We recently enjoyed An Evening with David Sedaris at the Wortham. The lobby area and balconies outside the theaters themselves are furnished with many comfortable chairs. Many people were enjoying food and drinks before the show started. The balcony area inside the theater is very steep-- some people complained they felt dizzy. Sound from the stage carried fairly well to the balcony seats. The seats are not labeled very intuitively; several members of the audience were confused because both the sections and the rows are lettered, but one can only identify the letter of a given row. There is no readily visible indication of which section is which. Finally, parking in the garage across from the Wortham, while convenient, is in the most claustrophobic parking structure Ive driven through. Please, please, if you dont drive a compact car, do not park in a compact spot and leave your car jutting into the lane.

Just went for the first time to see the Houston Ballet perform Cinderella. The facility was beautiful. The seats were comfortable and the views were good. We sat in the last row in the Orchestra section (lower level) and had no issues seeing the performance. The only negative I have is they were selling 20 ounce bottles of soda outside of the theater but ban them from being brought into the theater. I dont know about you but chugging a 20oz soda in 5-10 mins isnt something Im fond of. Granted, the prices arent outrageous for the drinks. But, this just creates a ton of unnecessary trash as most wont finish their sodas during the intermissions. Outside of that trivial issue, we loved this theater and will definitely come back.

Beautiful, modern, great acoustics, and best of all the Houston Grand Opera is amazing. However, the way the building is structured can be difficult to navigate especially if you are handicapped. You end up going up and down stairs or elevators to go to the same place across the way. Also, if you are seated in one of the upper levels you can get vertigo because it slopes high very quickly.

Great venue to watch the Nutcracker or any ballet. Parking isnt too bad around the area, and the venue is nice and big. Only reason I deduct a star is the venue looks outdated. It looks old on the inside and I wish they would upgrade their large stairs to escalators. Lot of walking involved for my wife when she usually wears heels for these events.

The space is gorgeous, there is no denying that. However, they could use an update in the main lobby. I think there is a classier way to display all of the sponsors rather than large hanging signs. The carpets are in a dire need of redo and the walls could use some new paint. Also, the water fountains dont work.

We saw the Nutcracker and it was wonderful. We didnt get anything to eat or drink, but the employees we encountered were very kind. There was an organized chaos around the drink and food areas, didnt seem too bad. Parking wasnt fun. Allow a teensy bit of extra time for that. Thats Houston though!

I love the facility and performance. We watched Faust and it was great — decorations, costumes, and, most important, performance! Ticket price is affordable compared to Dallas opera. It was getting chilly by the end of performance, so may be a shawl is a good idea to take there.

Excellent staff and always personable. Each year I work here, there faculties are always kept to the best quality. Parking is easy now that we park in the under ground movie theater parking with direct connection to the Wortham via a tunnel. Usually its $10 for event parking.

I went to see Bo Burnham on October 11 in the Cullen Center. The sound system was so horrible I could only understand about 10% of of what Bo said. My wife and son had the same problem. I would never waste money again on anything playing in the Cullen Center.

Usually outstanding, last weekend we were in seats that were double sold, usher was way less than helpful, she made us go across the street to the box office (like we asked for seats that were sold twice...) and we missed the first 7-8 minutes of the show.

So beautiful! Very professional and feels very extravagant. The performance I saw was also top tier ballet with dancers who did absolutely wonderful! Theres also student discounts for those interested (like myself). Surpassed expectations.

Parking was easier than expected. Workers were very helpful. Theater seating was comfortable, though a little low for anyone 6ft or taller. Sound system was not the greatest, but the concert was awesome. Had a great time.

Ive really enjoyed productions here. Spectacular venue with a broad variety of shows. Even Erasure during their acoustic tour. I will have to say if you dont care for heights the upper balcony has a rather steep angle.

A visit to the opera is always great. Get here early so you dont have to fight your way through the parking lot, though. Ive also been here for a few other performances through the years - its a great venue.

My experience here was lovely... About the last review. Hey no duh! Thats at any major show/venue. Everybody leaves at the same time. On top of that it was downtown Houston. What do you expect?

Ive been in many theatres around the world. The Wortham offers a very enjoyable experience at a great price. Its also easy to access and leave. And there are many great dining options nearby.

Five stars because I love the Houston Ballet but trying to get to your seat with a handicapped person is stressful. I wish there was a better way instead of lining up for the two elevators.

Beautiful theater! The ballet performed the nutcracker and it was awesome. Nothing to complain about except that parking can be crazy, they need way more exits. Worth paying for this

THE PEOPLE WHO WORKED THERE SOME WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND SOME WERE NOT. I WISH THEY HAD MORE TO OFFER IN THERMS OF REFRESHMENTS AND THEY COULD USE A LITTLE BAR LOUNGE OUTSIDE.

No bad seats in this theatre, but they are a little tight with limited leg room. It can be a little confusing about where to park, but the parking attendants are helpful.

Saw and Opera here. Since i am a big fat dude, the seating was super un-comfortable. Maybe i will enjoy it more when i go back after loosing some of my weight

Houston is blessed with wonderful theaters. This tends to be overcrowded and LOUD. where are the acoustic tiles? Is this a design flaw or are Houstonians ...

Wonderful space. Saw Nixon in China and it was a wonderful experience. Food and drinks in the lobby before the performance and during intermission.

Went to see Harry Belafonte speak in the Brilliant Series, which was impressive hearing him speak about his life. Downtown parking is a mess
