Where to start with this course...this is probably one of the worst golf courses I have ever been to for a number of reasons...The owner Mike says he cares about the course but he really doesnt. all the equipment is from the 70s or 80s and breaks down on a daily basis. the greens mower that they use has a plastic garbage bag over one of the seats and the other mower broke down twice when i was golfing. Greens are terribly long/fuzzy with the bent grass probably 1/2 inch long, not even pga/golf standard. there is no reading those greens...they go wherever they want. goose holes on 3-4 greens that some days are 2-3 inches deep. fertilizer and fungicide?!? whats that? they sure as hell dont put that down enough, the owners doing of course, hes cheap as they come. And they also are very secretive about policies, they try and screw you out of deals with crazy conditions that must be met like a coupon will not be honored they way they advertise, they false advertise everyday. They also set up a fake company called Aetna golf where lockheed employees buy clubs at discount prices, and the owner tells them to use their middle names when answering phone. I work with a guy who called up there and knew it was a John guy who worked in clubhouse and john said his name was "Paul".......wtf. very unethical and very unprofessional. stay away! owner probably has onset dimensia, couldnt remember his own employees name. STAY AWAY. just being honest. Outside crew is pretty good, always nice and courteous, even when having to work in those conditions.

Listen...Dimmock Hill Golf Course and the staff that run it are awesome!! ...albeit...the course is for a certain group of golfers, and that group knows how great it is! This is not a professional course by any means! For those of us who understand our limitations and enjoy golfing for the comaraderie, the wide open spaces, the beers, and the NO WAITING because the course is not overcrowded...Dimmock Hill is PERFECT! Previous negative reviewers are spoiled and pampered! I guarantee they spend at least twice the fees at other courses that may have more staffing and better grounds maintenance. Dimmock Hill could employ more staff...but then they would need to up their fees bigtime! Personally, I feel that considering the low fees that they charge, the service and grounds are top-notch. The greens are not perfect by any means, but do you think golf started out with pristine greens...there werent even lawn mowers! This course is for guys and gals who dont take themselves to seriously, and who simply appreciate a little sport with their friends in the beauty of nature! Kudos to the staff...they are always friendly, down to earth, and always willing to help out. If you are a snob...do not go to Dimmock Hill...nobody wants you there anyway. If not, then have an awesome afternoon with your buddies...or your Dad!!

Well where to start. Sure the course was built in 1975, but the owner refuses to spend ANY money maintaining the greens, fairways, or mowing equipment. Take a look at the website, they actually had the balls to make up ficticious people who work in the pro shop, to "make the company look bigger" says the owner. None of them exist, only one guy works in the pro shop. The greens are in terrible condition, the fairways are not mowed, and the head greenskeeper is a retired union roofer who really could not tell his rear from a hole in the green. The carts are in just as poor condition as the fairways and greens. The website says they have 50 new carts, not true. Well I am sure they were new in 1987. The greens fees are cheap, but you get what you pay for, a poorly designed unmaintained course. If you are looking for a good golf experience, your better off at one of the numerous other local courses. For the extra $10 or so you spend elsewhere, you will be much better off... The other guy had it right about the greens mowing too, but the unexperienced greenskeeper refuses to let the other employees mow the greens in reverse order, simply because "Thats not the way we do it". The greens mower is so old and unmaintained it will ruin your game simply because of the lack of a muffler on the engine.

Staff is rude and obnoxious, facilities and course are old and in need of maintenance, the short dirt road leading to it from the paved rode is muddy, bumpy and full of holes. Check their internet site and make sure they charge you correctly, they automatically try to charge you full price for everybody. They charge kids (7 / 8 year old) full price even if the kid just hits a couple of balls around. If you want your kid to just try to experience a golf course, go somewhere else, you can get junior rates in other courses, I think there are even a couple of other course that have kids below a certain age playing for free knowing they mostly just run around and maybe try to putt. They tried to charge a non playing rider in our group full price. We had a player who walked the course that was charged what we later discovered was a full price (I guess we should have just sat 3 in a golf cart or had him stand on the back of the cart). You can expect beer cans on the course and geese feces on some of the greens. The other guys got it right, we should have just gone somewhere else. "our reputation for service, honesty, product knowledge and low prices is known throughout the world"? Only if the world ends in a 1 mile radius from the place, what a sad joke.

Golf course is in terrible condition. All fairways have about 3-4 inches of grass with all the dead stuff from the last mowing on top of that. Very frustrating to hit a ball in the middle of the fairway, then spend 5-10 minutes looking for the ball. Conditions around the greens are bad also. Grounds crew has no clue what they are doing (rookies at best). Loud and obnoxious when out working. Owner needs to get away from his computer chair once in awhile and keep an eye on things. Former member but no longer. Another pet peeve about their grounds crew is the greens mowers. They mow 1-2-3-4 and so on. Once they are upon you they are with you all day long. VERY simple, mow the greens backwards 18-17-16-15 and so on. By going backwards you will only pass a golf group once instead of being by their side for most of the round. Very irritating.

We played on a league night, we were told to go off the front nine as the leagues would be starting on the front. We make the turn and lo and behold the leagues are on the back. When we asked the pro shop they admitted they "misspoke" and we could play the front again. When we went back to the first tee, three groups from the league they didnt want to play the back were on the front. We were told we could skip ahead. Dont bother playing here as the staff doesnt much care about your experience. Its all about the money. Too bad as I used to buy all my equipment here pre-season. No more and no more golf here.

Wish I could give this a -5 star rating. Course was the worst Ive ever played on. The front was "playable" but the back 9 was atrocious. The lady in the pro shop was nice. The man was a prick. But nothing was worse than the actual course itself. Waste of money. Clearly. Its almost as if someone got high and stuck a few flags in the ground randomly and called it a golf course.
