People who have grown up around this place could never imagine how lucky they are to have access to this enormous sample of Tennessee wilderness inside the Nashville city limits. It would most certainly have been turned into a gathering of mini-mansions had it not been gifted to our great city & state on the condition that it remain untouched grounds for the public to enjoy. From its heart to its perimeter it is thick with everything from wild berries to wildlife making their home on the forrest floor beneath the canopy of every variety of Maple tree you could name. Our favorite reason to visit is for viewing the handful of Super Moons we have throughout the year. Its one of the only places you can enjoy the kind of dark darkness needed for star-gazing when you live in a metropolitan area. One caveat...know where you entered, where youre going, how to get there, and how to get out. GPS maps dont work well inside the park and I assume it is in the interest of preserving the true natural environment there is NO indication anywhere inside the park of where you are or how to get out. This can be truly terrifying if darkness falls and you are on foot and even fairly scary in your car.

Edwin Warner park is enormous with a connecting path to the Harpeth River Greenway. Of the 4 Miles I ran, Id say 80% was shaded with Dogs allowed on leashes, Runners, walkers and Bikes. The park also has a great nature center, outdoor garden, info center and a Library. There is a small pond to the side and of the trails I ran one had signs for a guide as a nature trail and one lead to a platform for bird viewing. There were also two bird blinds I saw. I went on two fairly easy trails and generated about a mile of a run - there was another longer option as well and the candy cane connector (I think about .7 of a mile) will take you into Percy Warner park. Excited to explore more but up front it seems like this is a more casual and nature/kids park with educational programs and Percy Warner is more hiker and outdoors specific. Both have running trails but only Edwin Warner has an easier paved running Greenway. Though its certainly do-able, I would not personally run the roads through Percy Warner since theyre very fairly steep and there are many blind turns to deal with cars and bikes.

Best part of living in the Bellevue Area is this park. From the Nature Center to all the different trails the more time you spend in the park the more cool stuff you will learn about it. The staff in the nature center are AMAZING, they are literally so great they make me happy to pay taxes. Multiple times my wife and I have spotted birds that we had never seen before and then went and asked the staff information about them. They were able to show us fascinating information about the aviary we encountered. When my nieces were in town the nature center staff let us check out little nets and backpacks so the kids could go and catch tadpoles. This park is a gift to all the people who are close to it.

Maybe the best park of Nashville for someone used to the outdoors of the west coast. Great park with a variety of terrain - from hilly forests to flat and open spaced fields. Decent picnic areas. The "dirt park" for kids is a good place to let them burn off some energy. Theres a story trail with pages from a kids story book laminated and pinned along a trail through the woods - a superb idea. Also a great vegetable garden area and - during May and early June - a pond full of wonderful bullfrogs.

Great Trails! I have lived here for a year now and I have still not explored the entire park, it is huge! I love how the trees overly most of the trails and keeps it cool in the summer. Dogs are welcome here and they also have a dog park nearby. Ive seen deer, owls, chipmunk, and a coupl e of other wild life while walking here. I would reccomend this park to anyone looking for a nice walking trail.

Love the park! Nice shaded walking paths that could stand to be widened a bit to accommodate walkers and the many runners without having to step into the brush to move out of each others way. If youre looking for a nice walk, hike, jog, etc... EWP is a great place for it!

This park is a wonderful place to walk, hike and enjoy nature. It hilly but not unbearably so. The paved old roads are pretty easy to walk although there are some nice inclines. The hiking trails are easy to moderate. Its the best way to spend a fall afternoon.

The park is well maintained, clean and full of friendly people that enjoy nature just as much as I do. The paved paths are wide enough for large groups with dogs to pass with ease. The landscape is stunning! Autumn is my favorite, but its beautiful year-round.

Great place to play in the sand walk,or bike. The kids will like the activities in the nature center. Grab a purple backpack for the kids. The backpack has activities in it for the kids to do while hiking, like nets to catch tadpoles. It is free to do.

New thing, people think this is a park for people... Youll see some playing catch or lacrosse with 2-3+ people. Then theyll get upset when a dog takes the ball. Its a DOG PARK!!! Take your people games right across the street to the people park...

This is a beautiful park! Well maintained, plenty of space to roam around. Serene surroundings. It has multiple pavilions that you can rent for gatherings. Several wonderful hiking trails. It is a true gem for this area in Tennessee! I love it!!

This place is great on many levels. It has an area for recreation and then multiple trails for all levels of intensity. Great for little kids, pets, for long walks or for a more serious hike. Also see the nature center and garden.

Nashville has several big parks right in the center of the city. This is one of them. The good: it has a number of family picnic sites. The bad: trails are not well marked and you can get lost. Which we did.

I love this park! The park offers a variety of activities for the whole family, including pick nicking, hiking, bike riding, and a playground for the little ones. Make sure to visit the garden and visitors center.

Every time I come to Edwin Warner Park, I hear birds and rivers, not the busyness of the world. It is a peaceful place to play, hike, walk, or just be. Definitely a bright spot on the Nashville scene. Love it.
