This place is a second run theater, meaning they screen films that have already released on home media, or are about to release on home media. This allows them to skip paying a fee to the studios and merely pay a public exhibition fee. What does that mean? It means that movies here are really, really cheap. Around $2.50. Concessions are also very inexpensive. A popcorn and drink combo, I beleive is $6. I could be wrong, but I know its about a third the cost of a traditional theater. Also, free drink and popcorn refills! The place is fairly clean, but you can definitely tell the theater hasnt been updated to modern high-end Theater standards. How dirty it is depends on when you go amd how many people are staffed. This is not a Regal or AMC or Penn Cinema. The seats and everything about this place actually, are straight out of the 90s. In fact, my parents used to take me here when it was a new release theater in the 90s. They definitely made a couple updates and remodeled just a bit, but I can say for sure that this strictly a bare-bones affair. Leg room was average to very good depending on location and theater. The seats arent luxurious, but they are comfortable enough (by that I mean that they technically are seats. These are basically plastic bucket seats upholstered in thin foam and thin red fabric). The theaters are usually clean, but look a bit old and drab. The hallways are lined with current and old movie posters, which is fun. There are too many screens, either. And there are three different sizes for the theaters, the three sizes having screens and speakers of different sizes as well. Projection quality is okay. Its definitely a 1080p image, but some of the screens have seen better days, as have some of the projectors which may have a dead pixel or two. It also uses much older projectors that arent as bright and dont really support 3d that well. They dont show many movies in 3d, and if they have one playing, I would pass on it. The 3d here is 50% as bright because if the outdated projector. Screen size is below average. This was a small theater from the 90s, so picture that and you got it. The staff is friendly, but often, much like the theater, bare bones. The last three times I went, there were two employees in the whole building. One running tickets and concessions, and the other cleaning up theaters, sarting/ending showings, and helping at the concessions. Definitely a hardworking crew, though! This isnt a theater to go to because you want to be surrounded by the most luxurious experience. Look elsewhere for that. The best thing to compare this to would be a wooden roller coaster. Its about the experience and the value. If youre looking to take the kids somewhere for the day, you can spend all day here for less than $30. Its also a great place for a date. Not a first date, though. A date with someone you know well. The atmosphere and value are the bottom line of this place, and I recommend you at least try this place at least once. Bring a friend.

This theater is nice if you want to go see a cheap movie with your family but seriously? You have to be 17 to get into a movie that is R rated without someone over 21? This rule is completely ridiculous. I understand that if there are young young kids trying to get into R rated gory scary movies. But I am 16 years old and have gotten turned away tons of times because I could not go see a movie that was R rated. I believe and probably so many other people do too that there should be an age, like 13, that you should be able to decide if you are mature enough to see any movie. I know I have been watching movies that were pg-13 or even R rated since I was what, 10? And also its nice the the tickets are cheap, but seriously the food price should be cheaper because the quality of the theater. (I also understand that this is not a required law it is just something theaters do.) But they need to wake up, its 2015. 10 year olds have Iphones and wear crop tops nowadays

this is the best deal for a cheap night out, YEs! its small. but id like to think of it as being clasic and i think family owned, there are lots of places to eat with in the plaza, park and walk the strip till your movie starts. >*DO NOT BUY THE 3D SHOW!*< the movies here at Kendig are mostly out of focus slightly because of the size of the theater room(s) which is not that bad for standard movies, but the 3D blur mixed with the focus issue makes your head want to explode and your eyes wish they could bleed the pain out. but its your call. they do give refunds, so try it out and see for your self {wink} i tried 3 different movie and keep in mind i have 20/20 vision (so i dont wear glass normally) all with the same result. REFUND ME PLEASE! :) well got to go on my way to the 7:00pm show! hey maybe ill see you there,.. and on that note its also a Great place for a teenager date night. "heres $20buck kids have a good time"

Ive gone to the movies with my boyfriend countless times at several different theaters including Franks, Regal, and Fun Time Cinemas. We both agree that Fun Time Cinemas is seriously the best experience of them all. For the cost of getting one ticket elsewhere, we get tickets, drinks, and some popcorn at Fun Time. The actual theater is great quality, right there with the others. If theres a movie coming out that weve been looking forward to for months, well go see it as soon as it comes out at Regal or Franks. If were looking for a fun way to spend a day, or a way to watch those movies again on the big screen, this is the place to go! Also, to the one reviewer before me... Every movie theater has to follow the protocol for R rated movies.

Does this theatre make Hancock a bearable movie to watch outside of a Saturday afternoon on TNT? No. But the tickets are really cheap and the popcorn and Chery Coke is good. Sure the 3D in Clash of the Titans looks like the kind of 3D on the silver magnetic dinosaur puzzle that was on my fridge in 8th grade, but why are you going to watch Clash of the Titans anyway? Just watch it on TNT during the memorial day movie marathon. Honestly if you want to enjoy a good story on a big screen with big sound along with other strangers in the dark then go here. Its cheap, but for all the right reasons.

Even though Kendig is a small movie theater with old seats and equipment, its still a bargain to see a movie in the big screen with the cheap ticketing price of $2.50 (with the exemption of $4.50 after 6pm) and concession prices $4.25 for the large drink, considering prices in todays day in age for the "upscale, modern" movie theaters. Whats also special about Kendig is that they play movies that played out its run at the other movie theaters in the area. Its a great place for when you want to have a cheap night out and has the same effect as going to a regular movie theater.
