Nothing can compare to the beauty and tranquility of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. As a person blessed to live within 15 minutes of this incredible park, my family and I have spent countless hours within its borders. This area stretches from South Nags Head down to Hatteras Island, and has numerous access points where one can find pristine white-sand beaches bordered by waving sea grasses. We are accustomed to seeing many types of local wildlife whenever we visit, including waterfowl, seabirds, crabs, dolphins, and on a good day, even whales. The beaches abound with beautiful seashells, and it is always possible to find a quiet place where you have the world-famous Carolina Beach all to yourself, a rarity during the summer months on the Outer Banks. This gem is certainly worth exploring.

Its a beautiful place but since it was in February the lighthouse was not open yet. It will reopen in April.
