid the admission for my three children ($30.00) and decided to allow them to skate alone for the session while I ran some errands rather than pay an extra $20.00 for the two of us to watch the kids skate. There are very few days that we take the kids to this place that we dont spend significant extra money...usually $24.00 for two games a laser tag for each child and at least an extra $15.00 or $20.00 on soda and video games. What Ms. Bolinski, who clearly doesnt have a Haravard MBA, succeeded in accomplishing with her rudeness and rigidity was actually losing revenue. Since we just dropped the boys off, we didnt buy any laser tag games, video games or refreshments. More importantly, Ms. Bolinksi left an incredibly sour taste in my mouth that, among other things, made me take the time to write this review. Since our boys like skating here so much, we will clearly come back...but you can be sure that I will strongly discourage them from having their birthday party here again (we spent over $300.00 on the party here this year) and will be sure to spread a negative message about the place to other parents. In short, Ms. Bolinksi screwed up.

I was very excited to go there but the high school experience that I gained from there was awful. I will just tell you one experience, I was skating with two of my friends, helping them out, when this very silly little high school kid who I have no idea of, grabbed my phone from my hand and ran in the circle of the rink towards the door. He thought I didnt know how to skate but too bad I did, I ran after him and got him, and this little punk literally threatened me with his sister like for real?! The other one was this guy accidentally bumping in to my butt really hard, and this guy is really good at skating but he "accidentally" did this. Good part was security kicked the kid who stole my phone but honestly just for a nice skating trip with friends I didnt expect such an awful time, We just left the rink later because I fell to the floor getting the little punk and hurt myself but Im never going there again, and I wouldnt recommend any girl to go alone, make sure to take your guy friends.

Tonight I took my daughter and her 2 best friends to Skating. They are beginners. From the reception at the front door where you pay, to EVERY staff member I encountered...........the attitudes, professionalism, manners and friendliness was so impressive. I asked Scott, the manager of the evening who his boss is to make sure she knows first hand how well that place is run. And it is no way easy to do, and the crew tonight made it look easy. They were super organized, there to answer a question, and when I needed ice for one my kids, the food service lady stopped with courtesy and handed it right to me. (knowing that was a priority, because if was for an injury) I am so impressed, and pleased. My kids are not of age to be without my guidance, but I would feel more than secure leaving them when they are of age. A big KUDOS to Scott, the manager. You can tell how he manages and treats his staff, thats what keeps them pleasant and desire to do well. Thank guys.

My daughter celebrated her 7th birthday party here today and it was truly amazing. The staff was tremendously helpful through it all. From the beginning to when we set up a party date and time to set up for the guests arriving to ensuring that all of our every need was met. I greatly appreciate the entire staff for their customer service which was excellent. From the timing of each event for the party was perfect! Time for the guests to eat, to signing happy birthday with a birthday princess to Laser Tag (Think the adults loved this the most- I did lol) to the Play zone and to of course skating. I would definitely recommend Skate and Fun Zone for a birthday party. Thank you so very much to the Entire Staff and to the coordinators for their hospitality!

We had a great time; music was moving and the food was pretty good. A bit slow in service but the prices were pretty reasonable. We went on Monday night and the price was only $1.99 to skate plus the rental. The shoes (i wear a 11M) and they were not very good but after the 3rd attempt, I found a pair that kept me skating the rest of the session. The only thing that wasnt clear was the DJ...he talked too fast and I couldnt understand him hardly at all. My boys and I enjoy the place and will go again when we get a chance. Thinking of buying my own skates as the rental is $4.25 per person.
