I am extremely disappointed in my experience with LaZoom tours. They canceled the tour for which I purchased tickets three weeks in advance two hours before it was to begin. The tour was part of the early Christmas gift I gave to my parents as part of a stay in Asheville. They aren’t big adventurers, so I planned every bit of their trip, including the 2pm LaZoom tour so they could see the city without having to walk and drive around unfamiliar territory. It was going to be perfect, and I was expecting them to enjoy it a lot. Then the rug was yanked from under those plans with virtually no notice. The reason given was that there were not enough people signed up for the tour, and that it diminished the experience too much for the tour to go on. I cannot imagine that it would have diminished our experience more than outright cancelling the 2pm tour at 12pm, and leaving a big hole in our plans. LaZoom was kindly and sympathetic during our call. They offered to reschedule (which did not work in our situation). They refunded my payment in full. They suggested another tour company that might be able to help. They offered me two free tickets in the future. Unfortunately, the only thing that would have been satisfactory was sending my parents on the tour that I told them about, that I purchased tickets for three weeks in advance. LaZoom, I hope you’ll reconsider your policy about canceling tours and weigh the importance of a diminished experience vs. no experience for your guests. At least publish the minimum number of riders requirement and the risk of low census cancellation in your materials and as part of your online ticket sales.

If I could give no stars, I would. TERRIBLE experience. The tour guide, Augusta Wind, was rude to my group from the moment she got on the bus based on a preconceived notion that a bachelorette party would be disruptive and rude. This was actually one of the first things she said over the microphone. We were neither, yet continued to be called so (outloud, over the loud speaker on the bus; this second time was in response to having asked her a question) and eventually kicked off the bus in the middle of nowhere for being "disruptive" (occasionally talking to the person in the seat next to us, saying things like "oh I like that house"). As we were exiting the bus, several other passengers stated they didnt know why she was asking us to leave and she threatened to kick them off as well. To top it all off, the driver asked us to throw away our drinks (per their company policy) to which Augusta replied "Let them take them. I hope they get arrested". Luckily we had cell phones that got good enough service for us to get an uber out to us, otherwise we would have been stranded on the side of the road, in an unfamiliar town. Aside from the experience with the guide, I still wouldnt recommend the tour. The portion that I saw was forced, slapstick comedy. The only laughs people were giving were to be polite. There are tons of better ways to spend $35 in Asheville.

Ive heard awesome things about LaZoom. A large group of us went on Friday, November 1st when I had a friend in from Tampa who hadnt visited the area in 25 years. LaZoom was the first touristy thing we did when she arrived because Id heard such great things. Maybe it just wasnt LaZooms night to shine that Friday. The purple bus was broken so we took a much smaller green street trolley [it was a tight fit]. The usual host was sick so we had a replacement ... it was like listening to a speech .... I glazed over most of what he said. While the staff wore funny Halloween costumes, the mood was incredibly somber .... no comedy and definitely not fun. We made 2 stops: one at a graveyard where we were instructed to rub the tombstones then hold hands in a circle [I kept waiting for the punchline] and the other to the River to throw flowers in for people who had passed. We brought wine and were expecting Comedy and fun. I do understand that the proceeds from that trip were a charitable donation but I wouldve rather given the money to the charity and stayed off the tour. It was excrutiating.

A quality experience is not just dictated by how you deal with a willing audience, but also how you deal with waaaaay too inebriated hecklers. I was deeply impressed with how the host patiently attempted to deescalate a group that disrupted a portion of my honeymoon I was highly anticipating. After the incident, the host moved on with the performance not wasting time with commenting on the drunken dredges, and getting back to a delightfully lighthearted yet informative tour. Lazoom is made for those who can handle being respectful while tipsy and occasionally being the butt of a joke (I was dubbed short bus, lol :D). At the close of the tour (after they kicked off those with less class than drunken teenagers), they offered my wife and I an unsolicited free trip! I highly recommend any first timers to Asheville check out Lazoom for the non-dry historical snapshot and comedy!

There is no greater comedy tour, or value for that matter, than this fine group of comedians who have embraced Ashville and the feeling obviously is mutual. As a professional event planner who plans hundreds of tours and activities for thousands of people annually, I cannot say enough about Miss AGUSTA Wind and her team. I have taken the tour three times now in the past year. Their clever improv continues to make the tour interesting. Her ability, as well as that of her team, to keep it fresh and interesting, is to be commended. The plan of touring, stopping for a break (and maybe a beer) is so smart! I always leave this tour feelings like a learned a little something more about Ashville and can deal with about anything. Now, if Agusta would just call me. I keep giving her my number!

Horrible experience. This tour bus dropped off 9 girls on the side of the road in Asheville because they were "talking too much." They told us that they didnt allow bachelorette parties AFTER they already charged our CC for almost $300 and allowed us to be on the tour bus for almost half of the tour. Tour guide "August Rose" was inappropriately straddling the men on the bus, not interacting with females. I am embarrass, appalled and felt unsafe in a town where I am supposed to be vacationing. Needless to say, thank the Lord for GPS so that we were able to find our way back to our rental home. This was not a good representation of Asheville or of "La Zoom" company.

Highly recommend! We booked this trip for our excursion day while volunteering in Asheville. Unfortunately, we missed the bus because we didnt remember where to meet and mixed up the times (silly tourists). Kelly at LaZoom got back with me and gave me the option to reschedule the tour. We had volunteer committments already and could not reschedule. Kelly gave us a refund for our tour and told us to book a tour again when we visit Asheville. She was so kind and the true definition of customer service! We will book again when coming to Asheville!! :)

We loved it! This was awesome to go and do. We had a great time and think it was the highlight of our trip to Asheville. If you play up your time, the actors will too. We had fun with Agusta Wind... you had to open up to her and say things back, but thats what made it more fun. At the end of the tour, I won the prize, a can of Cat food! You get to bring alcoholic beverages on board with you and they even stop half way through if you need to restock on your supply. If you have a chance, I would definitely go on this tour!
