I had the most horrible experience here tonight, i was here with a group of about 15 people and was buying good drinks and tipping well but my husband got a drink with a lime that was half brown. My husbands drink was ruined by the rotten lime and i asked Taylor the bartender if she could help because the drink was awful. The second i mentioned it to her she said i was wrong and there was nothing she could do i tried to explain to her that the lime was rotten and can ruin a drink but she was not going to have that. Instead of arguing with her even after her awful attitude and absolutely horrible service i ordered and paid for 2 more shots and another drink to replace the one that was awful. I went back to my table and shortly afterward the bouncer Jacob came to the table i was sitting at and asked everyone i was sitting with to leave the bar as soon as our drinks were finished. I was more than shocked! I could not believe what was happening! I have also been a server and a customer service manager and i also have never taken the time to write a review but this was the most awful horrible service i have ever gotten. It didnt even end there, my husband made a small remark about the bad service and the bouncer grabbed him up as if he had done something wrong and physically threw him out of the bar for absolutely no reason. I think these people need to be replaced quickly. They threw everyone i was with out of the bar for no reason other than the fact that i had told them that i had a rotten lime in our drink. I still cant believe it. I will never go there again and the bartender Taylor and bouncer Jacob should never work in customer service again. OMG they almost let some of thier regular customers fight us in the street over this. Please please remember I am not lying and wouldnt even take the time out of my day to write this but it was truly that horrible! Do not visit this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For how busy they were everyone was really nice! CONNOR WAS AMAZING he took such great care of our bachelorette party. He made sure the bride had everything she needed. When we were waiting in line to pay there was still about 5 people in front of us and he pulled us out let us pay separately so we didnt have to wait. Also, one of our party members left their debit card and he ran out to find us and give it back. Connor was the bomb. Also, more importantly the food was amazing. It was so filling and pretty cheap! The Mac n cheese was perfect and like $5. The avocado bacon sand which was amazing and the tator tots were so good! The Caesar wrap was to die for and had freaking croutons in it! The little sliders were so adorable and perfect and of course the Polynesian chicken sandwich was perfect! The black bean taco was also super amazing and everyone loved the lavender lemonades! Very cool place, good atmosphere, was reccommended by Atley on the pub cycle! Would definitely suggesting hitting up the vault if youre in the area.

I have been coming to the Vault for years and I love the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately tonight when I ordered the burger (the only thigh I can order now due to deliciousness) I was not pleased with the service. The server, who I later discovered is named Morgan (in case the manager is on their A game and reads this), was very rude and short with me for no reason. Later in the night I talked to one of my friends about the situation and suprisingly she described the same sever to a T and described her story of another evening when she went to the vault and had a very similar experience. This is the first review I have ever written. I am not typically the type to make a fuss about the way people do their jobs but I love this restaurant/bar and I feel that the management should be aware of who they hire and the quality of their service. On another note, go there and eat the burger! Its SOOOO GOOD!!

Im just gonna say.. BEST burger Ive had in my life! Best burger as in just your regular burger no crazy crap on it like fries or chicken. The double vault burger is huge but really not worth it (22 bucks), unless your competing with the homies. I would go back every day for a regular vault burger. Other then that the rest is a bar thats pretty packed at night. FYI- You seat yourself and place your order at the bar - Also they dont have coke or pepsi products (You better like RC Cola) VHD

Showed up 15 minutes before the kitchen closed but they rudely and without any normal Asheville love, was told they closed the kitchen already while it was still busy. Bartender, tall guy with long hair was rude with no personality. Wont go back with all the other options in Asheville. Theres hipster, then there are wanna be hipsters that just think they are. They may have the look down, but missed the cool hipster attitude. Too many other options to go back.

Horrible experience I will never return. I walked in and no one said anything to us at all . So we sat down and waited for 5 mins while people just stared at us. Meanwhile after 5 mins another couple walked in and was greeted immediately and had service within 30 secs. it was made clear to me that this place isnt African American friendly. I will never recommend anyone recieve the treatment that we received. 0 stars

Second time I have been there in a week. Bartenders are slow and extremely rude when business was steady but not busy. One bartender stood nearby waiting for me to tell her what I wanted but never acknowledged me. I have waited tables in the past and I have never written a review before. I have only been treated this way at a fast food restaurant. Two weeks in a row...

At least that is what I thought when I read about this drink in the Mountain X the other day, but I went and tried it, and I must say it is pretty damn good. It was my first time at the rankin vault, but I will totally go back. The eggnog martini was good and the bartender was cute... I just wish they would let me smoke a cigar in the vault!

Food is fantastic, drinks are fine, good prices on huge beers. some of the surliest bartenders in asheville (which is saying a lot). Still worth it for food late at night, but the overall vibe can sometimes be pretty unwelcoming to the unitiated/sober/anyone over 23 or without the requisite number of forearm and neck tats (14?).

Good drinks, good service, great atmosphere. Prices are good on drinks and okay for food. The food is very delicious but portions are small. Love being able to go into the renovated vault that is now hosts a decked out living room feel. Great room for private parties on special occassions.

Typical loungey type spot with bad beer and people sipping cocktails on velvet sofas. Seems like a lot of local folks hang out here. The burger was the one of the best Ive ever had the first time I had it last year but I was disappointed with it when I had it last in October.
