I love this venue! It is small and gives you a more intimate experience.I have seen 2 concerts here in the past six months. A few things to note are that some concerts here may be standing room only or may have seats. I have been to both types. If you are buying tickets to an event here, you might want to double check which is available for that particular event. Obviously seats are better so that you can sit down if you need to. Standing room only is a little different and you will really be standing the whole time. We stood for 4 hours and it was pretty uncomfortable at times but it depends on your level of comfort I guess. There are a few isles that have a bar or railing in front of you that you can hang on to or lean on .If you are lucky enough to be in the row with the bar then you will be a little more comfortable. Also, if you are have a handicap and need seating you should contact the office directly and talk with management to make sure they will be able to accommodate you. We were with friends that needed seating (during a standing room only concert) and we had some trouble communicating with employees his need for seating. In the end it all worked out and my friend was offered a seat , you just might want to call ahead. All and all a nice place for the downtown OKC area.

Upon arrival for the Randy Rogers concert I was quite impressed with the Criterion. Small venue, reasonably priced drinks. However once the night went on it was obvious that we would be dealing with the same low class individuals that ruin all other concerts by not being able to act like responsible adults who consume alcohol. I would suggest security in the crowd. We show up early to get a decent area for standing room only. 2 hours later we have a drunk female pushing her way to the font causing a ruckus. So basically youre forced to deal with it or in our case walk out. I had a feeling things were about to get physical. Headliner was still on the first song and we left. Unpleasant experience and a waste of 100+ dollars. Ours was not the only altercation of the night either. Not totally the Criterions fault but seeing as how its a good possibility of reoccurring with lack of security up front, we will not be returning.

Saw Volbeat on Saturday night. I would have given 5 stars if not for the super macho security officer that screamed at a teenaged girl for leaving her phone in her pocket while he was running his handy dandy metal detecting wand over her. The extra 3 seconds it took her to remove it must have really ruined his evening. Im talking BELLOWED at this young lady. Considering hes at least 66 looking to be about 25-30 yrs old, of course she burst into tears. No apology. It was awful to see some young ladys first concert ruined by a grown man with no home training. The band was great, the bartenders were efficient and friendly, and the bathrooms are clean with no wait. Just stay away from the tall black haired security guard. Hes a freakin loose cannon. He obviously hates his job.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. BOYCOTT THIS REDUCULOIS SO CALLED VENUE!!!! Cancelling a show is one thing. Not posting a sign on front door or making some reasonable attempt to notify besides a single Facebook post is completely u acceptable. There should have been someone at the box office issuing refunds and explaining the situation. I know this tour has had other problems so Im not holding you guys souls responsible for ruining my night. However yall could have handled it way better. What was even worse is the staff! I went up there to get my refund didnt get 100% of what I paid back. Service fees he said. FOR WHAT EXACTLY?? I went to get my refund. Had to wait 35 minutes for the idiot to show up. Then he slammed the window in my face!

I just went to the Rick Springfield concert and had a great time! He is so good with an audience and my daughter and daughter-in-law really enjoyed it too. My only complaint is the open bar at the back of the auditorium. It is way too noisy and I just think if people dont want to listen and just sit at a bar, there are plenty of those in Bricktown and let the rest of us enjoy the concert! In the future, you really need to consider closing off the bar from the auditorium. I might think twice about coming there again because of the distraction.

Went to a concert last night. The mic had a delayand the noise from under the balcony echoes out into the area in front of the stage. I think the floors being clean and walls painted makes everyone happy but for a concert its one of the worst venues. it was 75 degrees outside but 95 inside near the stage. If you backed off toward the back it was better but still not great. I believe OKC is still in need of a great concert venue. Buy the bands albums instead of waisting your money to go see them at this venue.

Top music venue in OKC. On tour with a nationally acclaimed artist & these were the friendliest most efficient people Ive worked with in almost ALL the venues Ive worked. I appreciate everything theyre doing. Scott the manager, great guy made the split easy & straightforward. Alexa, one of the young Criterion workers great future ahead of her. Only con was the sound wasnt the best, needs an upgrade but other than that A-1.

I know all things are built by the lowest bidder, but here it is painfully obvious from the grey colored everything to the blatantly cheap AF chandelier. The concert was great, crowd was eletric, sound was okay. If youre a person who enjoys shopping at Target or drinking your coffee from Starbucks this basic venue is for you. I give this place an overall rating of: Meh

I went to a show last night. The venue is amazing for the access to the bars and to SEE the show.... but the sound is horrible. The balcony is full of echos and the standing area under the balcony is nothing but crowd noise. Im hoping this is acknowleged and corrected soon because it has the potential to be an amazing venue. But being able to HEAR them is key...

Ive attended two events at The Criterion, the Dave Chappelle show and the Schoolboy Q concert. Both were amazing experiences and were nights filled with great memories. The atmosphere that The Criterion has is unmatched in OKC. Im glad that we finally have a venue that is able to bring the entertainers that we dont usually get the pleasure to see.

Here again unfortunately, is yet another venue that could be fun, but apparently there are no sound engineers available to run the boards, ..so just turn everything up, in a large open metallic space... thatll be good. Guys ya cant tell a bass from a treble, or reverb from depth. What a waste of time for the crowd and the poor musicians.

Went to see Alice Cooper with my wife the other night. No one notified us that they canceled our seats and that we needed new tickets. Extremely rude security guard treated us like felons for standing in our spot that we paid for. Handled very poorly. Had to get new tickets and ended up with the worst tickets in the whole venue.
