Despite the rumors, this golf course was in fantastic shape. I played 18 here on Saturday and had a great time. Plus, I was pretty content with my 84. Considering that Sandy was less than a year past, this course showed little to no signs of damage. Fairways were plush and the greens were running smooth. This was my first time playing here, but it was obvious the owner (whom I met briefly) is doing an amazing job at making improvements. A course that is flat and open has its benefits for many golfers, but can be too easy and appear boring to others. One smart solution that I noticed was they created large mounds of soil covered in fescue along the edges of the holes. These mounds not only acted as a clever way to create hole separation and a more appealing terrain, but also increased the difficulty if youre shot went astray. I can also assume that these dirt mounds (some towering 15-20 feet high) would act as protection against another super storm. My advice for any golfer in Manhattan or Brooklyn is to try this course out. They are running a nice operation over there. I may be playing some late fall golf here, and Marine Park will definitely be in rotation for next season too. Enjoy & play well. P.S. - Thank you to the owner of this course who treated my friends and I to some Class A hospitality.

This park is trying to clean up. After 7 years the building that houses a center for geriatrics with 2 bathrooms and many millions of $ is complete. This new facility to me is a waste since I see no real activities going on here. They offer seniors play time on the broken concrete tennis courts that are not clean, lazy players leave balls and cans all over it. There is no night lights or anyone to watch clean up or time play. There are basketball courts which do have players as late as 1am. Cricket players, baseball teams use this park NO ONE CLEANS up their food, cups, leave behind broken chairs, etc. Where is someone to watch over this? Concerts are offered in the summer. Other events come--Lets see if those new bathrooms stay open for this. We were honored to house the piano from CityOfHope in June 2013. It has many rules which are never followed but mostly they annoy us with cops at night to stop the dogs from running. There are "supposed" areas that dogs are allowed in but no one clearly states this. Bikes come by constantly with runners on broken paths of concrete. Plenty of parking lots which are not lit well.

All the reviews on Marine Park are super old, Im talking 2005 old. I find Marine Park to be my go-to course around Brooklyn. I used to play Dyker Beach, which is a nice course, but I couldnt deal with the 5.5 or 6 hour rounds. Youd never tee off on time. It was so frustrating. Ive golfed Marine Park about 5 times in 2009, and now twice in 2010. I was always impressed. It can get a little wet on a few holes on the front 9. Sections of the fairways are in tough condition, and they have designated areas roped off to grow the grass. But other than that, the conditions are fairly good for a public NY course. Most importantly for me, they typically get you out on time, or within 15 minutes. Bring your driver, cause the course plays loooonnnng.

Marine park has the best greens in the city. The open layout allows for easy play and large spacious greens are easy targets. Ive played it four times, twice in the summer and twice in the winter and the winter sessions were by far the better experience. The reason, pace of play, the course was empty both times in the winter and absolutely packed in the summer. I know that courses will be packed in the summer in the city however it was ridiculous, by the 18th hole I would rather walk off the course then finish. Play in the early spring, fall, & winter avoid during the summer because you can travel to new jersey and get back in the city in less than six hours.

Clubhouse and facilities: very good. Staff: friendly and helpful, especially those actually out on the course. Tee boxes: level no bare spots. Fairways: great shape for the hot dry summer we are having here in Brooklyn. A few patches but generally in above average shape. Sand traps and bunkers not bad but could use some new sand. Greens: some of the best I have ever played. Fast, smooth, beautiful shape and fair. Not one blemish on any green. Everytime Ive been there (6) the pace of play has moved right along. Never a round over 4 1/2 hrs. Today it took 3:45. Price is fair for New York. Overall 8.5 out of 10.

The staff at Marine Park provides a very good muni-golf experience. The course is a links-style track with fast, well-kept greens. The three rounds Ive played there average about five hours, a bit slow but not intolerable for a public course. It is the staff that really stands out at Marine Park, from the pro shop to the 19th hole. During very hot rounds this August, marshals brought cold water to golfers throughout the round. They all really provide a friendly, helpful culture that is a pleasure to guests!

Considering the location, they have made this into a nice track. The greens are always in good condition. Some of the holes are a little boring - straight, wide with big greens - the first and second are pretty much the same. With a little money spent on cleaning up the paths, taking away the rubble on 3 and putting in some good sand, some fairway bunkers on 1 and 2, then this place could be great. Better than Dyker.

At the end of Flatbush avenue there is a public golf course called Marine Park. Its a Robert Trent Jones design. Built on top of a landfill this is a great course to learn to play or get out during the summer days. Very friendly staff. Encouraging and organized starter (Bruno) is eager to teach patrons proper etiquette. Flat and long course, great to walk! Check it out.

What can I say this place is great the greens are well maintained on the weekend they have cheap group lessons usually taught by a PGA pro. My only issue is the amount of people that come to this course getting a decent time can be a pain. On a side note the bars/food area is great I definitely recommend the bacon egg and cheese here. They staff is also super friendly.

Went to play at Marine Park last Sunday. Incredible experience. Got the deal from GolfNow for $10 with cart and went there to play with my dad. We played back tee which adds up to 7300 yardages.Really have to blast that driver. The staffs are friendly and even offer us free range ball. Definitely gonna visit again.

I am not a golfer, but I enjoyed the day here. My friend has all the equipment needed to hit the balls, and since it was a sunny day, it was fun to learn how to play (be prepared for laughs in case you are a beginner). For few bucks you get a bucket of golf balls that can last forever.
