There is plenty of parking, but the lots are scattered around the site. The visitors center is wonderful, with a small museum as well as a ticket seller for the guided bus tour. The battlefield is huge. I recommend starting as soon as the park opens and packing a lunch if you decide to walk the field. Driving is a good afternoon at least, depending on how many times you park and exit the vehicle. The amount of monuments in this battle field is incredible. I recommend making sure to leave time in your visit to see the cemetery. Do not expect to do this entire park in one day. There is too much to see. I recommend at least a week if you plan to see everything and enjoy the town.

Went to the visitor center to get info on the driving tour. The gentleman at the door was very nice, and he directed us to the information center. We were greeted (at the information counter) with sarcasm and disdain. I wanted to say, "Forgive me for asking for information on the driving tour" as the answer to our question was "get in your car, drive, and follow the signs." (In a very condescending manner) I was nearly in tears to think we drove 7 hours to be treated so badly. I hope others arent greeted by he same jerk (at the visitor counter) that we were because I was very upset and very disappointed.

I went here for a school trip and was in awe. I saw the video that they played inside the theater, and the quality and seating was amazing! Its a great intro to the museum and tour. The cyclorama was amazing and beautiful and extremely lifelike. The museum is very high quality and the information is detailed and interesting. The gift shop is full of a variety of collectibles and books. The tour guide was extremely kind and funny. He certainly knew what he was talking about. I learned lots of new information! I will definitely visit again with my family.

As far as National Park Sites go, this one was very commercialized. Everything costs money and the gift shop was really expensive. Ranger programs were free and great. Outside the gift shop there is a couple of displays that were free. I noticed their donations box was nearly empty, probably because they already emptied everyones wallets. I mean they charge a ticket price to even see a single oil painting! If you are thrifty stop in to get a map and then explore the Nation Park, which is free. Also junior ranger program was free.

This is a fantastic museum and National Park run by NPS. The history here is over whelming. As one who frequents National Parks, this one is definitely in the top five for historic parks. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The building is well kept and the bathrooms maintained. Food is available in the cafe and often times there are people dressed in Civil War era clothing who are will to pose for pictures and answer questions. Parking can be tough but its worth the walk.

Absolutely amazing museum. A must see for every American. They have created a truly memorable experience and the exhibits walk you through the state of the nation, the war itself, and of course the Battle of Gettysburg. I highly recommend buying the guided auto tour CD in the gift shop and set aside 2 hours for it.

Would be 5 stars except there are a ton of very loud, interactive exhibits. I get headaches easily and.coudnt watch many of the films because of how loud they were. If this wont be a problem for.you, then its a very educational experience and I would recommend it.

Gettysburg is a must when it comes to American history. We drove the 24 miles along the auto route and saw the many historic places, heard and read the frightening stories of the war and the Gettysburg Battle and saw the hundreds of monuments along the route.

Great place to visit for orientation top battlefield. Unfortunately only four stars because seeing the cyclorama and movie are very expensive...nearly $80 for a family of four. NPS is a bit too cash hungry.
