Save yourself the aggravation. Ignore those Metro Park ads on TV talking about "pace of play" and great course conditions. That may apply to Sleepy Hollow, but the MetroParks manager running that ad clearly hasnt played Seneca. Stop advertising, and pay a crew to mow the rough! Long holes with narrow fairways, and small greens. That could be fine, and challenging. Unfortunately, there is long thick rough with waist high grass and weeds everywhere, in play on almost every hole. Any other public course, you have a tougher shot for a missed fairway or green Here, you probably waste 5 minutes hunting for the ball, and finding at best an unplayable lay, or more usually taking a stroke for a lost ball Every hole, someone looking ( and not finding) a ball we all watched land or roll into weeds. Watched the group in front of us do the same, hole after hole. The "New" redone 9 has all the weed problems, plus the tees are rock hard like concrete, youll need a drill to tee up your ball. Broke a tee on almost every hole just trying to get it in the ground. 3 hours for 9 holes of not fun golf, mostly because of the out of control rough. It wouldnt take much to address this, but Ive seen no ndication the MetroParks has any ireal nterest in making this a decent course anytime soon. Start putting some minimal work into the course now, or youll be financially underwater soon.

I play in a league at Seneca and would not recommend playing this course to friends. If they address the issues it would be a beautiful course. The rough is ridiculous. Balls hit on the fairway or green then they are lost. When told about the issues its like they are hearing this for the first time. 3 hour 9s for golfers with single digit handicaps because you are always looking for balls. The long grass needs cut. I played Sleepy Hollow yesterday and played 18 in 4 hours with 2 good golfers and 2 average golfers. There was none of that long grass nonsense right off the fairways and greens. Unless this grass is cut and the prison Ivy is dealt with I will not play this course again. The management has been apprised and now lets see if they cut the grass that makes the course laborious and not at al fun.

For years this has been my "home course" but after today I will never play there again. Course is down to 27 holes and busy so they send us off on back 9. Two holes in a ranger tells us to let a group playing 18 play thru. My group lets them pass at the tee box. Then while in the middle of the fairway on the same hole a 2nd group tees off over our heads while we are not even looking and almost hits me! We complain to the ranger and he just says they were playing thru. Unbelievable this course is such a joke.

The course has done a great job with the upgrades, however they have a long way to go to make this course enjoyable to play. If you barely miss a fairway here, you could lose your ball even though it is just off the fairway. The rough off the fairway is so thick, if you do find your ball, you really have no shot as the rough swallows the club preventing even decent contact. If they could mow the rough to realistic lengths it would speed the pace of play and make it for a much more enjoyable round.

Unmowed rough. When the Metroparks took this course over they decided to save money by not mowing the grass in the trees between holes. This course has very nice mature thinned out trees making the woods/trees playable in the past. Now often in the trees and even past the greens is a lost ball. This unmowed grass is knee to waist high grass. Unfortunately I will never return to this course because if this.

the managers have done nothing with my numerous complaints about not having speedy customer service. they also have done nothing about having my golfer bonus points combined because I was entered twice in the system by their cashiers. you can drive just a mile down the road and get a much cheaper rate for a much better course. who cares if they have 36 holes!! quality not quantity.

Played the new 9 today! Think its called A 9? Anyway great layout strategically placed sand traps that are NICE. Pot bunkers by some greens too. Cant wait to go back and play it again. Nice job Metro Parks. The Rough however is ROUGH. Needs time to mature. Dont go in it lol. If you can find your ball it lays down and it will grab your club. Hit an iron to get out of it.

Good course in absolutely awful shape. Punished for hitting in the fairway. Bunkers are hard and like hitting out of the fairway there. Horrible value for the price. Stay away. It seems like the focus there is on the new holes being made and zero to the "A" course. We busted tees trying to push them into the dirt.

The new course is beautiful, some of the grass still needs to grow in to be perfect. The older Nunes are nice, much better since the metro parks took over. Overall, this is a long course, up and down, wide fairways. If you go outside of the rough, good luck, the grass is knee high. No joke.

Part of metro parks so bonus rounds work here. Has 36 holes which is the major redeeming part of this course. The remodeled front of A is the other reason I play there. The new mounding and bunkering makes the front of A look almost like a resort course.

New (completely redone from the ground up) nine - Front of A Course -- is worth a try. The other 27 holes need to receive the same makeover.
