I will tell you that he is incorrect about the projectors at this location. I am a contractor for Carmike Cinemas and I can tell you that those are the current DLP projectors by Christie that pretty much all the Carmike theaters have. I also installed digital menu boards there last year to make it even more modern. I will also go on record saying that the two gentlemen that run that establishment care more about their customers and their theater than any other Carmike I do work for. They really try to go the extra mile the whole way around there. I recommend this theatre if you are in the area.

I have been taking my kids here for over 20 years.....Favorite thing for us to do on the weekends. Never too crowded, and the people are so friendly. Best popcorn ever......but I do miss the big shakers of seasonings that they used to have set up for us....now we have to pay for it!! But all in all, they are making fond memories for my family to look back on.....and now that I have three grand daughters......our journey continues. Thanks for the memories. Your matinee prices are a big help to me!!

I truly miss this place. I know my review doesnt mean much anymore, but this theatre was always beautiful. Even though the heat didnt work sometimes or the air conditioning was left off, it was a large part of my childhood. The manager was so sweet and the mural on the wall was amazing. Ill never forget <3 Theres a security guard sitting up there now so no one can break in. The building doesnt even resemble a Cinema anymore, but you can still see the mural from the outside.

I thought this placed had closed YEARS ago. Just recently realized it had not and decided to take my 7 year old to see Civil War. I used to come here when I was young and was pleased to see the original theater seating like I remember. It was nice for my son to see a movie like I remember seeing them. The staff was very friendly and courteous and the like the other reviews said the popcorn was delicious. I think we have found our new go to place for all future movies.

Ive been going to this movie theater since I was kid, and while it may not be able to match some of the larger chains in fanciness or aesthetically pleasing decor; it more than surpasses the rest of the field with the friendly staff and theater layout. Case in point is the Loews Waterfront, while very nice its just too damn big. Im not going to the fricking Super Bowl, Im going to a movie. Thank you Southland 9 for 3 decades of fond memories!

Ive been seeing movies at this theater for as long as I can remember. The first movie I ever saw here was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest when I was 5. Now Im 16, and the last movie I saw here was Petes Dragon. It may not be the best theater ever, but its been a part of my life for 11 years, and to see it close broke my heart. Thanks for the memories, and all the years of entertainment.

I enjoy this theater very much. It is kept clean and the staff is polite and friendly. I work with adults with special needs and they enjoy coming to the movies, and socializing with the staff, and eating the popcorn. You can get good deals and rewards and a great movie experience. They always have the new releases.

Food prices are the same as other places. The place is outdated and no stadium seating. So be prepared to fight to see the screen like you did in the 80s (If you ever see more than three people here). Clean but the place looks like the decorations were bought at family dollar. Sad this is the closest movie theater.

I prefer this theater over the newer, bigger theaters. Its never crowded there. Management is very friendly and hospitable. Though the theater is old, it is still kept clean. I also like the pictures of the old celebrities painted on the wall where you walk in.

The theater is outdated but it is a hidden treasure. The staff is always pleasant and personable. They decorate for every holiday. And the popcorn is the best ever! It is private. Never crowded. And has all the latest movies. And plenty of close parking too.

My husband, his family, and I will miss this movie theater so much. The staff are nice and down to earth, the owners offered bargain matinees and a clean, safe, family oriented environment with charming displays.

We love this little place, yes it needs a little tender care but it suites our needs. Best popcorn in town and the nicest people to assist you. Lots of great prices, for everyone especially seniors!!!!!

The theater itself is run down and outdated, but the staff is always fantastically friendly. I still consider it a hidden gem and catching a matinee here is still one of my favorite pass times.

Its so outdated and in the cut but otherwise I love seeing movies here. I dont know why, because some theaters smell like butt, but its a cool hangout to go with the friends.

This is a very good place. Seats, food and people are great. No parking problems and easy to get to. Good restaurants close by, so its great for dinner and a movie.

Start time said 4:30. Arrived at 4:15 and bought tickets without being told it had started. We caught 30 minutes of movie. I will NEVER go back to this place

Besides being a bit hidden, this is a charming theater with friendly staff. No stadium seats and the projectors are a little on the dated side. Check it out.

This place is a dump, and foreigners run the place now, complete crap hole you might as well just go down da waterfront save yourself the aggravation
