Im a very laid back understanding person, but I gotta say mynt was not as great of a place as it should have been. Its a big bar, with an outdoor bar also. I didnt check out the outdoor bar though so nothing to write about that. So I went there for a bar crawl, not many people there yet, I ordered my drinks and then even ordered food as it was the last spot. The guy bartender that night was solid but the girl bartender had way too much attitude and came off like she didnt want to be there or make good money from tips. The food easily took over 30 min (chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks), so I asked the girl if my food would almost be ready, and received "you have to understand theres other people who also ordered food"... Ya thats a great response if you didnt say "you have to understand" especially when there was barely anyone in the bar yet, again if it was busy, packed I understand the long wait, there was barely anyone in there yet... So when I finally got the food she brought me the wrong food and left the chicken fingers while I asked about the mozzarella sticks (those take a few minutes to make). The chicken tenders were brutal, easily the worse Ive ever had, so watery that my gf didnt even want half of the one she started eating. The mozzarella sticks were solid though, but I was blamed by the bartender for her giving me the wrong order. This out of all the bars we went to that day (6 or 7 of them) was the worse one, I usually tip real well (Ill tip 5$ for a 3$ drink if youre that good of a bartender who makes it an enjoyable experience) she got 1$! I gave it two stars because of the size of the bar, outside bar and the lighting and scenery was nice, but no reason to go back.

i really liked this place being one to not go downtown very often. it was very well deorated and the specials were great. the blonde bartender that was there was awesome! she was very informative and personable. it was me and my boyfriend that was there, we were there to watch the superbowl, the same girl kept tabs on us for a long time and did a great job while the other bartenders came in slowly and were not much help seems like all they wanted to do was text on their phone, eat food, and hypnotize the young guy croud. well little do they know that im a 22yr old female and my boyfriend is a little older and im a server and he is a bartender so we easily tip 30%. once our happy hour bartender who was great left, the other two girl barely paid any attention to us, i litereally had to wave my hand in the air for fifteen mintues (at the bar) to get my tab and when i finally got it, the grl took the money said nothing and threw the money back at us like we were nothing. im sorry that i just spent the last 5 hours in your bar. sorrry,im a server and i was irate i never treat any customer that way. they are lucky i left them 20% since the girl that took care of me left. i was mad all the way home. they didnt deserve any of my money because i know what its like to work for a real tip. thanks.

My husband and I have been going to this club for years and never had any problem until this last time we went. They are usually very strict about their dress code (especially shoes), which my husband is willing to abide by. Anyways, we went to Mynt on July 1st to dance. The bouncer (MATT) and his sidekick (FRANK) informed my husband that he was not allowed in because of his shoes. He informed the bouncers (MATT & FRANK) that he had another pair that matched the dress code in the trunk of our car. MATT then informed my husband that even if he changed shoes that he would not be allowed in because "he didnt have to". This made me upset because as soon as he said that I knew the reason why we were not being allowed in. After getting upset I started to cry because I found this to be unacceptable. The bouncers (MATT & FRANK) then proceed to LAUGH at me because I was upset. The reason why they did not let us in is because my husband is black and I am white. They did not like seeing a white woman with a black man. If you are fine with racist people then by all means enjoy this club when they actually have a good night. But I would strongly advise to not even bother going here because it is completely unacceptable to treat people the way my husband and I were.

Charles Review
After a handful of visits to this restaurant/dance club/bar, (they cant make up their mind,) I have to say this is by far the WORST place to go in Downtown Charleston. I have lived here my whole life, and Mynt is an eye-roll to Charleston locals. Mention this place and youre sure to get a "good luck with that." or a hearty chuckle. Most recently this bar has taken a turn for the worst with cheesey costume theme parties, and scantily clad servers. It is drawing a similar crowd to the Market Street Saloon on North Market Street. Lots of college kids, poor service. You are more likely to get a picture with a staff member then an actual drink. Sucks because it could be a cool spot.

Mynt is an establishment that most certainly is in need of new management. Mynt broadcasted a special for Sunday 1/22/2017 which offered 10 dollar all you can eat lowcountry boil, numerous drink specials, and beer olympics. We drove in the rain to the bar found a spot to park and walked in the rain to get there. When we arrived at 3 pm (when the fun was supposed to start) the place was abandoned. There was no communication to potential customers that the establishment would be closed. Instead of all your can eat and good drink specials we left soaking wet, with empty stomachs, and no buzz. "Fun starts at 3" my ass.

If I could give this place no stars I would. My group went out after a wedding and the bouncer wouldnt let the groom in "because of his shoes". He was wearing sneakers just like everyone else inside the place. We tried to reason with the manager but he was inconsiderate and rude, he even shoved my friend (a girl) and told us to leave. The bouncer then proceeded to let someone else in wearing flip flops. Apparently this place can do whatever they want because they are a "private club." If you like racist bouncers, weak drinks, and unintegral management then this is your place.

We decided to try this spot out late Saturday night a few weeks ago. We arrived a little after midnight. Stood in like for a few minutes before getting inside. We could hear the music and see the crowd inside while waiting. The music kept them moving. The crowd was a mix from early 20s to 30s. Music was hip hop, rap, r&b and pop. I really liked the space. The inside had a large bar with a few small spaces with a couch that they said was VIP. The outdoor space had a bar and tables. We had a great time. The music was pretty good and the crowd was cool.
