I almost didnt go to HOWL for my 48th birthday because of all the mixed reviews, but I sure am glad that I did. I am an old chick who doesnt go out too much and wanted to do something memorable for my birthday. This place was perfect! We got there extremely early (7:30 pm) in hopes of getting a table for 6, which was no problem at all. We had our choice of tables and snagged a great one. The music started at about 8:30 and we knew pretty much every song. The entertainers kept the show going and played an awesome assortment of songs. If you are expecting polished, professional musicians then you might be disappointed. They are there to entertain and keep the crowd happy which they do very well. Our waitress was attentive and kept our drinks full. We ordered food from Librettos and brought it up to HOWL, who was happy to provide plates, napkins and utensils for us. It does get crowded later into the night but we were well tucked away from the crowd with a great view of the stage. We stayed until 11:30 but I would have been happy to close the place down since I was having so much fun. Everyone in our group (including the 22 year olds) agreed it was a fun evening and would definitely go back. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the bouncer. He was a complete jerk to four older people and two young ones. There was no reason for that, especially at 7:30 pm, with no line and all of us stone sober.

As a long time fan of the HATM franchise I was super excited to see one pop up in the local Charlotte area. There was some local competition from another dueling piano bar in town at the time, which has since shut down! There is no chance of shutting down this establishment, it has become a stable to the downtown scene. They keep it fun, they keep it light, and they keep it rocking. The staff is always smiling and the drinks are always flowing from bartenders that know how to keep up with the pace. The entertainers keep the music current and the door staff are friendly and inviting. All that equates to a place I always recomend my friends check out when they are passing through or new to town.

Absolutely an amazing night! It was a wed night so there werent too many people but a lot of fun people. And the musicians were fantastic! Multi talented, but my favorite by far was Jen! Shes got one of the best voices ive heard in a long time! she really needs an agent! I dont know what the place is like when its busy, and if when its busy isnt your thing... go on a weekday until like 10ish and itll be perfect for you! Dont not go because of these two bad reviews below! I bet the one works at Whiskey River ...

I rate this venue at five stars. Not so much for the drinks, but the music. The combination of two pianos and an experienced drummer really sets the mood for this uptown piano bar. Play requests are taken and donations are accepted. In the restroom, there is a very helpful person that assists you by giving you a squirt of soap and a couple paper dry towels. The environment is very relaxed and fun. The drinks are not overly priced and seem about average. If you prefer, there is also an outdoor patio.

I went during CIAA so im not sure how much of a difference that made from the "normal" style of the club but I enjoyed it very much . a club is a club same things in most of them . But in my opinion what sets them apart is cleanliness and the Bartenders and the Bartenders here were Awesome!! Polite ,fast,friendly and attentive! Atmosphere was amazing. Drinks were decent strength wasnt heavy or watered down was Fair amounts .

I witnessed the rawest version of "Pony" last night that I have ever (or will ever) see. It was hilarious and amazing. Ive been to dueling piano bars but the group here is way more than that. A rotating troop of musicians who can play not just the piano but the drums and even the bass. I am forever ruined for any other dueling piano bars. A must see if youre in Charlotte!

We waited a long time in line last time night on New Years. We got to the door to get in and the bouncer was so rude. He told us that this other guy was going to get us in, around the back, then he proceeded to tell us we had to give him a $100.00. We told him no and got back in line and then he said we couldnt go in. We just left and we will never go back here again!

Never ever again. Worst management Ive delt with in the south. We paid almost 300 dollars to reserve table months ago, and we get sat behind pillars, with no view of stage. General admission had better. When we asked manager, he said he will run bar the way he wants. Are you kidding? I will never return! Rude waitress, worse management.

This is one of the best crowds downtown dont have to worry about anything here everyone is friendly. I think its probably because of that guy at the door, he was awesome. I have been to many places where the door guys are arrogant he was very cordial and helpful about how to spend our weekend. Thanks for the advice Ron we will see you again!

Howl is one of my favorite go-to spots for a fun night out, especially when I have friends visiting from out of town. The musicians are excellent and the atmosphere is always a blast. Howl at the Moon really makes Charlottes Epicentre a unique and iconic hotspot for the city. Much like The Dudes rug, it really ties the city together, man.

It was a Tuesday night, not to busy but I like that better bc we got to hear all the music we requested. The paino men were amazing but I especially loved the pregnant lady. She had her rap game on. Wait staff was great. Bathrooms were clean. All round I gave a 5 bc it was a great night..

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Amazing place to just chill. If you enjoy watching white drink people dance this is the place. If you enjoy AMAZING musicians and appreciate music THIS IS THE PLACE! Great servers and bartenders too! Oh and the bouncer dude that lets you in is super hott ;)

Great Time! Entertainment that involves a spectrum of different ages. (So if your in your 20s or 60s you like it) Our server was friendly and interactive...while very busy. High$$$ but not an every day event. Nice place to take visiting friends and family for a fun time!!!!

I fell in love with this place about two years ago, and it has been my Go To spot in Uptown ever since. The staff and band are incredible people and great at what they do. Check it out if you havent already. If youre a skeptic, yknow, stop being one.

Dueling piano bar. Entertainers are great. Drinks are a little pricey here, but the atmosphere is great and I used to be a regular here when I lived closer. Great time. One of the only places in the Epicenter that isnt a club.
